  1. And another one bits the dust, Bey, Bey Levicka.

SYDNEY FC is in the market for a new coach after the club and Vitezslav Lavicka today came to a mutual agreement not to extend his contract beyond the end of this season.

Among those rumoured to be on the club’s radar are Central Coast Mariners coach Graham Arnold and former Italian superstar Gianfranco Zola, who coached West Ham in the English Premier League between 2008 and 2010.

    List of 2011/12 departures:

    - Ernie Merick

    - Branko Culina

    - Rini Coolen

    - Mehmet Durakovic

    - John van 't Schip

    - Vitezslav Lavicka

    On the chopping block:

    - Miron Bleiberg

It's starting to look like the Serie A.

  2. They kid has a lot of exp, he has spent a lot of time in the UK, has experienced disappointment, ups and downs, etc. He knows what he has got to do.

And to be fair he looks out of place in the Youth's, he's a big talent.

You might recall another young lad who mad his first start for the club in a Derby match, was probably best afield too!

  3. I don't understand the ticketing system? If last derby was a sell out, then shouldn't it have been 31,000? Why would they release a certain amount of tickets, sell out (supposedly), then release more?

Doesn't quite work like that, especially when you have Memberships involved which is the biggest factor. Not every single member shows up, nor does every ticket purchased. There are also allocated tickets for staff/players/refs/corporate which are not always redeemed.

The record attendance at the MRS is 29,442 which was for the rugby, and that is due to it being ticketed only. (Also ftr seated capacity at MRS is actually 30,052)

e.g. Liverpool have a capacity of over 45.5k and sell out every game, yet usually have 500-1000 under full capacity every match. And over there season ticket holders usually sell their ticket for games they do not intend on going to.

Team will be made up of mainly youth and fringe players, whilst Sibon has also been asked to take place.

  5. Speaking of Sibon, we may see him in the red and white once again:

Melbourne Heart: The Club advises Head Coach John van 't Schip will depart from the Club following the completion of his contract at the end of the season.

Gerald Sibon: Any new suggestions for the job? You have to go Dutch again! ;-)

Scott Munn: i look forward to the interview

GS: After the end of season trip! If that's all right with you?

SM: spare spot in hawaii are you free?

    GS: send me the details!

    SM: will email tomorrow

Me: Is this real life!? Will Sibon feature in the Hawaii Invitational? #YesPlease! #MHFC

SM: if Jerry wants to play. We can make it happen

  6. Great footballers rarely make great managers.

JvS has an extremely bad record everywhere he has gone, as manager for us he is responsible for the squad he has assembled and with that the results that come with it. The board has put their faith and trust in him and he has let them down. He does his job half assed as is.

At the end of the day he chose to sign just 1 defender, 4 mids and Maycon. After losing who we did, that's not good enough, especially of he insists on playing the same system. The team can only play as well as it is trained, these results are completely on him.

He has virtually stated he has no interests to stay here beyond season 11/12. I highly doubt our club can afford to keep him (or would want to). He has told the Dutch media that he is looking to move to Europe or America.

He has come here, milked us for $1.5m.

As for his global 'connections', what have they gotten us? Rutger Worm and bucketloads of false hope. Thank god for his dumb luck in stumbling across an absolut jem in Germano, for all our other signings you can pretty much thank John Dudalica who is the architect offs most signings.

I wish we had signed Aad de Mos (and with him would have come Ronaldo), we would have ~10,000 members, a very good developer of youth, a coach who understands the Asian market/requierments/limitations and a thriving football club. Instead, this single decision will most likely be the end of us.

Always knew he was a kent.

  7. The Heart youth team's left back Craig Goodwin, 20, is in the frame for a first-team call-up against Melbourne Victory.

The news coincides with confirmation on Monday that midfielder Matt Thompson will miss up to a month with a sprained knee.

Goodwin, a star with the youth team at left back and, occasionally, left wing, has been promoted to train with the senior squad in recent weeks when it became clear Behich would be called up by the Olyroos this month, along with Mate Dugandzic and Jason Hoffman....

  8. We won't play 3 at the back this time round.
