I thought the tournament as a whole (I went to all three) was great. There were some aspects that I did not enjoy but overall I found it worthwhile. The paper planes were dreadful and symbolic of that "theatre goer" thing though. That and the banter I heard around me was reminiscent of matches 15 or more years ago in Melbourne. There was a real sense of the crowd being quite new to the sport. At least that's how I felt. That aside, I'm really looking forward to seeing who comes out in the coming three years. Hopefully Melbourne City are a part of it too.

Christ, just had a read through a couple of pages of this thread. I hadn't thought of our supporters as being such right wing nut jobs. Obviously it comes down to personal ideology: whether you subscribe to a better society or simply looking after yourself. That's fine, a lot of people will only ever think of themselves. The key to why the right is so fundamentally wrong is their stance on basic, irrefutable science. You can't argue with it, science is fact, yet the right argue against the legitimacy of climate change (along with evolution, the necessity of well funded scientific institutions and the need for education for anybody other than the wealthy). Until they understand right versus wrong on something as critically important as climate change, I'll put every other aspect of their beliefs down as being wrong.

I'd imagine Lampard isn't a very realistic prospect but then I would have said the same regarding Villa this time last year (or even two months ago), so I plainly know very little.

It sounds promising, especially if, as has been stated, it's under the cap and we move on a few others.

St Albans but there is stiff competition in many, many parts. Just to add the best too (a thread based entirely on negativity isn't healthy), Brunswick. Although I am fond of Parkville and East Melbourne. For Victoria as a whole; Morwell, Mildura and Ballarat all need thought. The best in Victoria, for me, Barwon Heads and Bright (outside of holiday periods).

Not all analogies need create mirrored comparison (and I don't feel uncomfortable casting the Victory as the Eagles). Would you be happier with Suns v Lions? And there are multiple years. So, once again, whilst winning the derby is great, the Heart need to carry it on (great first step though).
