  1. Issue 2 of the Chameleon is being distributed before tonight's game against Adelaide. Keep your eyes open for it around the ground - gold coin donation. By supporters for supporters.
  2. As we are now flying over Albury, I sincerely hope that the doors will be locked.
  3. Making a road trip for this one, stopover in Albury Monday night after work. Cannot wait!
  4. Makes it much harder for us in our efforts to bring more casual fans to the game to get them on board with supporting the club longer term. Will have to sit with them down the quiet end. It also means we will have to sit down the quiet end when we bring the kids now, as flying beer, trigger happy capsicum spray equipped police and 6 year old children are not a good mix. Its a strange decision to reduce the flexibility of seating arrangements when we are all battling to recruit new supporters, especially when we aren't exactly full to the brim.
  5. Banner got very wet, but no one was prepared to try and steal it. Willo and Tando waved it around to help dry it off at the end of the game. I found Parramatta was a good place to go to an away game, great places to eat, stadium was alright too and in general it was a friendly crowd. Ticketing is really crap, I don't know why the club went to lengths to stop WSW fans from buying tickets in our section as it obviously didn't work, I reckon there were just over 30 city fans and 150 WSW fans (all families) in the sections allocated to us. I ended up sitting closer to the pitch anyway, I didn't take my binoculars which is what I would have needed if I sat in my allocated seat.
  6. There is a process to getting tickets in the away end, took me over an our on the phone to WSW, Ticket Master & MCFC to get to the bottom of it. If you ring Melanie Price, Fan Engagement Coordinator at MCFC (9457 1765), she will email you a link and a password that will unlock access to tickets in away section, bays 71 and 72. See you there
  7. I've fought my way out of worse places in England, it will add to the fun. No colours (except the banner) and we will take it as it comes. Anyone up for a couple of beers in the city before the game? What's the Imperial like up there, was it ok?
  8. That old thread could cause some confusion with dates, so I thought we had better start a new one. Looks like a lot of us are heading over to Adelaide for this one. I recommend staying at the Adelaide Central YHA in Waymouth Street http://www.yha.com.au/hostels/sa/adelaide/adelaide-backpackers-hostel/ , good value for money, friendly staff, usually a number of us supporters there and location perfect for the city centre. Can't recommend anywhere for drinking around the city though, will probably see you in Crazy Horse....
  9. Do you have enough room in your time machine for a suitcase of cash to put a bet on a 2-2 result for me? That was about 2 days after City Group announced they were taking us over. No it wasn't! Yes it was! Melbourne Heart was taken over by CFG in January. This match was in April! Ah, it was the January 25th game I went to, that was 2-2 as well. I've been assessing patients for Alzheimer's Disease all day, was worried I had caught it for a moment...
  10. someone put a man city flag up on the fence in the away end and the photo was used in the media covering the story for the following couple of weeks.
  11. Do you have enough room in your time machine for a suitcase of cash to put a bet on a 2-2 result for me? That was about 2 days after City Group announced they were taking us over. No it wasn't! Yes it was!
  12. Do you have enough room in your time machine for a suitcase of cash to put a bet on a 2-2 result for me? You would get very good odds on a 2-2 if you placed the bet in the 90th minute from memory. Great weekend, shame about the late slip. That was about 2 days after City Group announced they were taking us over.
  13. Thinking of staying in YHA friday night, anyone else interested in a share room?
  14. We will definitely be there, make sure you get the dates right though, 4th April is Easter Saturday (we will be making the trip to WSW for the game the night before too), Saturday 25th April is the Adelaide game.
  15. Where'd you get this made man and how much it set you back? Looking into making something.. From Australian Flag Makers - http://www.australianflagmakers.com.au/ , this set us back about $300, same as our old banner from same manufacturers, this one is in lighter material to keep costs down of having so many different colours. It was cheaper when we were just red and white! If i had any talent at painting i would give it a go, but in reality this should last us until they change the name of the club again and its easy to transport around too. We will take it to WSW and Adelaide this year, fits in bag very easily.
  16. That's haram in western Sydney I'm sure I would be able to blend into the crowd after the game though, if they do take offence.
  17. Anyone heading up to this one? I'm driving up through NSW the week before, trout fishing on the way. Tempted to hire an easter bunny outfit for this one, don't expect me to share my easter eggs though.
  18. New Bellarine banner arrived just in time for derby day, not anywhere to hang it up in the away end though, just got waved about a bit. The material is nice and silky, if club changes the name again in the future, I will turn it into pairs of silky smooth underpants.
  19. Working on a design for our new bellarine banner, 1st very rough draft
  20. At the practice game against Ballarat, you had to queue for ticket purchase, then show your ticket to security at entrance right next to the portable hut selling tickets. I reckon you will be able to buy your ticket, then head down to the pub. Thats my plan, as queuing was bad enough for the practice match, not sure how they will cope with the FFA cup game. I will make sure I get there early to get ticket.
  21. There's plenty of parking at the ground. I understand that but Im also concerned as this game will attract a lot more people than that friendly There are plenty of streets around the ground with free parking, don't stress, it's not like trying to get a park in Melbourne! It probably will get quite busy around the ground, but it won't take you long to find a park that is within easy walking distance. I just hope the weather is a bit better than it was at the practice match.
  22. Have been in touch with the club to see if they were OK with our Bellarine banner still going up in the usual place in the ground, got a very positive response from David Lyon, Head of Fan Development. For a while I thought I was going to have to turn it into a pair of curtains.
  23. Good to see Hedaik is 'repping' both Crips & Bloods colours. We are thinking of a road trip from 'da Bellarine hood', if our 'bitches' give us a leave pass for the weekend. Maybe we should fly from Avalon, but we are old as well as old skool and road trips just seem to be the way we do things. Its a great excuse to eat pies all day and listen to tunes on the stereo. Helps if someone has a work car with paid petrol of course...
  24. If having Villa and Lampard playing 10 games each for us is being used, its like comparing Kylie Minogue using me for sex. Bring it on.
  25. Very sad to hear the news, you guys have been fantastic. thanks for giving out some serious volume, colour (red and white of course), passion and laughs. If we could make it to games on time and didn't have kids with us most of the while, we would have been part of you as well. I share your discomfort at the changes, but hope you are around to add some noise to whatever we evolve into. Go Heart Maximum respect to Yarraside
