happy to be wrong, but the way i "next season" given the article is in Sept (soon before the coming season and well after the prior season) is that next season means the season after this.

of course it would be so much bloody easier if they just listed the season it finished (20/21, 21/22, etc).

    edit:

then again we did finish the 19/20 season in August, so the timing of contracts could have been different too.

They did list the season it finishes. Check Berenguer’s section. End of 2020/21 season.

They are going to push the "senior" players all the way. I can see PK being faced with some tough selection choices.

Exactly what we want. Brings the best out of every player with that kind of competition. Probably can’t keep them all for too long but we’re set for another season or two at least.

  3. To call him a failure is too harsh but he was just ok. Not really his fault; it was a free swing of sorts and if he turned out to be a genuine talent then we would’ve been even better than we were but as it turns out, we didn’t need him to be a star.

Maybe we could go after a player like Nam Tae-hee if we are wanting an AFC player. Probably not much money left in the cap.

The rules are crazy, the rule for the ball for out of play etc "the whole ball must be over the the whole of the line" so why is this not the same for Offside ie,the whole of the player must be over the whole of the line not his big toe or finger or indeed his arm or foot. Which brings me to the line drawn by VAR is what i would call a pencil line not a line the same as on the pitch which is about 10cm wide so in my opinion if a players leg  or any part of him/her  is on the line they would have to be deemed onside, but at the moment as the line is so thin i cannot see how they rule the player to be offside if they are not protruding OVER the line by at least part of their WHOLE body. .

I think the Premier League are using thicker lines next year. IFAB should introduce a mandatory thickness. Would be a good start.

  5. Found this guy's thread buried on page 5.

Congratulations to him. Really stepped up when Atkinson went down and made that RB spot his own. Never really put in a bad performance and gave us a lot of attacking drive.

To cap it off with a goal in the GF is pretty special. I think he's finally found a home here after a few stints at a few clubs. He'll have to work his ass off to keep out Atkinson but he looks up for the challenge.

  6. Talk about sliding doors. What would've happened if Atkinson and Nabbout had signed for Perth and fulfilled their contracts?

We were so fortunate not to lose them. Atkinson started off the season strongly and ended it even stronger. His injury took him out of action for a couple of months but he was instrumental in the GF and Finals Series. Nabbout was the catalyst for our Premiership. He flicked the switch on our season and we became a juggernaut with him one of the driving forces.

It's worked out great for Atkinson and Nabbout, and of course City. The only losers here are Perth.

Luck plays its part in all successes but it looks to have played a big part in ours with these two blokes remaining City players.

  7. Atkinson terrific in the first half but quiet in the second. Tilio got it for me, was instrumental in most attacks. Honourable mention to Berenguer and Galloway. Colakovski did well. Honestly I could give all players credit. There weren’t many, if any, poor performances.

Can't let the game go by without a special mention to Steve Corica...

What a fukn disgrace you weasel faced, entitled slimy rat fuk.

Just listened to his presser and how he reckons the home town reffing won it for us. And how 'Bratsy didn't deserve red and how it wasn't a pen.

How about showing some class and respect you greasy whiney Muscat wannabe. Seriously.

Anyone with half an eye could see we instantly took control after Atkinson's goal and Brattan's second yellow was just the first nail in the coffin. Really, he should have had about 3 yellows before that. And Caceres being the useless fuk he is, just let Luna get in front of him before clearly stepping on both his calf and foot. Ratface even had the nerve to say that Baumjofuks award winning dive in the second half was the same as our pen. Huh?

Anyway, that's about as diplomatic as I can be. So proud of us boys.

Old beady eyes is always gracious in defeat. Sad little man. Don’t expect him to be happy or overly generous to us but show some class. We deserved it fair and square.

I must say, and I didn’t actually notice it at the match because I couldn’t see it from that distance and didn’t get a replay, but Jamieson was actually protesting Brattan’s sending off. Pretty interesting I thought.

  9. Fuck what a feeling. I was consoling myself for weeks before yesterday with the idea that win/lose/draw, this Finals Series wasn't really that important because a) it was heavily compromised and b) Finals football is silly...

But after winning it, I realised that it means so much more. In our league it really does matter. So to do this and do it well, especially after the heartbreak of last year, and the fact that we did it given we'd lost our three best players because they were representing our country and Noone and Nabbout...it's pretty special.

We're a very good team and a strong club, with a lot of loyal fans who have put up with mediocrity for a long time, so I'm just as happy for us long suffering fans. The atmosphere was incredible.14K but it felt like the stadium was full. Hopefully we can achieve this, at some point in the future, most weeks. That's what football is about.

And we're not fucking done yet.
