jw1739
And Victory win the final edition of the 2022 FFA Cup. From now on it will be known as the "Australia Cup." Edited February 5, 2022 by jw1739

MHFC-FAN
The bottom 4 teams just finished the playoff for the round of 32 draw. Perth and WSW both knocked out. Newcastle and Brisbane are through to the 32. Good for us that if we do go to W.A it will only be to play npl opposition.
jw1739
IMO this competition is still only half-way there. A proper "open draw" should see the teams first out of the hat play at home, irrespective of whether they are an A-League or Federation club.

MHFC-FAN
Western United knocked out by Sydney United!! Quite the cupset especially considering Sydney hasn't gone past the round of 16 before...
MHFC-FAN
Another massive cupset! Sydney United beat Brisbane Roar to book their spot in the final!! Would be pretty epic to see them go all the way, however I think Macarthur will nab it unfortunately...

The fact that only two A-League teams have reached the semi-finals indicates to me just where the A-League is at the moment. Pretty deep shit I think. KSK_47
Seriously, every time we get a chance to showcase how amazing our sport is, we do something to fuck it up. The thing holding Australian football back is its fans

Tommykins
There are several parts of the NSL that I enjoyed a lot in the few years I followed it - but this stuff is in no way surprising and is in no way an isolated incident. Tbh I think the whole incident may be a blessing in disguise. Too many people have forgotten the very good reasons why most NSL clubs were prevented from joining the A League at the start. Momentum has been building for such clubs to join a national 2nd tier with the eventual goal of pro/rel. This should serve as a reminder why they were rightfully left behind and why they should stay there. 5
