The lesson here would be to avoid absolute terms like 'he will sign' and 'he won't sign', as the HS have done by using words and phrases like 'hopeful' and 'overseas interest may be a factor'. That way, should the player do the opposite of what you've said, there's no need to backflip and no one will think you're an ITK wanker.

Begs the question: would you rather have the hierarchy of the club, when asked about a particular player, to make no comment or would you like to hear that we're interested? Early signs would suggest that Sturridge will be in doubt with an ankle injury. Hopefully can work his way back and will be fit for the pre season tour.
