    Just stupid man

    Happy with the win.

Thank you Timmy for another header and a tap in. I really enjoyed it when you came off, play suddenly just goes little quicker in combination (even though we didn't score).....we won have these games with 3-1 or 4-1 last year so please don't think your are it! C+ Please don't think you are worth your money, I've seen you tracking back and not losing the ball after 2 touches. We did play number  last! As we did last week but I didn't see you, please explain? Too hot for your old body but not too hot for your bank account?

I will still have to vote you as man of match coz your goals, doesn't mean I see future in you starting games.

I very much agree with that but what i dont understand is why cahill isnt in the box at all times if he is still has one of the best headers in the game. Players like colazo, kamau and Brandan need to do high crosses to him.

    I just dont understand

    I concur with that too!

Brandan plays on the left and is right footed, I cannot recall a proper cross in the box for heading purposes.

Kamau is hit and miss, last game one good cross on Bruno and couple in the stands or too close to goal, he will accidentally put one behind the keeper one day.

Problem isn't the individual,  Colazo Cahill or any of the players it's how they are being set up and what roles they have been assigned.

On paper individually we are a 2 or 3 goal better team than anyone else in the league its just that collectively we are woeful.

Bullshit, Cahill can't combine for shit and his walking around the park doesn't help either. Credit to his headers but the rest is just poor and nothing special.

We don't have the team to compensate for slackers like that.

It is almost confirmed that the signing of a 3 year deal with Dean Bouzanis has lead to CFG to swap Thomas Sorensen for Frank Lampard

That would be amazing! Imagine that another pensioner like Cahill walking around, no drive and back tracking - we might as well give the FFA heads up that Killlenny will get a yellow card ban every second game to correct the walk on the park players.....

Yea nobody on Swan St will have a bar of football fans

FWIW  on your second point the manager of the View is an active member and gets down to games.

Ah I see, that makes it hard if we arent welcome....

I just see so many city fans on Swan street pre game hence I asked, it seems just a little more convenient for some. I agree that the Mt is better located that then imp.

  6. The Mt. View has just less ambiance as the fans are spread out over 3 levels, and the lack of one main screen to watch games on.

Secondly the location is an issue for some (it is for me and my friends), in regards to proximity to Aami and the main Richmond train station. You will find more fans hanging out on Swan Street on match days. If the City fan was on Swan you will get a bigger crowd.

Does somebody from the Melburnians group know why a pub on Swan street wasn't approached?

I don't think it's that black and white that Tims work rate or skill level is in question that much. There are far bigger problems with our system as a whole that is affecting not only him but the rest of the team.

I agree there are deeper problems.

I was merely talking about our attack. Last season we had Mooy and Harry who could hold the ball with them, nobody was afraid to pass to each other and combine.

Next game just have a look at Cahill's his first touches and turns, we over turn a lot of good balls in prime positions. I've noticed that certain players like Brattan and Cacares avoid playing him in on the ground, with the result that they are getting blamed for being on the ball too long.

I honestly believe if we play Tim and Bruno side by side it could work, but it would mean a change in tactics, which I think is the main issue with the partnership not working.

You honestly believe that in a different formation Timmy's work rate will go up? His average skills (air exception) will remain the same.

In the Adelaide game, Bruno decided to shoot instead of setting up play with Cahill, Bruno just knows the ball will be lost. A 442 formation requires two forwards to combine even more.

Every team Cahill has played for, he has gone missing for large parts of the game and the simple footwork he needs to do goes wrong. This league requires 11 players to put a decent performance in every game against every opponent. We just can't compensate for that.

What we've done is agreed to sign Cahill in order to get concessions from FFA. The collateral from doing that looks more and more like the sacrifice of a season.

Can't agree more with this. I honestly believe that we have to play him when fit as the FFA pays part of his wage and that is part of the deal. Again I'm happy with some important goals he scored but I believe our team functions better with more creative and technically better players up front (last season is a good example with Harry and Mooy).

Roar managed it under Ange with a less talented lineup, granted against less technically savvy opponents. Even the visit0rs are closer to this goal that we are at the moment. I think that I'd be less concerned if we were genuinely attempting it and failing but really all we are doing is slowly slowly moving the ball into the front third, circulating from side to side and back through the keeper and then eventually sending an ineffectual ball into a crowded box against a prepared defence. When we lose position we are poorly positioned to regain the ball - I've seen us do this well in the past and Sydney does it well at the moment.

Those teams you've mentioned are willing to work for each other, team and hard work can cover up a lot of your technical inabilities.

I'm not saying we don't work hard but we aren't a team, Bruno and Timmy can't play together. Cahill's poor foot work, inability to setup play and poor working rate, can't be covered up the other players for 90 minutes.

We are simply playing with 10 men until that occasional lucky cross comes in the box.

I've said it before our players are not technically good enough to play in the way we do to be successful on a consistent basis.

    Agree, mentioned this before.

"No point having tactics if your players can't even pass or control a ball''

Players like Malik, Rose, Colazo and Cahill struggle to keep the ball on their feet - sort out the basics before you want to play possession games.

I dont think they are going to be completely honest and start calling out specific players or what have you. But it would be nice to hear one of our coaches finally acknowledge that we showed no fight. Every season we see the same shit happen with a variation of the same fluff comment about it. I am so fucking sick of it.

The best pr is not treating your audience like morons

Correct the club and the FFA will never allow a coach to say what he really thinks about Tim Cahill and that we are better off with 10 men.

That he rather not start a game with him but poster boy needs to start when fit, that is in his contract with the FFA.

  13. I'm getting more and more irritated with our million dollar man Tim Cahill, who can't keep a simple ball or get passed a defender. I recall several times during the Adelaide game in the first half, a easy or good pass was spoiled, just jumped of his foot whilst a control or turn would have created a good opportunity! You can't setup play with him either as he can't run and doesn't follow through. Football skills are just extremely average (not with the head), I dare to say that Josh Rose can keep a ball up longer than Tim Cahill.

Thank you Timmy for a couple of goals but you are the past now, we need players to carry this team and not a team who carries Tim Cahill.

First thing I look at is how players control the ball and turn their bodies, hence people who crack it at Franjic have no absolutely no clue about football as his touch for a full back is above average in this league.

  14. I'm amazed that people are having a dig at the salary cap fillers, whilst the big earners are not performing. If the likes of Rose and Kamau could cross and pass properly they wouldn't be playing in Australia.

We are playing with 10 men as long as Cahill is on the field, very poor first touches, touches and turns are setting attacks up. He doesn't work, doesn't run, it is not getting involved and it just plain lazy.

Colazo, clearly doesn't want to be here.
