  1. Ridiculous amount of whinging on this thread
  2. Would say yes but we have enough wingers. Obviously none of his quality but still his not the type of player we need. We need a genuine striker.. Nuno Gomes, Roland Linz, Ivan Klasnic, Kevin Kuranyi, Louis Saha etcHe played striker for kaiserslautern I am pretty sure, and was the 3rd top scorer in the bundesliga one seasonCould be thinking of his twin brother Hamit? No I am fairly sure it was Halil. Anyway he has signed with Ausburg tonight so it doesn't matter. Snapped up so quickly. Only became available on the w/e

  5. I don't know, we out played them for most of the game. We should have put them to bed early. As drcolossus1 stated previously they are south American champions, which says a whole heap about how well we played and what a good result a draw is.
  6. De Silva should have had a second. But you have gotta take a draw against Colombia.
  7. That being said Misfud captains his country and has amassed over 90 caps - predominantly against European teams and in WC / Euro qualifiers. given the ranking systems and that Malta are usually ranked down the bottom in terms of seedings then Misfud normally would be playing against a better class of opponent (ie Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Portugal and even Hungary). He has a decent scoring record for his country, thus pointing to the fact he must be alright if he can score against much better opposition than the the team he plays for on a regular basis. Shit teams he scored against: Iceland, Canada, Jordan, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Liechtenstein, Austria, Georgia, Macedonia, Central African Republic, Luxembourg, San Marino, Armenia. Decent teams scored against: Slovenia, Israel, Finland, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Norway, Greece, Croatia. 25 of 37 goals were scored in Mickey Mouse games. 5 against Liechtenstein. Lets not get too excited. He's a legend in Malta. Malta. Not worth a visa spot. Nothing to see here. When did finland, Norway and Israel become better than Austria?
  8. Will be purchasing one. Looks the same as Utd's away shirt last season COYA!
  9. I just want a player in a Heart shirt to finally score 10 goals or more in one season! I just want a player in a Heart shirt to not have Hoffman written across the back I jusst want Hoffman to score a hattrick!
  10. I'm still hooked on Empire: Total War - the game is so much fun despite obvious flaws that I hope Rome II will rectify. Very well thought out game though, and because they don't have to worry about American and Indian theatres they can really focus on making each region capital (like Milan, Rome, Pompei) similar to the actual city. I'm also excited to lead 1,000 Spartans against 10,000 Carthagenians or Celts. And hopefully they make the story mode longer and more in depth than the American independence one in Empire. http://wiki.totalwar.com/w/Factions I love the idea of having to keep political rivals in check, which was an aspect I felt was lacking in Empire. Just reading all the additions to the new game though makes me so excited. Fucking September release ffs with no chance of a Beta.. I also learnt a shit tonne of the World's geography in Empire especially in South America and India so hopefuly the educational value of the game is still strong. I got empire first and really enjoyed it. It is just so hard to find an online game to start with, let alone one which the host hasnt so far biased to their advantage. Anyway I came across Rome later and the gameplay just seemed a little smoother. Your cav weren't on the main part useless like they are in empire, they can actually make a charge and get out without breaking. Hopefully it fulfills expectations
  11. What is your point? Simply the difference in funding between Arsenal with a shopping budget of $110 million compared to our stretching our budget for what we class as a marquee. Nothing we didn't know already but perhaps helps to put things in context when talking players and funding. I took your point, but Peter, it's not really relevant. You're comparing the war chest of one of the top clubs in the world with that of Melbourne Heart? AFAIK few A-League clubs have paid a transfer fee - the only on I have been told about is MV who apparently paid a fee for Hernandez - so basically our clubs have to look for players who are out of contract. So we're competing with other clubs in terms of wages, conditions, other factors such as Australian lifestyle etc., rather than ability to pay a transfer fee to another club. If we're going to look at MHFC in terms of its ability to pay transfer fees then IMO we should be comparing ourselves with smaller clubs around the world in lower leagues rather than those in the EPL and the other top leagues in Europe. And the transfer fee is not the only thing. The player still has to agree to the move. In Holt's case, he might well end up with a choice between ending his career in some place such as Grimsby, Derby, Hartlepool or Accrington, or with 5 years as a fan favourite at MHFC. I know which one I'd choose. would take the Hartlepool gig
