The kid with the head scarf is Gerry Sylaidos #50

ok thanks - Sylaidos. I will have a look at him again next week. He played well and for a 16yo was very impressive. roster says they play Victory. it will be a good game if they play the same team line up.

  2. Ok so i got to the game and it was a pretty impressed with the city team. A good win by a dominant city squad. I reckon Arzani played well as expected, however a couple of others really grabbed my attention. Don't know names of some only numbers - so if any one else can put a name to a number it would help. most of the players i have picked i have never seen before so they are either new or young.

right back 36 - good going forward and was looking to hook up with his winger etc. had a couple of runs into box and looked dangerous

midfield - 46 - really good player, looks young for sure but is so calm and controlled. had some good shots on goal and was unlucky not to score. was constantly playing balls through and setting up opportunity. got a great assist to a goal.

tall Dark kid - Ahmed 41 - was destroying the opposition - just gliding past them and got two goals. if he keeps playing like that he will play A league for sure. played last year

winger with the head scarf - 50 - also looked good and nearly scored.

mid field 34 - really hard worker possibly could pass the ball sooner, but was looking for a runner etc.

overall was a great game IMO.

Precisely. The loss of confidence by the players, supporters and sponsors has to be a net cost. the only real harm at the moment is that we don't have enough quality defensive players and whomever comes in will have to deal with that conundrum.

As i understand, another defensive player is being scouted to take the place of the injured winger Kuzmanovski. hopefully for January. maybe by then JVS will be gone and the new caoch will have the defensive stocks he needs

    Wish him all the best

Looks like this kid has been named in the NYL squad for this season so obviously has impressed the coaches. his photo is on the web site. sounds like a good player for out youth midfield

Is there much change in the squad season to season ?

a lot of changes to last years squad more young ones and a few from the youth A league ones. keep an eye on arzani and Cavallo as they have both had a bit of A league time so must be doin well at training etc. I reckon some other players will also stand out too. things looking good for city.  still pretty hard to get into the a league team.

I'm told by someone close to the club that JVS has been given 23-26 games to prove he's the right man for the job. After that he can either say he's leaving for family reasons or leaving to be closer to his family.

After that we can finally sign our no. 1 target.......John Aloisi! I've also been told that his assistant will be Ante Milicic

this seems possible and maybe CFG will appoint a coach in the style of Pep G. pep might even recommend someone. Only i think it should come if JVS is at the helm of at least three losses. why wait to R23. there would be no chance at all to recoup under a new coach.

  7. Or at the same place the friendly was played? Yea I dunno who number two was. They have some quality youth though so I am no surprised that there were standout players. Their numbering system is weird. Look like they have have no relation to the position that a player is in. Some kids were wearing numbers like 46 and 38 etc. I'll have a listen to the names if they read them out on the loudspeaker. But numbers will be completely different again I suppose. What is Adelaide like?

  8. Watched this game yesterday. Some good football played by both teams. City got the lead early and then it was city 2 victory 1 at half time. Squads were changed around a bit after that with younger players/trialists coming on. City goals were good though and Arzani and Tongik played. Francic had a run at the back so i reckon he is not too far off returning to 1st team. Game ended 2 - 2. Any body else see this game. Any Players standing out for city? Hopefully they can do well this season.

I've noticed that nothing seems to have been said anywhere about the youth league since last years grand final, and I feel I need to ask: is it still happening this season or have the FFA quietly dropped it without telling anyone (or taking down it's site)? And if it is happening, when are we going to find out...well...anything??

City has a NYL side preparing and training ATM. Franjic also trained with them for fitness
