Shahanga
49 million bet on one A League game? Sends a chill down your spine just thinking about it and it'll have a much bigger impact on those in the corridors of power. Now an average A League player earns say $150K per year? The refs presumably are on similar? Some players are likely to be from impoverished backgrounds? Makes for a recipe for trouble. Effecting the outcome of a game is a bit tricky but an experienced pro in a key position could make a "brain snap" "mistake" at a key moment and give the game away (given its the A League still might not lead to a goal, granted) and of course there is the nebulous spot betting which is surely easily manipulated (though can still be exposed- just ask Ryan Tandy http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/ryan-tandy-spared-jail-over-betting-scandal-20120113-1py9p.html
