Awful communication from the club for a game which is 3 days away though.

Free entry apparently. Tempted to go check it out but it’s a long drive in Wednesday night traffic for me. Also just heard it’s on the oval used for AFLW and not the rectangular ground we play NPL at 😕
Just had a quick search to see what it would be like and apparently it’s okay but still football on an oval is never ideal

Initial thoughts while i wait for the train:
Worst part is both of their goals were very preventable.
Both of our goals were beautiful.
Red card to Maclaren was strange?? What happened there?
Glover is still the weakest link.
Beath is shit.
PK needs to make more subs earlier on.
Overall we were by far the better team, just need to clean it all up.
Probably a good game for the neutrals watching on FTA TV which can only be a good thing for the league.

I’m fine with moving some games around for the cup. I remember in its first season we played Sydney in Ballarat. But obviously would be against this if it were a league game.

I assume they mean the main pitch in the CFA where the NPL boys play and not the main oval used for AFLW right?

There’s also a deadline for the cup this year as the winner qualifies for the preliminary rounds of the Champions League. So they need to have it wrapped up by the time that starts

Wonder if we will play it at AAMI or take it to a suburban ground? Could be cool to play it somewhere like at Bentleigh Greens’ ground (where we are hosting some women’s games this year) just to trial the whole playing in the SE thing, and also because I don’t imagine a very big crowd is to be expected.

I'm convinced nobody would say anything about our crowds if the bloody seats weren't neon green. It just makes empty seats stand out so much. Wish they were a more neutral colour. There were plenty of games last year where WSW got 7k at Bankwest and nobody even noticed

I'm not usually a big fan of him but Berengeur had a good game last night.
Also, while the crowd of 7213 last night wasn't too bad and is a pretty regular A-League sized crowd, I was hoping we'd be pushing 10k at most games this year given our success last year. I guess COVID related factors will still be impacting all crowds in the state for a few months yet so probably unfair to judge too harshly yet.
