  1. I don't wish to sound like a critic, brothers and sisters but I'm kind of forced to make a point about the meeting.

I have read a couple of posts here, and on FB, about possible non-attendance due to the inconvenience of having to commute in from <insert outer Melbourne suburb here>

And like to respectfully remind them that some of us are making the trek from literally hundreds of kilometers away.

Inconvenient... you bet... but that's just how bloody important this club and its support is to me. The burden of distance is secondary in inconvenience to the loss of our active support, our atmosphere, and our soul. This club is of the highest importance to me (second only to my family and close friends), and I won't allow a 600km round trip be the pissy thorn of regret to my reasons for a no-show.

For those "umming and arring" about coming or not, I respectfully urge you to consider the consequences of us just giving up altogether. This is our chance to be heard by a group of like-minded supporters, who love this club as much as you do. I understand that some have family/work commitments and if so, this post is NOT targeting you! However the vibe of our club and it's active support are worth saving, then a dash across town to the Impy is not to much to ask or you.

Who knows, you might just have a bloody brilliant idea to share with us!

Make your voice be heard, make a small sacrifice for your terrace, regain the atmosphere, and let's get the team rising in 2014/15.

    Who's with us?

Catch you at the Impy on Monday night!

I am a Manchester City fan and I will tell you what I think will happen...

Melbourne City FC will be the name, we changed Hyde United FC to Hyde FC after helping out financially and changed all seats to blue from red also.

The badge will be changed to blue as Hyde FC's was also.

The home kit will remain red and white with a blue away kit, this also happened with Hyde FC.

The ground will remain, as the Etihad Stadium has no relevance to the club.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyde_F.C.

This is my opinion but is the most likely course of action.

I think that we all can live with this likelihood. MCFC have purchased us because they see a potential in growing our club, they are not coming in to take away our identities and Melbourne City FC is a good, logical fit. They can modify the away strip but the home strip is sacred to us and they know it. I am doubtful that a juggernaut business icon such as MCFC would change a great deal of our identity, after all it is bad business to alienate the existing fanbase in order to increase the numbers in the terraces. The last thing our exalted leaders will want is a factional fanbase between the Heart originals and the new potential fans, we can see how it is working between the North/South Mongs at Etihad and we can really unite behind the cause instead of shitting in our own backyard like the Blue idiots seem to do each week.

Also lets be honest. The only people that have been talking about the colours are us, the media (which haven't used any facts or quotes) and a handful of city fans or non-heart supporters stirring shit. Man City have said nothing. All they have said is they will listen to us to make the right decisions and don't plan on making a mini-city. They chose to buy us, we didn't run to them saying please buy us, we'll do whatever you want. I don't think it's their intention to piss everyone off and destroy Melbourne Heart. Not when we can so easily become part of their global brand without going all Spanish Inquisition on our arses.

The announcement has really shaken the non-believing pricks up, hasn't it? I copped a smartarsed quip from a Mong this week only for me to reply with; "We can buy anyone, do anything, and at anytime we bloody well like...be afraid, and enjoy the good times while it lasts because the bubble that is MVFC, will burst soon! Sleep Tight! - Naturally, I haven't heard another thing back since...funny isn't it, how a simple truth put in plain English to a simpleton can be so effective (Heaven knows, after last night's tweet from Archie Mongson they need all the simplicity they can get)

  4. One of my next planned creations is a flag as we're lacking some bigger flags at the front.

Looking to make a tricolour flag with this pattern as I think it looks cool. Stripes and checks have been done, but I haven't seen any triangles. Good for football as it's good to play in them.

    What do you lads think?attachicon.giftriangles-flag.png

Don't like the grey looks abit dull.

Maybe swap it for a dark red.

Other than that, looks good. Hopefully get it made nice and big. 2x2metres

The plan is to make it roughly 3m x 2m, double sided.. Hope that's big enough for a flag

    Here's a sample with a dark red

    attachicon.giftriangles-flag-red-white-darkred.png

    liking this.

looks like it should belong in the Curva Sud Roma...

I like the design, but maybe instead of grey add some gold or darker red...but yes, great pattern and will look awesome as a larger flag. Great work!

  5. If the lads want to organise a recording session, I can facilitate and

edit for the app, just let me know if you're keen.

I have a mixing console i can loan out at no cost to do this Bozza...let me know and ill arrange to get it to you asap

  6. Tired, emotional, physically sick to the guts, fed up and have lost faith in God!

However...I will not lose faith in Yarraside or our team (even when they play like fucktards) No boycotting...ever! If some of us can make the trek up from Warrnambool, Bendigo, Wodonga, Rutherglen, Gippsland, Shepparton, Geelong, and other regions..then we don't want to hear the word "boycott" from those who live in the burbs of Melbourne. I will be there on Friday, yes Im fucking tired, and honestly thought that i might have been having a mild heart attack on Saturday (for real...not figuratively!) I've never felt so physically depleted as i did after the derby, i wanted to scream but could barely whimper!

But I'll be there at the Impy pre-match, i'll be there at Y-Side during the match, and as rooted as I am feeling...glad i made the trek!

NO BOYCOTTING! ONE IN! ALL IN OR DIVIDED WE WILL FALL - GO HEART! HAIL YARRASIDE FOREVER!

Melbourne Heart sold to Storm owners for $9m

Ray Gatt   The Australian   December 23, 2013

OWNERS of embattled A-League club Melbourne Heart are understood to have agreed to a $9 million sale of the club to the same company that owns NRL club the Melbourne Storm.

Rumours of the sale swept the sport on Saturday night as the Heart slumped to yet another loss, this time 3-1 to arch-rival Melbourne Victory in the Melbourne Derby at AAMI Park.

It was the club's 16th straight game without a win, keeping it rooted to the bottom of the table and putting further pressure on under-fire coach John Aloisi.

Aloisi is struggling to retain his job, but that has been overtaken by the events regarding Heart's sale.

The Storm is owned by New Zealand entrepreneur Bart Campbell, having bought the club off News Corp Australia (publisher of The Australian) in May.

Negotiations for the sale of the Heart have been going on since the start of the season. The Australian reported on October 10 that a sale to the Storm was imminent, though co-owner Peter Sidwell said at the time there "was no truth to the sale" on the eve of the season opener against Victory.

Sidwell did not reply to The Australian yesterday. Heart chief executive Scott Munn denied yesterday the club had been sold.

"We have been approached numerous times in the last year. We are on record saying there have been six or seven approaches, some that have been absolutely inappropriate, some that have been interesting," Munn said. "But the club is not for sale. We will continue to talk to people if they want to help grow the club, to invest in it and help improve the league. It would be foolish if we said we didn't."

Asked if the Storm had bought the club, Munn paused before giving a more considered answer.

"I am not privy to who owns the Storm. All the talk is about me and the club," Munn said. "As I said, we have had different approaches and the club's owners have a clear goal to deliver in the long term for the success of the Heart."

A former barrister in the New Zealand High Court, Campbell is regarded as a mover and shaker. His company manages All Blacks superstars Richie McCaw and Dan Carter.

The Heart, which is understood to be one of the few A-League outfits to turn a profit last season, was also the target of a huge approach from Victorian state league club and former National Soccer League giant South Melbourne, but that was turned down.

Meanwhile, Munn says Aloisi remains under pressure while taking a swipe at former Socceroo Mark Bosnich, now an analyst for Fox Sports.

Bosnich upset the Heart camp and Aloisi when he asked the coach during an interview after the match if he would consider resigning in the wake of the club's poor results. Aloisi hit back saying, "Bozza, you don't know me well then" and "I am not a quitter".

Munn defended Aloisi. "John is the ultimate professional and Bozza is paid to give an opinion, one that is not necessarily an educated one. But that's fine," Munn said. "Fox Sports is good for the game, but Bozza probably lost a bit of respect from some people after last night's silly statement."

From whom Munn, you flog? Bozza may be a shit-stirrer and a bit of a dick at times, but it was a fair question that needed to be asked and long overdue. Aloisi handled it like a spoiled brat with an "oh yeah Bozza? Well you're not invited to my birthday" type of childish response. Bozza was merely asking what a "overwhelming majority" of fans want to know, and to say that it was an "uneducated" opinion just shits the hell out of me...when are you going to get an education? The almost record breaking string of losses, the lack of spirit or direction on the pitch, the lack of respect shown towards fans or critics, the ridiculous money pit that is the #Believe campaign when there is fuck all to #Believe in, your hero JA belting his chest at Y-Side and "screaming; I am fuckin heart, I am fuckin Heart" ( not so bold to try that bullshit again this week, were you JA?), yet it is Bozza and everyone else who is "uneducated", Scotty? Bozza is paid to give an honest and experienced opinion, you and your flog mates are paid to make us a winning team...so learn from what was asked, and fucking leave our club NOW!

  9. i'm from Warrnambool

Why have we not been car pooling?

Bloody good question Jimmy...so unlike the club, let's come up with an instant solution and get in touch...come to the train station at Warrnambool (i work there as a conductor) and give your details to my desk staff (or ask for Andy) it saves posting our details all over the net...chat soon in person. AJ

  10. I was suprised of the ages of these guys. Surely one of them is in his 30's! Which means we have passionate supporters of all ages!

I'm in my 30's tony999! What is surprising about someone in their 30's following Heart?

Im 36, passionate, foundation member, and stand at Yarraside every week...as do quite a few 30 somethings. Age means fuck all when we all must suffer a team with the silliest name in the league..."Heart" the team that plays with none! So, take note of the 30 somethings and their sign...sack JA now! Or some of us thirty somethings might show you what a heart really is...and drop dead from one attacking each of us! BTW: well done in standing your ground against the cops and acg flogs...if we can't voice our disdain by saying it directly, then the club is living in a fantasy world. (its not like the sign said; "Aloisi - fuck off and die!", but if thats what it takes to be noticed?)

Catch all the rest of you 30 somethings at the Adelaide game...no retreat, no surrender!

  11. Aloisi says there are "positives" to come out of this dismal performance...the only positive will be Virgin Australia losing his fucking luggage between Brisbane and Tullamarine (or them finding the drugs he's clearly taking, stashed in amongst his socks) what an arsehole! Grow some balls MHFC board, sack the fuckwit NOW!!!
