It's looking 90% sure that JVS is staying now, next season is already a write off if that is the case. Happy to negotiate a wager with anyone that opposes this view.

If John stays for the entire of the next season, I'm happy to have $250.00 that we finish higher than we did during the regular season this year, baring the irregularities from this and any next season.

Did you not read the rest of the thread before posting this?

Obliviously not Jimmy, thank you for your post and enlightening me I should read all Tesla posts before I post in a thread. In future should I see a post from Tesla where  he  states next season is a write off and "happy negotiate a wager"  I really should read further just in case his mouth is writing the cheques to pay the wager. As staff you  obviously  new   he may later  clarify that City  would need to finish 3 positions higher next season than this year at the end of the regular season for this not to be considered  a write off. Thank you Jimmy, staff member of the year for me, as long as you finished 3 places higher than  last year :)

And if they win the grand final I will have to concede defeat and accept another ten years of JVS in charge.

This is the thinking I am worried about.

Even if we do go on to the grand final and even win it, the fact remains all complaints made about him at the start of the season are still huge problems when you look at the season as a whole. Inconsistent? Check. Plays players out of position or not used properly? Check. Boring? Check. Players not motivated for important games? Check. 30-35 win percentage? Check. And so on.

I will be over the moon if we win and I will l be there Friday night cheering City on too, but really we have no business being in the hunt for the most prestigious prize in Aust football and its only down to the FFA's comical format that we can have a season like ours and only be one win away from a grand final spot. But I'm sure this type of thinking will be seen as irrational and I'm not a true fan etc etc. and we can do the whole thing again next year because people will judge him on three matches.

You're worried that a manager wins a grand final for the club you support??? Check...you are a XXXXXXXXXX

We have no business being in the hunt for the most prestigious prize in Aust football?? Check. We played be the rules... you are a XXXXXXXXXX

Here's idea why don't you stop ragging on city..

Send my ban notice to "you cunts will never be happy"..................

Are we wearing our away strip of Red and White ?

Probably not. It wouldn't fit the CFG narrative. I hope we do though :) .

Why don't you 2 suck each others dick till there RED and see who shoots WHITE spunk all over the others RED  face first?

Gallop has said that Perth will have their ladder position adjusted to 7th at the end of the home and away season and miss the finals. What isn't clear is what will happen if they finish the season in top position? Will they win the Premiers Plate? It seems ludicrous that they could but Gallop did say that their position will be adjusted at the completion of H&A season

No, they won't. Because the H&A season will not be "finished" until Perth have been moved down to seventh.

It's the right way of going about it. It's both punishment for the club (they have been fined as well) and for the players who have been a part of this. Whether by omission or commission doesn't matter - anyone who is being paid via a family member and who doesn't suspect that to be irregular is a complete tool.

Tony Sage and Jason Brewer have been made to look fools. And rightly so.

Unless I've missed something Tony Sage has stated all along he would sack Jason Brewer if the allegations were proven, as far as I can see he would only look like a fool if he didn't follow through.

  6. I have a Premium A Family Membership and have been waiting to be advised about the 'Invitation to three post-match member and player functions and closed training' as well so called just now and Mel said  "2 of the  three post-match member and player function's have already occurred". Apparently they were advertised in the newsletter we receive, the next one is right after the Wellington game, at Edwin's Cafe. Mel also said we should be receiving our invites to the closed training session very soon.

  7. Don't need a striker but for what he is he seems decent enough.

lol, 'Don't need a striker' our makeshift strikers aren't worth a cold pie IMO, Williams, Duga & Brown would be lucky to start for any other A-League team. F@%K  me they would be lucky to start in the W-League if the had a sex change, l'd rather put Hoff upfront least he know were the goals are...

Fully agree with the above. Sadly it is very tough to move our players on,

You mean players like Williams and Brown that jw mentioned? Both JVS signings.

Why don't you just start a 'I hate JVS thread' ?? rather than posting virtually the same thing in every thread??

Koren was perhaps the player I was most keen to see this season (more so even than Villa), so I've found it very annoying how long he's been sidelined.

It is a good point what has happened to our 4 Visa players, that were all out of action by the 2nd half of yesterday's match. IMO during the Melbourne Heart era every season we got our Visa players wrong, and unfortunately 2 of those Visa signings from the Heart era, Germano and Wielaert, have been carried over to the Melbourne City era.

The silver-lining, for those open to thinking about it, is the team put in yesterday's solid 2nd half performance with 0 Visa players and with 0 marquees. It was an all Australian, all under the salary cap team, and they were able to get the win.

Imagine Adelaide without Cirio, Ferreira, Isaias and Carrusca.

Imagine victory without Berisha and Milligan.

Imagine Sydney FC without Janko, Brosque, Dimitrijevic, Abbas and Petkovic.

    Seriously are you JVS?

Seriously, take your I hate JVS to the Sack JVS thread...

Oh good, these old and tired arguments again.

As much as some like to pretend that real life is like Football Manager or something, the simple fact is that in the A-League, and with our team, there was zero possibility of a complete rebuild between last season and this season.

    - Andrew Redmayne had his contract extended by Aloisi in 2013 until the middle of 2016

    - Rob Wielaert was signed up by Aloisi for last season and this season

    - Iain Ramsay was signed up by Aloisi for last season and this season

    - Massimo Murdocca was signed up by Aloisi for last season and this season

    - Jonatan Germano was signed up by Aloisi in 2013 for last season and this season

    - Nick Kalmar was signed up by Aloisi in 2013 for last season and this season

And Dugandzic, Garuccio and Mauk were also signed up by Aloisi for this season, which were Aloisi's only signings that aren't deadweight, and with only one of those players (Dugandzic) being a senior player it is a very poor recruitment record.

So almost half of the team, 9 players, for this season were signed up by Aloisi. And only 1 of those players would reliably make a positive impact in the senior team, Mate Dugandzic.

And Then there were a few re-signings by JVS:

    - Patrick Kisnorbo

    - David Williams (was the Aust. Marquee, but was re-signed inside the cap)

    - Tando Velaphi

    - Jason Hoffman

    - And Paulo Retre from the NYL team

No one disputes that Kisnorbo was a worthwhile re-signing. Re-signing Williams inside the cap was worthwhile, especially if the club brought in another good striker like Kennedy. I was disappointed with the re-signing of Hoffman, but he could very well be a low-wages signing. Ditto Velaphi was probably a low wage signing, and I can't think of too many other Australian keepers that are obviously better than Velaphi and would be prepared to accept low wages. And further if Hoffman and Velaphi were signed on low wages, as is very likely, then that would have enabled the club to bring in Aaron Mooy, Erik Paartalu and Damien Duff inside the salary cap, which is very hard to argue against.

So all up, Aloisi ensured that a whole 9 players would comprise this season's squad, with the majority of them not being good enough to grace a top team, and JVS and the other football staff had effectively nothing they could do about that. It is a myth that contracts can be torn up just because a club might change its mind about players. Therefore, only by next season is it possible to effectively get rid of all the poor squad building that Aloisi did with Melbourne City's squad, as only by then can the players Aloisi signed, in particular the first 6, be removed from the squad. And with next season's recruitment likely to follow the standard set by this season's recruitment--Mooy, Duff, Paartalu, Koren, etc.--expect next season's squad to be light years ahead of this one.

Oh good these tired arguments again. If JVS had a squad a superstars he could actually win something blah blah blah

Insert lengthy post about why all statistical evidence to suggest JVS is not a good manager should be ignored and none of his track record is his fault.

Introduction: Your all irrational for thinking JVS is a bad coach with his 30% win rate in two half seasons.

Paragraph Two: Facts that don't support my argument but are Facts all the same.

Paragraph Three: I am so very rational

Paragraph Three: In fact I am the only rational person here.

Paragraph Five: Stats, Facts and more fucken irrelevant Stats.

Conclusion: Like my Post because it's way too bloody long for anyone to read... and liking it will make it look like you read it and are therefore look smart.

Such well constructed quality post, I'm sure MENSA will be knocking on your door real soon...

If we look like playing finals 3 games out I'd have him back in a heart beat, playing him off the bench for the last 20-30, quality is quality... Just my 2 cents..

If this happened, I would lose a lot of respectability in the club, and i feel the A-League itself would loose credibility. The finals shouldn't be a publicity stint.

Quite right "The finals shouldn't be a publicity stint. " they are about winning. As far as losing respect for the club, why?? its every clubs duty to do their utmost to win games/finals/grand finals, he is allowed to play 6 more games as per FFA rules don't see a problem here.

/villa scores goal to win 2015  Grand final for Melbourne City, like to see if your cheering or not....
