Scott Munn told me that he went overseas to speak with sponsors, no signings
If this is the case then why has he said on radio to expect 2 new signings?
I think one was wheelhouse but where is the other
-
I thought I would wait till after the victory game to see how it sounded to pass judgement
And to be honest I'm not a massive fan of the crowd yelling the last name, apart from when they said Bru I couldn't tell what they were saying.
Might be worth a try but there needs to be an improvement in the scoreboard when teams getting read out IMO
Here's what I think
- we read out opposition like we always have (number 3 Adama Traore, and his picture comes up)
- after all them have been read out, you put up their full team in formation position
- now for us, however the name gets read out (either by announcer or by y-side)
Number 4 Simon Colosimo
- up on the scoreboard is some game vision of the player doing something, then it freezes and COLOSIMO comes up on the screen
And so on
- at the end again you put the whole team up in position formation
With the way it is now, we have no real difference to the opposition
-
Joey Barton to join Heart and become captain/coach/president
Only if he puts on a funny Australian accent in his first press confrence
-
Interesting to see what JA does
Does he keep Babalj playing as that number 10 in behind the striker who I assume would be Merbrahtu or does he shuffle Garcia to the middle. Merbrahtu to the right and Babalj up front
-
Now I might cop a bit for this but I thought Williams was poor, he is up against a 17 yr old first gamer and it took till the 88th minute for him to get around him down the sideline. Also while GolGol is on he can't take corners or free kicks
agreed about williams for the most part, but seriously didn't you see gol gol's free kick? he's also the only one to score directly from a free kick this season. a fuck load better than others who blast it 10 metres over the goal or straight into the wall.
sat in GA level 3 with me old man and my mate, he seemed bemused for the first 20 mins or so but was enjoying those giving it to large to archie. hopefully he'll be back. self enforced ban of getting drunk was a shame, could've done with it.
went to cherry afterward, full of shit cunts so went home to bed.
I think you have misread my free kicks comment
While GolGol is on, Williams can't take free kicks or corners
I want GolGol taking them

Pretty disgusted with a lot of our own fans last night. Mainly the derby specials. Had an incident with a bunch of drunk misogynistic non-chanting wankers guys in the row behind me. Spoilt a lot of the night for me. Disappointing when the effort on the pitch was actually very heartening.
Hope we can build on that for next week. Tadic injury another blow for us but thank goodness we've got Eli back, and there's always DMac rotting in the reserves too.
D-Mac hasn't played since Adelaide game. He also is injured
Groin IIRC
-
Tadic has a broken toe
Didn't get taken off for diving
-
The yarraaide is much much better than them
Was it just me or did the sing the same song all night. I was fucking over that we are Melbourne, the boys in blue shit
On to the game, well the effort was there but they are a very polished unit
Redmayne was superb
Walker kept Rojas in reasonable check, Mitchinson was killed by Thompson
The midfield didn't hold onto the ball well enough, after their first goal we gave the ball up the next 5 possessions
Now I might cop a bit for this but I thought Williams was poor, he is up against a 17 yr old first gamer and it took till the 88th minute for him to get around him down the sideline. Also while GolGol is on he can't take corners or free kicks
Now onto etihad that is the worst place to watch football, they can move the bottom deck seats in so why don't they?
And also was it just me or could no body really see the scoreboard, the vision was blurry

if its carney we need to make a chant about how he has small hands and smells like cabbage (Austin powers)
It's not Carney, clubs made enquiries about Carney and he wants to have one last crack in Europe
-
Ok so we just pick 1 off that quite sizeable list
-
I heard that as well on SEN today
Its actually Munn saying that he is in Europe looking for a European based Australian
I sent in a SMS asking about if they knew if they were looking at Valeri and they just spoke about Valeri being a good fit but didnt know if he was a chance
-
I wouldnt have thought Hoffman was a viable option at LB either, but it was done
Because JA felt we did not even have a NYL player capable of playing the position, such were are injuries...
You have inadvertanly backed up my point
We didnt have a NYL player (Mitchinson) for the position last week, but now the same player is apparantly ready against the best performed player in comp
Dont get me wrong Id like to see Mitchinson play, but i'm not sure if JA has the same ideas as us
-
I wouldnt have thought Hoffman was a viable option at LB either, but it was done
EDIT - also I dont think Babalj will start
-
Looks like we take to many risks and haven't learnt:
Skoko was a risk and didn't pay off.
Fred was a risk and we can't get a full 90 minutes out of him.
Grella was a risk and lasted 22 minutes.
Gary was a risk and has played one game in which we conceded 3 goals.
Shall I go on?
Bad decision making. Heads need to roll and I blame JD and JA.
Im not trying to defend the bloke but the 1 game Gray played none of the goals were his fault
IIRC
Goal 1 - Hoffman decided he didnt want the ball anymore 5 metres outside box and Fenton ran into open goal
Goal 2 - Marronne pushed Brockie fair and square in the back on a cross, penalty
Goal 3 - Vrankovic went walk abouts and left Brockie alone in the box, and Bolton should have done better
-
I still dont think Mitchinson will start, JA didnt have the confidence in him last week, I cant see him having the confidence to have him this week against Rojas
-
I think he is worth taking for rest of year
Hes natural position is the position we need and he shows a bit of aggression and he shows that he cares, something we lack at times
Also it's another natural leader to the club
We could do worse I think
-
Munn said that he is Europe to talk to 2 Australian players to play for Heart
He said something should be announced in next 4-5 days
-
Yeah I wanted to ask if that would dictate a formation change but JA gave the impression we will stick with 4-3-3. And then someone asked an incredibly long question
I thought he answered that - there will not be a formation change. He said moving to a 4-4-2 will not work.
I reckon we're gonna see Golgol, Eli and probably Vrankovic (demoted after giving away the penalty) on the bench this week. If Kalmar starts again, I see Golgol replacing him and Eli replacing Thomo(?) and playing behind Tadic ;-)
Who is playing CB then? It seems clear it won't be Gray
-
why would babalj be out LR9? also mebrahtu said he would be fine for this week didn't he?
The club has said that Eli is no guarntee to play this week, he is sore - I would have thought he could pump out another 15-20 mins though
GolGol is apparantly ok, but really we cant be sure as the club has still never really told us what the problem is
-
Foschini doesn't really get a run for them now. Ferreira plays rb
Ferriera is suspended
-
Just for anyone wondering, im assuming this is how Victory will line up
Coe
Foschini - Leijer - Ansell - Traore
Milligan - Broxham
Celeski
Flores
Rojas--------------------------Thompson
So the need for a real strong CB combo isnt needed as needed as in other games, so im not against Gerhardt pushing up to DM to take Flores
Garcia has to play as the AM, the role Fred usually plays to make Milligan accountable.
Williams is one of the keys this week, in first derby he got around Foschini every time, hopefully he can do that again
Also if GolGol is fit I think he needs to start, he played with Traore at GC, so hopefully he knows how to unlock it to get around him. and he will also make Traore work back defensively
-
I hate David Carney but unfortunately we'd have to look at him. Better option than Hoffman and only if he takes a wage of $100k or less. Is he clubless?
I know he got cut from his Uzbekistan club (the ones that Adelaide played in ACL - Bunyikor or something like that)
and I believe he is clubless
-
I could think of a lot worse options
Might definitely be worth looking at
-
My team now
Redmayne
Walker - Gerhardt - Gray - Thompson
Germano - Kalmar
Garcia
Merbrahtu - Tadic - Williams
Bolton - Mitchinson - Babalj - Edwards
Thompson played a bit a LB for Newcastle, here is his chance to regain a bit of supporter support against Rojas
I would prefer a bit of expirience over Mitchinson who I think Rojas would run rings around (because of his lack of expirience, not his ability)
Also people saying season over, were still 6th. If we can sneak a finals spot I can guarntee Victory or Adelaide wont want to play is in a knockout final
Round 19 - Visitors FC v Melbourne FC - Sat Feb 2 7.45pm - Etihad Stadium

I had this problem as well, I sat on bottom level reserved seat (my old man supports the other team and this was his only derby he could get to so we decided to sit in a neutral area)
Anyway when we scored me and about the other 10 heart supporters near jumped up
We got told very quickly to sit the fuck down
So I gave them a bit of "SUUUUUPER SUPER DAVE" which they thoughrly didn't enjoy
