Id rather have him for the year but our visa's are taking so how would they work around that? For me id love for him to be here whether it's a year or 10 games it would be a good coup for the club.

Im all for an FFA cup, im against the Finals after the a-league season but i don't see them going. It's just in our tradition to have the seasons 2 best teams fight for the prize in 1 game, like AFL, NRL, Domestic Cricket it could go on.

As much as i'd prefer no finals, i don't see it happening in Australian sport, it's part of our tradition where the 2 best teams play off to win the ultimate prize. What makes me sad is the fact that whoever finishes 1st gets a rather pointless "premiers trophy" or what ever, i mean We have Premiers who are the mariners atm, and champions who are the roar, yet noone values the premiers, we either need to make a bigger focus on the premiers and make it mean something or scrap the finals, which as i mentioned before wont happen.

I like it everything but the last point, we have to see where our league sits in terms of ranking for ACL, Maybe winner of FFA cup or perhaps team that finishes 3rd goes into an ACL qualifier match against another asian team?

this is where we need the FFA cup, i think the FFA cup will slightly solve this problem. While the a-league is still trying to compete for attendences and ratings we can't afford to compete with AFL/NRL, the season dates and format is fine IMO, however as i mentioned just before FFA Cup during Pre Season will sort of help, more friendlies perhaps, and maybe bring back the pre season cup they used to have?

I still think Gray is our answer down back now that Hamill is gone, dont put Gerhardt in CB, Gray could take that role if needed, I'd still like to see another CB signed however, keep our depth going, whether Gray starts or not he is an option down back. Just a question now guys, now that Hamill is on the verge of leaving, will this make Good stay for 1 more season? Or is Good going to leave regardless? We could certainly use him, but surely a place in Newcastle United (however limiated his chances may be) is to good to pass up?

3 at the back wouldn't suit the heart, tried in Derby #5 for the first 30 and went 1-0 down aswell as conceded a penalty, went back to 4-3-3 (i think it was, correct me if im wrong) and within 10 minutes we were 2-1 up, 3 at the back wouldnt work.

Yes but where does it leave us? Are we going to continue to produce youngsters and sell them off after 1 season? In that case we will be stuck around this position, young inexperienced team who have potential, but sell potential to asia/europe/middle east. How long can we produce youngsters for?

He is no doubt the best keeper in the league, and only 20 aswell, who would you have infront of ryan as best keeper? He saved the mariners so many times, against us at AAMI Park comes to mind......

i know this 100% WONT happen, but maybe gray can be our "guest" player (if he qualifies for a guest player, don't really know the rule on that) for 10 or so games if Hamill and/or Good goes till the Jan window so we can get another defender, that means as Gray will be guest player, Owen could become a our last visa spot, wishful thinking but why not

Is it it just me, or is Good not really EPL standard? I know Good would most likely be loaned out to a League 1/League 2 team but his not an EPL player, same goes with Ryan for mine. Best GK in the a-league but right now his not EPL standard however i do see potential in him to become our next schwarzer.

Havn't seen any post about it, nor do i think im posting in the right section, but Matt Ryan has been given a trial at Tottenham for a week. Now I personally don't think he will be signed by them but if he is it's a great move for him, the national team and the a-league. Even if he doesn't sign his potential is being seen, thoughts?

I dont know about you guys but i hope that any a-league club who makes the ACL do very well (except for victory obviously, if they make it i hope they get smashed) it can only benfeit our game, if Adelaide win it good on them, our league isnt quite good enough to not want aussie teams to win as it can only benefit the whole league.
