After blowing 700k more than we should have last time around, there's no way in hell the budget would stretch anywhere past 150k maximum, performance bonuses included in that.
Ideally a one year deal containing a slightly improved base rate option for the 2nd year depending on KPIs being meet.

Think the whole class blitzed the releases mate. The litmus test into your oracle like abilities is yet to jump from the barrier, time shall tell but it's made for good reading none the less.

Out of them all I was most impressed with Maycon.
Manure goes for $2 a bag, that mother fucker sold it for an 8 month holiday and 50k+, what a dead set legend I reckon.

But seriously it's a hell of a task for a club with a budget of bird seed like ours to find a week in week out type. Can only live in hope!
Bit more decent service from the mids never goes astray though and maybe with someone that can produce killer balls along with Fred a charisteas type could potentially kick around 15. Who knows but a list of soon to be out of contract journeyman would be good reading.

Yes definitely we need to keep Good, right now I rate Hamill more TBH, but Good is only 19 and a solid defender already. Long career in store for both of them considering defenders usually play at the highest level till fairly old ages.
Honestly, I will probably cop shit for this, but I wouldnt be too bothered if Hamill and Good were our first XI central defensive pairing next season. Though I would prefer a really high quality older defender to be signed (eg Madaschi, though thats not happening), and Colosimo to leave.
I'd be happy to have those two starting next season as well, agree Hamill does look the slightly more advanced but Good is well on pace with him.
WANT LIST
Baically the same as everyone bar the CB really.
1. I'd like to see Behich move to the wing and have us chase a strong experienced leader type left back. This gets more time into the two young blokes but still offers some leadership down back as without Bolton it's lacking although Hamill's voice will only get louder next year im sure.
2. Another creative mid for obvious reasons.
3. An energetic goalscoring front man also for obvious reasons.. Not so much sold on Angelos, record doesn't speak volumes and isn't currently bagging goals in a division that suggests he probably should.

Well that is true. Seeings as it's not going to happen in the near future I'd like to know how much of a part he plays in 'finding' Roars imports.
He or whoever is responsible has an eye like Bart Cummings compared to others and could be a worthwhile avenue to pursue.
As for the mentoring role , now I know this will make most people roll their eyes and laugh but what about someone not football related?
I often wonder what someone like a Paul Roos could offer an A-league club and it's been answered with this mentoring role.
Very smart man, good analytical brain and has been at the highest level possible in the county and dealt with all that comes with it. ie. pressure, players, budget, media scrutiny etc etc
I couldn't see it hurting Ante having someone like that down at the club once a week or every fortnight. Not for tactics or coaching drills but the other 90% of what makes up a head managers role.
Did notice Ante's birthday is tomorrow and Aries are leaders so that's one positive for the bloke.

Generally pretty happy with life overall sorry Gobi, until I think of the sinking ship of a club that I feel passionate about then I'm not so happy.
Also I much prefer the so called miserable cunts in here, as you so eloquently put it. These are the ones that are also clearly passionate about the club and want to share their opinion. I don't agree with all but that's life, much rather them than your prolific posting ability.
We're two years old. A week ago we were all over the moon to have even gotten to finals. I don't see how that achievement is diminished whatsoever. Next season we aim for more. Simples.
Speak for yourself thankyou. I've developed a nasty Flexeril habit trying to get thru this year's performances. The inevitability of how it was all going to end could have finished a week early for health reasons.
Having said that, I think the scoreline flattered Perth. Immensely.
Honestly I feel it was about spot on although maybe biased as I backed overs and Perth to win.

Ya forgot to include Curtis Good? People can bang on about Duga, Eli and Behich all they like about a touring Europe career but I'd put money on Good and Hamill actually making a mark overseas.

No idea on contract situation and obviously highly unlikely seeings his home and no spring chicken but he still puts them away.
Stats suggest his pace, dribbling and header skills are still well intact. Be interesting to see how he would go.

Yup sure is. Managed to knock of Chelsea I think it was, bit of highlight really as what micha says is true, anyone who's played it over the years knows the basic recipe to success. Problem the 1st two seasons in the HAL was acquiring the players to suit the tactics that I had previously used in a european save.

I'm in a real conundrum come kick off next season. A good friend and all round top bloke has come around for all away games, come down to some home games and been over for every one of the few games I couldn't make it to. I said in jest during the year that anyone would think his a Heart supporter having seen more of them this year than his chosen Victory, who he has supported from day dot albeit not madly passionate, nor paid up nor died in the wool but perhaps in the way a lot of us would support The Storm for being Victorian. He mentions the other night about perhaps jumping on board in 2012/13 where I then offered to buy his membership next year(non drinker so it's basically a taxi for no more than $350, massive value imo). But myself having been indoctrinated as a child to follow an AFL team along with family friends doing their best for Melb Knights, I cant imagine ever bailing ship on a chosen team no matter how light the support.

Who lets a 3rd year leave after being chosen and placed to work one on one with the most expensive employee in not only your businesses history but the national trade. Heir apparent was chosen long ago when they went with jvs. Looks like an intended 3 year plan/investment which of course may or may not payoff and has been brought forward. They would have been hoping for a decent reduction and while there may have been a little room to move our final offer wasn't close, money talks. Club just biding it's time having thrown a few diversionary media releases, busy crossing the t's, some time passes and news is released. No murmers of unhappiness from players so he appears to have there backing. I'm looking forward to it to be honest. Birth of the club was focussed on foundations but this current evolutionary period is about the cattle. Bets were placed long ago on the successor and its all in. Get the cattle right and if the gamble pays off the return could be huge. Goes wrong and its potentially lights out or years of battling and struggling while getting by on tv rights.
