Robinho
Big money for a short season. Including Fowler, Cannavaro, Pires, Morientes, Crespo etc. http://www.guardian....-premier-league Edited January 16, 2012 by Robinho
Baresi
Saw this. Each team must have an overseas coach/manager, and at least one big name player. Interesting.

ToonHeart
Would of loved Morientes, Crespo or anyone of those to come down to the A-League.
sharpy
Good on them, a way to create some interest in the sport in a country of more than a billion people. Will get the ball rolling for the sport in their country.
toogood18
Good on them, great idea. Not the first time though I have heard of the Indian League, this article about Tolgay Ozbey, a fringe A-League player, for the Jets in 06 and 07 and goal scoring machine in the NSWPL is playing over there. http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/196771,i-league-pioneer-ozbey-loving-india.aspx He is apparently scoring like he was in the NSWPL, so guessing it'd be the standard of probably bottom tier VPL clubs. Seriously though like the other boys said would be great to get some of those players into the A-League

This thread was started about the Indian Premier League that hasn't begun yet, but will be starting in future as a more short term, attention seeking, big money spending, league, that has been created to attract more attention to the sport in India. The I-League will still be run, but this league will run at a different time, if I understand it correctly.
JD.
got a feeling football won't catch on in india, this league won't last for long in my opinion.
Cammo
Hope the cretin owners of my Blackburn Rovers aren't involved. Would be a sure failure if they are.
