  1. There was some conjecture over feedback on our results and Rado but its interesting looking at the stats and trying to read into what they mean for our future. That's the fun thing about the forum. We can say what we think with no consequences besides anything but our own pride. I'm actually hanging out for us to buck our recent trend and have a tight win without conceding. Let's see what happens.

Well, I think that we can get better, were have been better, but that means less freedom for individuals in the team. As always, it's a question of balance. We might do better changing the risk to the third pass rather than the second pass by becoming a bit more structured in our patterns of play into attacking transition

That's my point. If we stick with this way of playing we don't have the players with skill level to do that. We can't get better with this much freedom. We need the balance to be a bit more defensively minded.

Rado has us playing more aggressively in attacking transition: that's great if we can keep the ball; we are far more likely to create attacking overloads. The problem is that we often lose the ball on our second attacking transition pass and are then overloaded ourselves, with defenders out of position. Opposition coaches have realised this and good counter-attacking sides know just when to press us.

we either need to get better at keeping the ball or adapt the tactics. We are still likely to win the Premier's Plate, but unlikely to win the Grand Final, or even win our semi.

We won't get much better at keeping the ball i don't think. Because as a whole the skill level is just not good enough.

Complete and utter rubbish going on in this thread.

Rado is twice the manager that Kisnorbo is. Just because he doesn't carry on, on the sidelines like a dickhead, doesn't mean that he's not "tough" and doesn't hold people to account.

He just approaches things in a different way. The guys lost two games all season under his coaching and yet we're still critical, as always. Some people will just be grumpy and complain for the sake of it.

Interesting take. I don't think anything was said of the equivalent opposite to him being 'twice the manager PK is.' Which is rubbish in itself. Nothing was said about him being a bad manager. Just some opinions and observations, the observations being true. Since your post we conceded another two goals against Sydney. This is not a bash the result. Just looking at a pattern and whether it has any significance down the track for us. I hope not.

So City Terrace has folded but is going to occupy and fill Bay 12? what does this mean?

After the Derby Debacle, clubs have pretty much decided they don't (need) want Active, and they will accept not having the Active atmosphere over the potential occasional trouble caused by an empowered Active group.

Reputationally (nationally and internationally) the Derby Debacle was very very bad for the league.  Squashing the risk of this happening again is the outcome.

I hope active can rebuild, but that it becomes more of a whole of ground thing, with good songs that City Supporters can embrace (rather than the dumb Fuck Off chants).  I go to all games, and there are heaps of kids that like to sing along to the decent chants ... this is hopefully the future.

AFAIK Bay 12 is a ticketed seat area. Presumably those who want to sit there will need to have City Blue memberships. If certain City members have been banned then presumably they have not been allowed to buy new memberships to sit there. Goodness me, what a shambles.

I'm ambivalent about it all. IMO the club can indeed live without "active." But for the flares from our end at the Derby it would not have happened of course, so to an extent the Terrace has brought this on itself. Such a shame though that it has ended up like this.

Like @Torn Asunder I hope that we can rebuild active support but this time in such a way that embraces everyone around the ground. It's not just the young who like to join in with familiar songs and chants!

In relation to your posts, in particular the derby....the msg from City Terrace was about ongoing problems for the last 4 years. Im wondering what your thoughts are with relation to that.

Fully agreed on being soft, I can see what you mean though and I can see that too. Having a soft underbelly is certainly the case. He’s been open about giving players more freedom. I’m not here to defend Rado but I’m supporting a change which is positive in my opinion.

With PK, it worked because those were the foundations of Eric Mombearts, that team won the double. We shouldn’t pretend that we never dropped a game under PK.

Last season we’ve managed not to win a single game against the full 4 top also got our asses whipped by Victory a lot worse than last night! Short memory for some (not you).

Grown up players like Berisha, VDV and Leckie don’t need to be barked on from the sideline. Leckie has a lot more freedom if you’ve noticed and it works beautifully. We are more dominant and playing better football on the eye. I’m convinced we can still win silverware but yes we will drop games here and there - such is football.

Ok so that leaves us where exactly. I think we agree on many things.I kept the losses to victory out of it for that reason because PK didn't have the best results against them lay season. I agree we are better on the eye. Very similar to JVS. Scoring for fun. And, copping a bag full of goals as well. 9 goals in the last 4 games to be precise.

I gave it some thought before positing and the best way I can sum what I'm saying is I would like to see a bit of both PK and Rados styles to take charge of this team. That its not all PK style is bad. Rados is good. That's what I'm getting at.

An half time outburst like in his All Access episode?

I wasnt a fan of everything PK did but the guy did win multiple trophies for us. You may not like how he went about it but it worked. You may be in favour of some of Rados qualities but im concerned that I'm already seeing a bit of a soft underbelly with him.

What's Rado trying to do? Be the "Down-under Pep?"

Don't know why we bother with Ticketek. Clubs should sell their own tickets for home matches.

Agree but we are merely tenants to AAMI Park.  I can only assume they have a partnership with each other (the stadium and ticketek) across the board with all their events and thus we are merely along for the ride.

I think you should watch again with more focus on Jamo. On the ball fine, he’s too short that in combination with being slow and bad positioning caused a goal and several of the scrambles. He doesn’t intercept or read it as a CB. If you are looking for a obvious mistake than you are right but there is a bit more to it than that IMO.

Very unlikely that that the 2-2 would have been headed in like that with a big CB.

Don't forget his silly foul that led to their goal.

I think he's been pretty good albeit maybe not the level i thought he might get to. Probably more workmanlike and less flashy than i expected, but thats by no means a bad thing and hes definitely playing his part in an effective system. I reckon its starting to play on him a bit that he doesnt have a goal yet though.

Spot on it is. A moment or two last game he had perfect opportunity to provide an assist in what would be a goal without doubt yet opted to take it on himself.
