Had a chat with my old man and his mate, who both work together coaching many years at a reasonably high state level of football and both think Kisnorbo has lost the team already and believe he doesn't have much of a clue what he's doing.

We've got a strong team. No way are we bottom four. In fact we should be top 4 as a minimum. Bare minimum.

They basing that on what they have seen on TV? Or something else?

Sadly and TBH I think it's just a dream. If CFG really wanted us to have our own stadium it could buy the land and build it and take the money out of petty cash. I'd rather see us have a decent squad with top-class visa players and marquees and go out there and win the League and ACL on a regular basis first.

Well id normally agree with you JW but I’m surprised that CFG are forking out more money for a facility only 5 ish years after they built Bundoora. So I’d say in terms of the stadium, they would if the gov comes to the party and the move to the SE pays off I think it could happen eventually.  Also if WU’s actually gets built that will add pressure.

if that 5k seater gets built and youth and women’s teams use it, it might be a bit of a yard stick for the full size stadium

  3. Unfortunately it seems like human nature is a bit once bitten twice shy.  So im not surprised the NSW gov hassnt gone harder, because they havent had to experience what happened in Vic. All we can do is hope is that what ever they are doing works. But, the more cases, the harder it gets as its more people who you have to hope are properly isolating.

Its not a good sign that this Syd outbreak was started with two people who knew they had symptoms just ignored it and went out anyway

Seen a rumour that the new Home for the Matildas will be at Bundoora, perhaps they take over the facility’s.

In all fairness the Bundoora site is too small to host all men’s, women’s and youth teams.

lol no its not. Just go walk toward the west and youll see a vast expanse of space. In fact they already use the pitches that are already there.

I know we joke about this from time to time. But IMO it's a serious issue, right throughout the media. I happened to drop into a cafe this afternoon and have a coffee, picked up The Age to have a look - and there was not a single mention of football in the 4-5 pages of sport.

All of the media companies are cutting back so I am not surprised. I’d say they will keep the Sydney based writers and fuck the rest off. I am not even sure the HS has any football writers at the moment

So I have heard that either the whole club or just the women's side will be moving to Casey fields and a new dandenong stadium built, move being driven by Matt Windley as team 11 finished. Announcement soon supposedly

Anyone else hear anything? And no it's not from a certain mike on Twitter.....

I’d be very surprised if we moved from a 15 mil facility only 5 years after it opened.

I hope we stay in Bundoora for good. Have been there since the start and the majority of our members are in the north

  7. People have to remember the club really has no control over what merch Puma give us. Its more of a you get what you are given. I am also starting to believe that the red issue is something that the club is on board with but its CFG that are blocking it

The Aussie teams have been particularly stitched up by the salary cap cut this year, so imo its more than reasonable to ignore this years results.

In saying that, the longer term trend over the past few seasons has not been great either so its not an unreasonable concern.

Ive always taken the view that i think wed handle ACL better than most Aussie clubs cos our squads have batted deeper. Having quality options at player 16-21 benefits teams in the ACL imo, although weve clearly seen its not necessarily the formula to win the HAL. HAL seems to favour the clubs that have the strongest XIs.

I am actually of the opinion that any aussie club that plays like us is doomed to fail and the only approach that works for Australian clubs at the moment is a defensive counter attacking style.
