  1. Arzani is off contract at the end of 17/18 season. If he shows any thing like the form of his pres season efforts i am pretty sure he will not be with us 18/19.
  2. agree 1000%. One game against essentially a sub standard compromised Brisbane Roar side is does not maketh a first XI player. We now need a serious pro RB backup to Shenkenveld and Muskat, and also a LB. Christian Cavallo is not even on a contract, so doubtful he will stay with the club given it is only a week before we start. Pieras would be a disaster (no disrespect) as second choice to Jamo. Not enough experience. Is currently not even making Intra club bench. Don't think new coach rates him. JVS had a different opinion, however i agree that we need to win games not blood youngters to get headlines. If Joyce and city lose 4 on the trot Joyce will leave, players will revolt, assistants will mutiny and we will be stuffed. Full strength pros with experience only, please. Then you can tear them a new arse when they under perform. No body really wants to go to town on a young player who is thrown in the deep end and is exposed as not ready.
  3. what does this even mean!! City Have 6 scholarship players 5 of them are 17. If this isn't a commitment to developing youth i don;t know what is. Victory have strung these players along for years. Lets see, despite what moron muscat says, how much game time they actually get.
  4. Says on wikipedia Metcalfe is number 34 From youth squad[edit] N P Nat. Name Age Notes 34 MF Connor Metcalfe 17 1 year scholarship contract[2]
  5. from AU twitter page FT | @MelbourneCity 1-2 #AUFC. A Blackwood penalty and a last-minute @j_odoherty 20-yard free-kick sees our undefeated pre-season continue! mmmmmmm this is concerning
  6. There are two Cavallos at the club. Brothers. This one trialling is the older of the two. The Metcalfe kid is injured atm i thnk.
  7. Is this guy even at the club anymore? He has not played any NPL games and has not been seen at any training sessions. Why would they give him a contract. surely there is another player.
  8. Possible sighting of Carusca at CFA. Would make sense. he is from Adelaide after all.
  9. He is returning to fitness. Sighted at club recently and will be back to full training pretty soon.
  10. Nope Brayden Crowley is behind Tonyik. Might be a youth player. Mate tells me this player is trialling.. ACL!!! ??? Tuesday, 20 September 2016 - @CCMariners The Central Coast Mariners can today confirm that Hyundai A-League player Jake Adelson has suffered a rupture to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee during the club’s pre-season friendly against Wellington Phoenix on Saturday. On Monday, Adelson underwent scans on the Central Coast to confirm his injury. Adelson will meet with a leading Orthopedic Surgeon in Sydney this week prior to undergoing a knee reconstruction. The Central Coast Mariners wish Jake all the best on his road to recovery. Read more at http://www.ccmariners.com.au/article/jake-adelson-injury-update/qi8oncnntjcm1adx7nllhpvou#BLxbzcQtSpOikCjZ.99
  11. A mate tells me that City have two kids from the AIS signed. Probably because AIS is closing down.
  12. Bratten is in negotiations with City to remain again next season. will be announced next week i reckon.
  13. Is Cahill now within the cap maybe get troisi and Honda by paying Troisi as marqee and Honda as Guest on Big $ with the expectation he will only play 14 games. he them can be deployed carefully in big games etc and may be tempted by the $ and not the full playing comittment. plus ACL bonus as he is Asian. lets see FFA try and reject him as "not marketable enough" " Unkinown in Oz " etc. would be a crazy insult to the Asian Confed, the very people we are trying to convince we have a reputable reliable professional league.
  14. what about the need to grind out a result on the odd occasion for points sake instead of trying to attack for 88 min and defending for 2 min. Points win comps and gain entry to ACL. Also be careful to balance the youth injection. Noting that the two teams who faired best last year did not risk results over youth inclusion. Leave the youth to 10 min at the end of an already confirmed win. POINTS POINTS POINTS...
  15. Yep definitely this. PK told a mate of mine that new coach will be announced Monday. PK also going to England this weekend so might be going to bring coach back or something like that. Hopefully top quality coach. Whoever it is they will be under strict instructions to make the final at a minimum.
  16. Brattan will be at Melbourne City next year for sure.
  17. Ok fine, well when it IS announced feel free to ignore it.
  18. Have it on good authority that coach will be announced in the next few days. There will be a number of player announcements following. The first coaching option they had lined up fell through. Hopefully this is the start of the information bout the new squad for 17/18. We have the FFA cup to defend so the sooner they get to training and get rid of the wasted playing spots the better.
  19. saw a great game from city youth V Springvale White eagles yeaterday. City definitely have some up an coming youth outside of the Arzanis's etc. Great report on the city website. get to a game if you can. they play a great brand of football and are second on the ladder. Its a bit of a shame that the atmosphere at the home games is lame. They dont play at home until mid april which is weird but a game i saw last year was hard to watch. there is no stand and no seats and no food an two crappy port a loos. WTF is with that... the Youth games deserve at least a canteen with coffee!! C'mo CFG good games need an atmosphere.
  20. did get to see the Game on the weekend. City V eastern Lions. Very dirty team the eastern lions. True to form they started a fight. hacked our players all game and got nothing for it. we had the last laugh cause it was 6 - 1.
  21. Yep you are right tomi that is his brother. I have also heard from a very reliable source that at least 5 victard players wanted to walk out and come to city. The coach only took 2 of them. this Carvllo kid and another winger. success is very attractive isn't it. The NPL squads play Richmaond this weekend so lets see if these players can adapt and they get a win.
  22. Yea tomi saw the game yesterday also. city's entire defensive backline was different almost. Some young guys in there. most of the goals came from errors in the fisrt half so its not like they just played all over city. two players got taken out by the same player you mentioned. bates looked like he was worse for wear and could not even walk off. Muscats young pups learning the tricks of the trade. so as it stands they actually didnt beat us. Cool. Hope tyhey take out the GF.
  23. Sozer has peformed well in the NYL. The other younger keeper has been playing lately though.
