Anyone beating the Oaks, I am trying look for some value in a Runner for a Place Bet... its a pity the Wakeful Winner is taking on Yankee Rose, then again its probably because Weir is smart and knows 2500m to too far for it now/or in general.

I honestly think $1.65 is a decent price. She's one of the best 3yo fillies of recent years even a Miss Finland didn't run as well in a Cox Plate and appears the 2500 is absolutely no issue.

Tbh I don't mind him he suits our playing style of passing it out the back and a patient build up. Don't really think the goal was his faul tonight it was just poor marking and a great cross. His distribution is a joy to watch however he does have the occasional fuck up

    Maybe watch the goal again.

It would need a massive amount of luck to be in the first three on Derby Day in the "Whatever the Call it These Days - Last Chance at The Cup" Stakes/Quality of that run.

Grey Lion is a massive chance to get a run. I'd expect them to risk Derby Day and take the chances to get a Cup run.

Oceanographer is the one that probably needs to go to The Lexus.

TTIM: 43,000 attendance in a 57,000 stadium. I still think we could get a lot more City supporters (me and my wife included) to away derbies if we received a decent allocation of seating so that we could all be together.

Suck it up. Seats may not be the best but I totally don't understand how people stay away from an away derby just because "Etihad is a hole".

  5. I actually think the top 15 are similar to most years lately but the bottom 4 or 5 runners simply shouldn't be in a Caulfield Cup.

either way it is still a Caulfield Cup and another top race I can tick off!

Caulfield Cup field is looking terrible: A VRC Oaks Winner (Like every year), some G2 Europeans and some Country Cup horses and not much else in between...

Personally I think Real Love actually has a chance of winning it the race if the run fast enough.

Been a while since we've had a top quality Caulfield Cup. I think Racing Victoria really should look at exempting the winner from a penalty in the Melbourne Cup. The Caulfield Cup is struggling to hold onto its mantle as 1 of our 4 majors.

  7. Can't see him going to the Caulfield Cup. The main aim is obviously the Melbourne Cup, Godolphin have been trying to win it for years. If he wins a CC he could easily get a 2kg penalty for the MC and then possibly have to carry 57 in a MC. More likely run a very good 2nd in a Cox Plate if he wins it great. Not eligible for a penalty either way. Then heads to Flemington carry just 55 and probably starts favourite

Tonight's Moir will be good fun... the WFA sprinting stocks are much more fun ATM to watch than the Middle Distance WFA horses due the lack of depth after the Top Two in NSW and Black Hart Bart down here's pretty much dominance (Albeit not two starts ago).

If Chat can get around them at a 1000m and with the speed in the race at The Valley that will be a feat likewise if Buffering can hold them of at his age....

Also not to mention if Extreme Choice can as a three year old beat those two... Froggy Newitt reckons his a big chance in the paper so I am going to go on him.

I was super keen on Extreme Choice but talk now is they're going to ride him quietly. I therefore think he'll only be in front Chat maybe 2 lengths at the 400m. Which is an obvious concern. I still like him though and will probably play with WH double down betting and double up during the run if things are unfolding well.
