  1. Arsenal for me. Went round to my Uncle's house at the age of 12 for the afternoon and had nothing to do so I switched on the TV and stumbled across Arsenal vs Southampton in the 02/03 season. Had no idea which teams were good or bad or whatever, I'd never watched a football match in my life as most people had advised me against it because apparently it was a 'shit, boring sport'. I decided I'd give it a go and really enjoyed the game. Despite Arsenal losing something drew me to them, they played fast and and I liked their kit so I decided they were my team.

I'm currently lucky enough to have been able to get over to London for the last month and attend some matches for the first time, and even experienced an FA Cup victory and the celebrations in Islington...absolutely amazing stuff!

You came so close King Malta

I understand you not wanting to follow an English club like Southampton F.C. ( we are a plastic / bandwagon free zone )

When you could have a foot in both camps by picking Arsenal, then enjoying the Saints best youth.

  2. The topic is " ideas for improving yarraside for season 2014/2015"

Not my problem with the yarraside core is ....

I stand at the back of the Bay 16 active area and never new this went on.I go to the impy before most games and everyone is happy to say hello.

I`ve even been able to stand next too a legend of the yarraside megaphone on the odd occasion  lol

As for the one`s complaining about not feeling loved, just carm down.

  3.

We pretty well much played 2nd spot off the park, if it wasn't for some questionable descisions by the ref, or better conversion of goals, we would have wone easily.

Your right moops.  At one level this means we are all ticked off that we still lost, but at another level it shows "we are close".  A classy central defender to play alongside Paddy k is a must for me.  Way too many soft goals this year.  If Man City (Australian franchise) bring in say 3 top players they'll be up there with the other 2 Sydney teams next year.

IMO Wielaert is one of the major disappointments of the season. Just not athletic enough to do the job required. Unfortunately we have him for another season.

One thing I do hope for the future, and I think we will get from the CFG scouting network, is that we cast a wider net for our overseas players and not focus so much on The Netherlands.

Your wrong about Wielaert and why single out the Dutch.

Have a think about some of the south Americans we`ve had like Maycon.

  4. Hi from UK yep city fan, with a twist on the yes or no debate. If you were to vote no and not support the club in the future and the club started to play fantastic soccer and dominate the league would you become a plastic fan and jump back in and support the club?

    No

The issue is the colours, not the results on the pitch. The name change is fine with me,but we stay red and white.

  5. How many will change there position if we kept colours, but changed name only?

My view is Keep our colours, they are unique and probably the only geniune football team colours in the Aleague. City is better than the Heart name. Heart as nickname.

    +1

  6. I have an idea for next season.

I watched a bit of Portland Timbers games in the past and noticed that they use smoke machines whenever they score a goal.

Their kind replicates how a pyro goes off and I thought these machines could be used at our game(knowing that roar uses flames and ccm use a cannon)

Thought this would keep the atmosphere going and discourages people to bring their own flares to games (or maybe not?)

Well if it discourages them we won't have to deal with innocent people getting nicked or bad media coverage. also keeping the FFA happy with club behavior and no possible punishments to be used. I'm not sure if the smoke from machines would be more health-friendly compared to smokies or flares.

If people like the idea, would this have to come out of yarraside funds if people try to go ahead with it or would it be possible to negotiate with the club for them to purchase the equipment, arguing that clubs like roar or mariners have their celebration equipment funded by the club (surely?...)

That`s a good idea too use smoke machines.

I`ve been to a few Feyenoord games and it looks fantastic.Seeing the home end covered in smoke as the players come out.

Trying to convince the club to pay for it would be hard though.

  7. Says he, rummaging through the WPB...

8,941 vs. Sydney 15th November 2013. (Next was 8,734 vs. CCM 19th October 2013 - first home match of the season.)

    5,046 vs. Newcastle 17th January 2014.

The highs against Sydney would appear to be ADP - but how they dropped after one season!

Plus that prick Lucas Neill had just signed for SFC after useing us.Alot of pissed off Heart fans came to boo him.

  8. Report I read after the game apparently police didn't organise the away fans of cambuur to get into the stadium properly. Essentially lead them up to an area filled with I assume Either vak410 or f-side. Cambuur fans were pelted with stones and bottles and police ended up having to draw weapons to force Ajax back. Would really think the Dutch authorities would have had this kind of thing better organised by now. Supposedly occurred because Cambuur were considered a low risk team by police.

    It`s a shame they didn`t fire :D

    Rotterdam > Amsterdam

  9. got kicked out because some douche from the protest called us unaustralian and said this isnt england when we where having a chant, even though the union jack is in our fucking flag we started from convicts from england and ireland but yet where not australian im as aussie as anyone i hate pricks who think australia is some culture WHERE A FUCKING MULTICULTRAL CITY STOP BEING RACIST PRICKS LIVING UP TO THE NAME AND ACTUALLY DIVERSE YOURSELF AWAY FROM IT ffs so angry.

Was this before the game or after ?

  10. In the video of the team training you can see Kewell is running freely. :D

The last 30 minutes of the game is when we`ll run over the top of them. It`s like night and day on the pitch now with JVS pulling the strings.

At the last Derby there was victory shirts here and there at the South end.A quiet word before they sit down usualy does the trick and they leave. ;)
