Coming from England and Man U he thinks he's the best coach. Who wouldn't. That's fine. Reality check comes in the second round. Then against Grumpy and Poppa. First test next week away. We didn't trash last opponent.

Arnold had a balanced team of 16 players but used only 14. You want to younger playars learn from Visa ones on the given position. In that case we already have Visa CB Jakobsen. Definetly CM spot. Speaking of defence we already had Wilko on the books...

One goal is building the best starting eleven. Another priority is the squad depth. This is what we always lack. Do not start me with salary cup this and that. You can't win it without depth. Every premiers has got it. We always buy and then sell the player who plays in the same position. Instead of having them competing for the spot. We get nowhere with that practice. With that short and limited list club could win the Cup. But longer running league ? - you judge it.

Unexpected Mauk got back to us and not to Adelaide. Simply, better choice than Caceres. Mauk started to paid back some dividends before leaving and he was very good at United. Not good enough for Eu but hey this is HAL. No socceroos would sign as a marquee and then play a second fiddle to Timmy. If CFG wanted to spend we would have been champions. Bruno is Visa marquee. Expect a couple good Visa players. Again, Bruno and Brandan type, more than welcome.

We should get two visa players. But another marquee, as in well known and better than average player, hardly. Colazo should not be repeated. Brattan will step up when placed into his position. It's hard to speculate as CFG will get unknown players. It's probably easier to predict who is next to leave.

Caceres is very good futsal player. Tongyik would play in EPL or Championship. Brattan on the bench in Aleague ? Timmy socceroos on the bench with this squad? We couldn't create a chance last year and that segment hasn't changed yet. Who knows, maybe Jamieson is not to play his position. We crammed Malik, Rocca type of players. Seems not going to play glorious MC FC beautiful game.

La Rocca is rough and dirty defender. Typical lower league coach choice. Let's scoop Carrusca now and complete Adelaide takev over. All three of them shown a downward trend in the last season. Not yet enough for making grand final. La Rocca with probably now chronic injury. Rather see Chapman around.

Timmy has the marquee status inside the club, alpha and omega in the locker room. Any domestic marquee would need to play second fiddle. It's not just about the money, which is not big here anyway. Is Troisi that kind of guy? NYC get better players.

Bigger, stronger, more successful clubs have already formed teams or much more shaped then we. We can wait for South Americans but it takes time to glue team together. When are we going to play MC, other visiting international club here at home? Why does it hurt to speak in media and atracts interest? This is so subpair even to Aleague standards.

Our marquuee players are Bruno and Timmy. I wish for more, but club will only sign unknown players or like recent (good) domestic players. We are not NYC.

New signings could be only exciting as the head coach. No stories, no media talks. Is there a club which cares less about getting bigger fan base.

There should be a differnce between Melbourne City A-league fan forum and MC fantasy league forum.
We really, really need to beef up if we want to matchup cross city rival. We can continue dreaming about Kamau, Fitzy and Caceras bringing a title. Burns is good but instead of forward flare but should strengthen the core of the team first. If we can fit him after that then okay.

Better domestic players are already taken. We can only sign youth which is the club main policy. Hopefully some unknown good player as Bruno. But we are waiting, waiting,..., nothing has been planned.

CFG want to develop local talents and repeat Mooy success story. So development coach makes sense. They are after a profit. NYC not to be compared in the same sentance cause of the shire market size. Even though with glamorous setup they haven't got more success.
Sill there a disappointment, what about you and I, our memberships and expectations. CFG don't care about couple thousands more bums on seats and coach marketability. It was said how 100s applications landed in a two days. And now - meh. Other clubs shopped better names, seems to have large budget. Every coach over there is hard nosed - this not an argument. We had expert advise from their top coach Roy during Perth games. It can't be worse then those results.
His reserves stats, that team with first team dropouts was much stronger that other teams. What can he do against better organised opponents - need to wait round two.

Fan forum is place for us to dream. In the same time in the real world... CFG said last year that they will not spend above marketing value of A-League. They purchased the club with the world famous sport city in the name for peanuts. Interested in local talents, old players to get bums on seats. And not the very best coaches. World class training blah-blah facilities. They will not spend as much as locally sponsored big clubs. If you want big name marquees and manager then better change the club. We are not the richest club by spending. Mentioned Magilton and Lowe make sense and are very much the caliber we will be serviced. For instance, incompentent Lowe is the reason why Glory with arguably the best player Castro and squad, didn't win it. Like JVS with Mooy. On the soccer map Wigan > Melbourne. We need the coach who can at least play the best players on their natural position. Someone to simply understand that Colazo was LB, Bruno is striker, Brattan is DM, that we don't have AM, goes on...

Why would we buy another DM - besides Kilkenny, Brattan, Malik (yeah) ? If we were really out bidded by Mariners, well localy owned clubs will spend more than CFG on such players. It's easier to contract South American than Euro player, who would be also much older. Does Mabil want to reboot career? Better than Kamau! until he gets more strengh. Muscat is not good enough for ambitions (fans). That's position for swift RB. Carrusca, there are no better domestic A league players available. Doesn't fit into development philosophy. If we make World Cup, Timmy will play there. He won't be benched at this level.
