Kalmar does seem to be too injury prone. Its unfortunate though as he is a very good player.
I agree about Tadic, he seemed to come across like he thought the HAL was beneath him, even though he hadn't proved anything even to this day. With attitudes like that, we don't need such players.

Not sure how you could not be excited about this season, shapes up really well.
I agree but with some reservations. The coach and players now have to deliver, which has been the hard part for us.

That's the first game we've played out of Melbourne that we got anything from since December 2011. It's a start. Last year we would have conceded 2 goals on the last 6 minutes. Is Andrea Migliorini on a trial or is he definitely signed as an injury replacement?
We did get 1 point at Allianz Stadium (SFC) in 2012-13.
But yes, getting anything for us is a win at this rate

^^ Its a good deal really. Who knows, someone else may get injured knowing our luck, and he could take their role too
-
^^ If he doesn't perform, no potential avenues will open up for him, so both parties have something to gain here.
He may enjoy it and want to stay around longer. Who knows.

Its pre-season in conditions that really were not good for football.
Would have been great to get a win on the road, but I'll take a draw.
I agree, sign Migliorini if hes even half as good as he was made out to play today.

Bring on the Maltese Messi.
The rumour is (no idea how reliable it was) that Brent McGrath is trialling now at MV. Can only hope if they sign him he doesn't score against us
-
Considering those conditions, its been a decent performance.

Is this a sign that Epping Stadium will become our permanent home base? Interesting move, as I thought that Thornbury was a better location.
-
Marcel Meeuwis, did we even sign him, I lost track of him, is he alive?
Oh that experiment.. Rather not remember that one
Good thread this one.

Still a number of pieces to add in coming weeks which gives me some confidence, but the Engelaar injury certainly seemed to make us lose some momentum.
These couple of matches over in Perth hopefully will be valuable for us. No use peaking too early anyway...

They will bring seats forward to get ppl closer to the game but not for the derby match!
I hate the shityhad. Why wouldn't they do it for the biggest game of the season
It reduces capacity to bring in the stands.
It certainly makes a big difference to the atmosphere though.

4,629 - foundation membership just renewed and bringing in 3 mates (one is Dutch and signed up purely for Engelaar just days before the injury!)
Damn, at least he still has one Dutch connection in the side, and should still get to see Engelaar later in the season if all goes well.

The height is an issue if we play like we did last year, lobbing balls over the midfield and hoping. Its the A-league so we can just drill crosses and Mifsud seems to have enough skill to bury them. I feel he'd fit in well...if we get the ball down and play, but thats a big if knowing JA
One would hope with players like HK and Murdocca in the side that we can change that.
Can only hope I guess.

Redmayne
Walker Kisnorbo Weilaart Behich
Gerhardt Murdocca
Kewell
Dugandzic Ramsay
Mifsud (?)
Bench: Velaphi, Vrankovic, Germano, Kalmar, Mebrahtu
Yeah, I would go with that line up also.
Certainly a more dynamic side than previous seasons.

If it is misfud, I'd be a little disappointed in the 'marquee' tag, but from the footage ive seen, I like the cut of his jib. A speedy little terrier that can really finish. At 5'5 though he'll never be on the end of an Aziz cross, but then again neither would engelaar. And Gerhardt will have to out his long balls away.
One worry is at his previous Maltese club, this bloke has also been scoring goals for fun http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denni_Rocha_dos_Santos
I am happy to be wrong here (in regards to Misfud), in fact I hope I am. Will apologise to you profusely if he proves himself as a quality striker in the a-league. I hold my word, ask sharpy. Can you explain to me why he is a hack?? He played for the Jets, was a hack.
What???
You've lost me cause he's never played for the Jets
He was talking about Denni Rocha dos Santos who played for NJ, but now is at Valletta.
As for MIfsud, would be happy to see him at the club. His highlights certainly show some very good goals, and certainly an ability to be in the right place at the right time. Can only hope he can continue to replicate that here if he does sign.

The ad is fine.
Seriously, what can we expect? It features our biggest name player and effectively communicates its purpose.
