saying this might send the forum into meltdown.. But at the derby on sat night in the chairmans function I did hear a whisper that there's a chance Mooy may be gone in a couple of weeks..

I hope to god it's not true, and to be honest it would be a kick in the stomach to the supporters since JVS has come out and said we are not selling him this season.

Although it could explain the Troisi rumour. Unless he qualifies as a guest of course, im not sure how else Sydney or MV would fit him under the cap

You would never rule out anything happening in this type of business you only have to look as far as the whole saga that eventuated with Fabian Delphi.

However I believe selling mooy mid way through a season is basically throwing in the white towel on the season. There is no player their that was listed that could fulfill the form and value he brings to our squad.

If Mooy is sold it is more than a kick in the guts it's basically telling supporters who gives a fuck about this season.

I have never been a believer of super David, last night though I think we won a corner and he was walking parallel with the active area trying to pump the crowd up. Was brilliant to see from someone that I thought didn't give a stuff.

I found the player to crowed involvement last night to be exceptional, I really enjoyed the passion shown from sorrenson.

Is this really what we want? A gimmick, a circus? I'm by no means certain that this is what clubs or the league need. I'm inclined to the view that I'd rather we build a squad of players who are committed to the club longer term than have some sort of show pony for a few games. So we get 10,000 more through the gate, but they disappear when the show pony leaves. Very ambivalent about it all.

Perhaps they will leave but what if a 100 of those thousands decide to stay? I'm up for the gimmick as long as it doesn't affect the team or results. However after last night performance there is maybe David Williams I would drop from that squad.

we dont need another winger ffs use gooch as a winger

    get us a fkn lb

Not a fan of gooch at the moment behind melling, Chapman, retre and mauk in my opinion. Chapman is the only one I just listed that is out for a long period of time. With the additions of Hughes and koren back in the squad I can't see any room for the gooch.

  5. I think there is too much over sized emphasis on an a league team playing a big euro team. Whilst it would be nice for Melbourne City to play a big Euro team I see there being no positive advantages. The public already know we are owned by a big European side. There is nothing appealing about watching our club being beaten by a European team that is in the middle of their pre season. I'm happy for our boys to stay low key, even return to Manchester for a pre season. The results on the field is what is going to get our fans/ members and playing entertaining football (which we are starting to do).

  6. Guest player is a shambles at the moment. FFA seem content on having little exposure and having the a league grow at a very slow pace. I would be happy for Keogh to be recognised as a guest player actually enjoyed watching him play and guess what he scored goals. Not as much as a flop as some of those guest players mentioned above.

Did Ange say the biggest name or the biggest signing? The two are very different. An EPL star in their mid 20s is a much bigger signing than a big name at the end of their career.

David Villa had the potential to be big but was a flop because some parties were not understanding of the move.

I was reading The Guardian newspaper before I posted. In their press it seems that the relationship between Mourinho and the team is in terminal breakdown and that both Fabregas and Oscar have been accused of undermining the team. They certainly don't seem to be playing with any enthusiasm for the coach, the team, the fans or themselves. It is not unusual for teams to go and shop in January and to release or loan players out. If Chelsea's owner backs Mourinho, it is likely that these two players could well be sent out on loan or sold and new players come in - which is where I thought that the A-League may come in as a guest stint. And given their current form, they are unlikely to command the salaries that they currently have. Of course if Mourinho is replaced the new manager may decide to keep them but it seems that these two are under the pump. Also, it still is in my mind that Ange said that the biggest name player in the A-Leagues history will come be announced in January - and yes it may be wishful thinking but wouldn't you mind having either of them playing for MelbCity?

I understand your wishful thinking. However I fail to see how fabrigas or Oscar would be a bigger name than del piero or David villa.

Just wondering - if Koren departs in January, the club would need to look for a marquee. Now, given that Chelsea are in all sorts of troubles and if Mourinho survives could a Chelsea player become available that could fit in for the remainder of the season or as a guest player? If so who would be most likely or best option? Fabregast? Oscar?

There could be issues with the FFA but given that they are desperate for a name player to ignite greater recognition I am sure that they could be persuaded to bend the rules a bit.

Do you read over what you write before you post? I mean in what realistic world would fabrigas or Oscar who are currently playing at one of the big clubs in the epl be sitting there thinking "fuck it might give the a league a spin"
