Would take Rukavytsya over J. Kennedy. Remember watching him playing for Glory in the early days of the A-League tearing it up!

First thread, that deserves to be a thread in a while. Thankyou.

The question is.
Do people who sign up with City this year for the first time, get an 'Inaugural Member' badge? (srs questions)
I think the answer to this question will show how much these new owners care about the history of this club and if they have taken it into account.
But i agree, it does feel like they are actively attempting to cull the red and white day by day. Was disgusted at the Sky Blue membership envelope that arrived in my letter box yesterday. Give me strength. -
What sort of numbers are we expecting to take up there? The previous few years the numbers gone up have been getting larger and larger
2000+
I think you mean: #twothousandplus
and thats just the white towels we are taking. Im predicting 2.5k Melburnians Ultras at the SFS to see Janko tear Ramsay and Co a new one.

Their reluctance to sell the Away kit just makes it so obvious how much they are trying to rid of the red and white from the crowd.
yup
Doesn't help when all these people who fought for 'Keep Melbourne Red and White' have gone out and bought the new home kit.

Can someone please find out when the hell this guy arrives so we all can rock up?
Someone has to have inside info from club or airport management, anyone works at the airport that can find out??
Perhaps a member of ATC may know?
Somewhere between 2am and 4am, and he'll be holding a scarf with his arms up.
BYO towel to Airport Elianid (Eli)?

Take Germano off the playing list and employ him as Club Translator.

at the FFA cup against sydney we stole the GK towel off the post so we want as many people to bring white towels so we can throw them to him
We'll be notorious by the end of Round 1. As hard as they get. Melburnians.

Best FIFA yet, on the basis that D. Williams injured himself for 4 months in my first game of manager mode.

Hi everyone, Im ready for round 1. As funny as it seems I'm actually from Sydney but Melbourne city is my team. Got the interstate membership which is fantastic for an away supporter.
I'll be down for the first home match and Sydney at home at this stage.
Anyway, i'll be down in the active bronze area of sfs with the missus. can't wait.
Luke Sammut?
The memories you just bought back.....

lets watch Brokeback mountain and frot each other off whilst we are at it as well.
"So Happy Together" for me personally isnt a great club song & whoever voted for it needed to be shot (no offence).
Offense Taken. Come at me.

I've always wanted to use this chant for one of our players, and it works perfectly for Erik Paartalu!

Well here is an article about it
looks as if he tried to take on the security! ahahah how sad
Bottom right....looks like some random bloke has decided to tackle a visitor casual. I don't watch too much League, but this tackle will surely end up with grey jacket on his head. Graded a dangerous tackle. 3 weeks on the sideline for the big dog, but well done to him for doing a good thing for humanity.

Not from me. This is exactly the type of thing I was saying I wanted to see. More please. My expectations are still just as high and if the gaps in the squad are filled then there is even less excuses not to see a top 2 finish. Tbh with a good LB and if kennedy commes in Jan, I think we will be in a good position to contend. Definitely. My rant the other day came more from the frustration of 1- not being able to see it all coming together and 2- people saying they would be happy if we came 6th.There might be a bit of editing happening in the 2014/2015 season predictions thread
If we can fill those last 2 gaps and JVS is able to keep the team playing constantly well throughout the bulk of the season we should do very well. I agreed with your rant the other day and still do. It was frustrating to see the squad with big gaps and it appearing that nothing was happening. It did feel like we had given up a club we loved for a new club that promised so much, but appeared to becoming more of the same. I just hope that the rest of the gaps are filled and this isn't just the last good signing till xmas window.
Also the Man City lads did warn us early on that CFG would do all their business quietly and that it would be quite frustrating.
Just in regards to your club that promised too much comment
Duff (under cap)
Koren
Mooy (under cap)
Paartalu (under cap)
Villa (10 game stint)
Kennedy (most likely Aussie marquee)
Compared to......
Mifsud
and
The lifetime friends I made in Yarraside
Having our identity taken from us was about much more than results or who we did/didnt sign. What we built in the Yarraside meant a lot to me but I was OK to let it go providing it was replaced with something that would help Aust football grow to new levels. When the club goes silent for so long, I begin to have flashbacks of when it seemed like the fans cared more for the club that the people who ran it did. It would seem my concern was not warranted, but its something I cant help.
This. So Much.

For me, the biggest revelation from today is discovering that Iain Ramsay was offered a contract Internationally.

Why would a player reportedly earning half a mil overseas want to come to the bottom ranked team in Australia and sign for 4 years?
Reportedly how it went down with Paartulau (and every other signing we will ever get):
City: "Play with us, we have connections in the UK and the US, and we can promise you a trip to the UK every off season."
EP: "But I've played with Redders and Rambo before, we must be fucked defensively."
City: "That we are, however you will forget about how shit we are when your flying business class to London and training next to Sergio Aguero. We can also guarantee you any arabian whore you would like in your 3 hour stop over in Abu Dhabi"
EP: "Lets go with 4 years, lads"
