This will be so he can leave for AS Nancy without any COVID19 complications as soon as we play out the last few games. Its also a dry run of Kisnorbo's ability to be the manager IMO. As mentioned elsewhere, City are looking to save money on players coaches  and back room staff and that was the tone before the COVID19. paddy would be cheap is a known figure at the club and has an insight to playing style directly via Mombeart.

Even if he wanted to, it's unlikely that he'll be able to travel internationally for at least 6 months. French and Australian borders are closed, and there's no football anywhere apart from here. Oil prices have plunged so there'll be less money in the kitty

He’s not going anywhere was just a rumour that city shut down straight away. No other news on it. He’s on a 3 year deal just speculation and good thing by the club to leave him in Melbourne no point in risking his health when we have the rest of our games in Melbourne.

He’s on track to bring us our best ever points tally.

This is from Al jazeera " https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/03/coronavirus-travel-restrictions-border-shutdowns-country-200318091505922.html

"France

French President Emmanuel Macron announced on March 16 that France's borders would be closed from March 17.

The French leader, however, added that the country's citizens would be allowed to return home.

The EU's external borders were also shut for 30 days from March 17. This does not apply to US citizens departing France to return to the United States.

Flights from China, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, South Korea, Iran, and affected regions in Italy arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris are met by medical professionals to answer questions and take into care any person presenting symptoms."

I think that Mombearts will be seriously considering returning to France. It may happen very soon. I have heard he has elderly parents etc and City would not deny him a return on that basis alone. If COVID19 worsens, which it will IMO, he might not get back at all. JVS contract mutually terminated on similar grounds so city could allow Mombearts a return for family reasons then offer him the AS Nancy Job so they don't lose him from CFG. If paddy continues to have wins then i would put money on Mombearts leaving once there is mthematically no chance of us losing second spot. Mombearts will have achieved at least one of the  metrics of his appointment - ACL qualification. (yea i know it may not happen but he cant control that)

BTW i hate the idea of losing Mombearts, but i am just looking at the situation and putting 2 and 2 together on this.

Yea overall, I think how well a sport team (in a lower tier league) performs is the least of anyone's concerns at this current time

Well I think as humans we need the distraction. So if they can, play on. Things are fucked enough right now

Completely disagree, the distraction just fuels the problem.

Everything has to be shut down, soccer the casino everything that is not essential for survival. Everything.

Yep right on. I watched last night but the feeling is somewhat hollow. What is coming will be brutal.

All true, but there are very few flights. The best thing he can do to help keep his parents safe is to not visit them

A big thank you to whoever did this, let's be honest he is way way better than that prick Joyce and has the team playing like we have always wanted .

So true, unless he losses 3 in a row then he needs to be axed.

Is this to do with this French CFG club?

Anyway if we win it this year I reckon its a 90% chance he goes

AS Nancy. Not yet a part of City Football Group, but talks apparently "on" again. The latest official acquisition was Lommel SK in Belgium. I'll be very disappointed if he leaves, but with so much uncertainty over the game in Australia I can understand if CFG move him.

That would be a killer blow, but given the economics rumours  around the A League, very believable.

I doubt we’ll ever sign a manager of his pedigree again.

So many questions about the future - not only of football in Australia - that I'm not really thinking too far ahead anymore. Like the rest of my demographic it's more a matter of getting through each day. I've signed on for next season for a particular reason, but that's all I've thought about so far.
