  1. It is and always will be a Barm. Chip Barm. Fish-Finger Barm. Cheese Barm. Muffin indeed...pffft.
  2. Forget about your Diamond encrusted Wheelie bin baths, the building of world class training facilities and the signing of Messi. The Sheikhs first and foremost priority should be the re-indoctrination process of all Heart fans who also support Man-Yoo. I've noticed there are a couple of you. A few days in a sky blue padded cell with Bluemoon blasting on loop should suffice :-)
  3. I'll tell you what happened to Man City when the Sheikh cam in: 1. The media started printing negative articles about our owner/club (every article seemed to mention Arabs and oil money, and poor cartoons). 2. We were told by the clubs who spent multi millions over the years that you couldn't buy success. 3. We were told that regardless of how much was spent, we would always be small. 4. We were told that the owners were just indulging themselves and would get bored and saddle us with debt. Now, 5 years down the line: 1. The media now wax lyrical about our style of play, and the silly Arab nonsense and oil money doesn't get airplay/newsprint (mostly). 2. After winning the FA cup and the league, we are now accused of buying success. This, having been told that you can't buy it. 3. We're now in the top 6 of the richest clubs in the world. Small my arse. 4. The owners are investing a ridiculous amount of money in new builds across the road from our stadium to make sure that we bring through our own players in the future. They also have plans to improve the stadium to 60,000. Bored my arse. Basically, the owners are top notch and they LISTEN. The filthy Manyoooooooo, Arsenal, Liverpool and the others have tried everything they can to undermine the project, from Financial Fair Play, to using their media friends to print anything that is detrimental to the club, but it was all wasted. All I can say is enjoy the ride, I've certainly had a brilliant 5 years. We beat Manyoooo in a FA Cup semi final, won the FA Cup, won the league, beaten Manyoooo so many times (1-6 at their place) it's now expected........you'll love it. Amen my Blue Brother, Amen ;-) "You can't buy class" - £42.5 Million on Ozil.
  4. Another City fan from Manchester dropping by to Wish you (Us?) fellas all the best. As a City season ticket holder for 27 years I can fully understand the doubts and trepidation from a few of you with regards to where your (Our?) club is going. When City were first taken over by our most handsome and wonderful Sheikh it at first just didn't feel right at all to me. Despite being over the bluemoon with regards to knowing our finances/debts were in a far better state, I honestly felt a little dirty. I felt the takeover somehow questioned the essence of why I was a City supporter. Part of the city character/identity was (And in a sense still is) being the under-dog, the team without a pot to piss in, the team who would almost always get patronised by both media and other clubs fans...and I knew all that was about to change. It terrified me. Weird, right? Wanting to cling onto medicore performances because that's pretty much all I knew. But as I saw what our owners were doing, not just at the club, but also in the local community I started to feel much more ressured and fully supported their vision to where they wanted to take the club. Football supporters are a fickle species. Once you start hammering your opposition all your doubts will be a thing of the past, trust me ;-) Our owners are seriously the best in the world who are professional to the extreme. They just quietly go about their business with the intent of improving the club. It really is that simple. I really can't see the owners making any huge dramatic changes to aspects that greatly affect the clubs history. I'm pretty certain there will be no major changes to colours/badges etc and if there is it will be respectfully minimal. You're (We're?) in for one hell of a joyous ride over the next few seasons. Lets enjoy it together.
