  1. Neville is a good player, but he is not a marquee. If Heskey can't pull in thousands more fans, Neville definitely won't. And ffs can people stop talking about Totti and Ronaldinho! Totti is under contract and will never leave Roma, not matter how hard you dream. Ronaldinho a few years ago tried to charge Sydney FC $2mil for one single game so is out of the A-league's price range. Stop saying Totti and Ronaldinho!!!!
  2. well, at least they're making sence now which is better
  3. I believe sidwell vowed that we'd get a marquee, but a few weeks later munn effectively said we wont. If that's right then it shows disfunctionality and is incredibly annoying because we need to at least try and sign someone like Raul.
  4. Give him a go? he's had an entire year, incuding two transfer windows, yet repeatedly made the same mistakes and blamed everyone else for them. He should be gone but the club's stuck with him cos of his 3-year contract, so we've got no choice but to be pragmatic and accept it. At least he's made the right decision (assuming it was him who made it, but tbh not sure) on letting bolton, colosimo, fred and thompson go, athough my 13 year old brother could see it needed to be done so it's not exacctly a groundbreaking show of intelligence.
  5. IIRC His agent approached sydney fc in 2010 asking for $2mil... FOR ONE GAME. Raul is the best suggestion in this thread.
  6. van bommel is a fucking unit. muscat and thompson would actually be terrified and fake sickies to avoid being in the same stadium as him.
  7. Because every year 5 teams have an 'extra home' match, those games are always, always going to be scheduled in neutralish regional areas. Primarily this ensures fairness so some teams don't get extra home matches and, if done properly, it's actually a good way to get others involved with football as a side effect. As long as there is an odd number of rounds in the a-league these matches will always take place, so there's no point being for or against them - they're a fact of the a-league. However, it does annoy me and clearly many others that these games often seem to be in pointless locations. Morwell? Bathurst? Seriously? These games should all be played in places that have significant populations and could be future expansion regions. Tasmania, Townsville, Wollongong, Auckland, Darwin, Canberra, Geelong and SE Melbourne (it's not regional, but it's too far away from the city to be properly covered by Heart or Victory, thus it doesn't really have an accessable team yet) are the only places these games should ever be played
  8. FFA, when you've sold WSW for a tidy profit, pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaassssssseeeeeee take Heart off of these clowns and reboot us. We need a new everything.
  9. If next year is anything like the past 3 years, I'd half want Munn/the board to leave and hand the club back to the FFA to be rebooted and given the Wanderers treatment. The Heart perpetually limping along in the bottom half of the league with the worst crowds in the league and zero ambition to change that is painful and will only be bad for our future and the future of the a-league.
  10. Oops yeah I should've made a poll, but IIRC TornAsunder on another thread that in the fan representative group only he and Ando, so 25% of the group knew that this forum existed. So this forum represents only a small portion of the clubs membership base. Not to mention that a lot of these users probs won't even go on these forums for a while cos of the dismal situation, and thus won't vote On top of that, the membership base only represents less than half of our total fans (judging by our 6500 members v 14000 that showed up for the del piero extravaganza). And this itself represents a small portion of our potential fans, which are vital to our success because these are the people that will grow our attendances. A decision needs to be made taking aaall these people into account, not a fraction of a half of a small portion, which is what a poll would represent. When all of these people are taken into account the obvious answer is to change it
  11. It's not that they don't love the club, it's just that people are pissed off with the one-sided relationship of the club not loving the fans by serving up shit. It's just like what's the point of having a girlfriend and loving her if she doesn't give a shit about you? Those people would still be buying memberships if the club was coming 10th, but giving their total and absolute all in every game. and for what it's worth I will be buying a membership next year, but if the club doesn't start committing, i wont be the following year
  12. I like it too, it's contemporary, we are a modern club, let's not pretend that we have a 100 year old design. to cpantlin, the brand the club has built so far is one of being small, unsuccessful and ambitionless. and to belaguttman, it's not really pretending that we've got a 100 year old design, just having a design that looks like it's a football club badge. I'm guessing the only people who like the current badge are some of the rusted on supporters, of which there aren't many. The club has to appeal to other people too, and as I found out by asking around the overwhelming consensus is that it's bad. Even my girlfriend and little sister think its bad because it looks feminine, and that's saying something
  13. Fair enough, but that's the flag of melbourne. atletico madrid has a bear picking strawberries on theirs cos it's the madrid coat of arms, and koln has a billy goat
