Ben Old for the Nix is a player, he's a talent above and will probably go soonish. Have to hand it to the Phoenix, they have churned out some good young talents in recent years.

Can't complain about an 8-1
Vidmar could be making the difference now he has had time on the training pitch.

The other big call is Lopane starting over Ugarkovic.
I don't understand why he's getting so many starts, he does simple things ok, but he has little vision and isn't very technical.

He should be able to hold the 6 postion, while Lopane will provide a better attacking option as opposed to Ugarkovic.
I've been saying Sakhi should be 6 and he looks good there, Uga did well as an 8 for the Nix.

Refreshing isn't it?
Suddenly we are looking to counter when we win the ball and Macca scores and we look better, it's great to see.

Was at the game and had a clear view of the disallowed goal. 100% not a foul, there was a heap of strength over the ball type contests in that box scramble and Jmac was simply stronger than Broxham, who is a whiny little bitch that flung his arms out and weakly fell over, crying real tears as well.
Goal should have stood and Broxham should have been carded for extreme weakness
Yeah I think it should have stood, Broxham was going down early.

Good result given the circumstances.
Vidmar changed it up which is refreshing and good to see the mids cutting off the passing lanes which was something lacking prior to this game. It was the best defensive structure all season.
We are still playing too wide and we struggle to put the ball at Jamie's feet.
With a squad that is obviously lacking in key areas, we did enough to negate their counters, smother the game and provide some real opportunities to score.
Good game.
Summs it up nicely.

Nope they bought it in after victory got Rogic and Troisi and possibly jets with Nathan Burns https://www.sbs.com.au/sport/article/ffa-changed-loan-rules-after-salary-cap-concerns/3wak1d0ty
I'm happy to be corrected, thanks. Personally I don't have a problem with it, it's shrewd business and improves the league.

It's amazing how they are now looking strong and we have gone backwards a bit
Teague was a brilliant pick up, was playing regularly in the Portuguese 2nd division last season and was a good player for the Aleague before he left. He's their O'Neil, goes about his work unassumingly, but is very effective.
Izzo has been good for them, one of the standout keepers this year.
Machach is a good foreigner, he has been doing bits.
Overall they have done pretty well in recruiting over the last 2 years and have a good balance, attacking wings is their weakest with Folami, Velupilay and Ikon not being the best, or in Ikons case, eternally injured.
Meanwhile we loose 3/4 of our squad and 2 coaches essentially, 3 if you count the assistant. We are in a rebuild period where they have gone through that in previous years and are more settled.

I guess one positive we are out of the ACL is that Vidmar can do some training work, he has pointed out many times that it has been hard to do much as a head coach because of this. Hopefully we will see an improvement and more cohesion. I think last game was the best we have looked in attack all season, with Vidmar able to better do his job, I expect an improvement.
A derby get's players going, we could play a blinder and blast them out of the park, anything can happen.

They also changed the loan laws so that the loaned players wage at their parent club counts towards the cap, not what our club is paying. They brought it in because they were scared our club would bring in Man City youths on low wages or none at all, yet would be on decent wages for the parent club.
A bit reductive, it could have improved the standard of the league pushing all teams to be better and find solutions, or as they would have been City youths, they may not have been that good anyway.

This game really highlighted our lack in pace, Souprayen gets away with it because of his good positioning and is growing on me.
Jakolis is a strange one, he got a goal and assist, but otherwise was pretty ordinary. Arslan was frustrated by him and late in the game around the 60-70 min he didn't want to pass to him, but he does have a knack of producing something and not just back passing.
Probably Natels best game to date, the jink and pass for the first goal was nice, onwards and upwards. I'd like to see that kid get more game time that came on for him.
Caputo looked good when on and that's where he should be playing that false 9 position like I have said previously, I think he should start there before other players.
I think Sakhi looked better as the 6 in previous games and suits him better, but it is a real problem position for us.
Nice to see Lopane our Aussie 19 yr old get a goal.
2 hours ago, Mr MO said:I can only think of that Galloway is leaving January. Talbot is a project as we do with most of our fullbacks.
But yeah below par technique and very little footbal intelligence is frustration to watch.I'm frustrated with how Sahki seems to not understand that he needs to make himself available at all times. He hides and strolls behind his opponent midfielders, all it take is step left or right to give us another passing option - this is anti City game play.
Galloway is a mystery, agree re Talbot, was at least partially at fault for the first and third goals against us.
Agree on Sakhi, I'd like to see Caputo start in his place, or even Uga. When he filled in at 6 he did a fairly good job, he's probably our best option right now. Maybe Souprayen could do a job there and Hall or Politidis could be in CB and offer a bit more pace for us there. Souprayens positioning should offer a lot more cover with intercepts, it's maybe his passing that is the question mark.

Err Colacovski plays for Perth....
Yeah sorry, just got onto past players, I was lazy and should have included more words.

They let Sydney have all the possession and just countered - very dangerous for us as we have no recovery speed in the back line or DM.
Arzani had a good game as well, with Bruno on fire.
Colacovski played pretty much a poacher, he did pretty good scoring a goal.

Not only a days less rest, but they are coming back from Philippines as well! They are going to be a lot more fatigued than us and we simply must win!
They rested half their team, Tulio, Nisbet, Hall and Vukavic all played the 90, the rest were either rested or subbed on.

Yep can't see Bankok scoring.
3-1 all over red rover

Here we go, last 45 will decide our fate.

1-1
not looking good

Mariners topped their group, most goals scored in that stage I heard.
Tulio, Hall and Nisbet played the full game and they rested a lot of other first teamers, but maybe those three will feel it in our game.

Okay that one.
Leckie committed a foul when letting ball go through.
Wow, looks to me the defender got off balance when he noticed the ball going behind him, there was a little shoulder to shoulder battle, but no holding that I can see.

1 hour ago, Mr MO said:
That was the Natel tap in? Both Natel and Arslan were offside when the ball was played so it didn’t matter that Tolgay let it run.
Ugarkovic tap in with the ball going behind Leckie and the opposition defender.

Natta is very much a ball playing CB, on the ball he is terrific, defending he is ok. Probably similar to Rowles, a bit better on the ball, but less physical, which could be more due to age than anything.
