jw1739
Christ, we just had a hell of an earth tremor here in Sandringham. 9.16-9.17. The whole house and contents shook for about 10 seconds and my head spun. Crockery on the shelf was shaking.

Lasted for about 20 seconds and the floor was shaking so much I thought it might break apart! Hope you and everyone is safe.

NewConvert
Well, you call that an earthquake? we call it a temblor. Hilarious seeing so many people panic. My bucket list only has a tsunami, avalanche and meteor strike. Then I would have done the entire list of natural disasters. Time is running out though. Still to come! Try moving to California, maybe your thirst for natural disasters will be satisfied there 😁

Plus I use to live in Japan

I was in PNG in 1998 when they had the Aitape Tsunami. Fortunately I was in the Highlands though and thus well removed from the event. “Fun fact” is it became the then most thoroughly studied Tsunami in history and helped build the understanding of them. I guess the mention is topical as I’m currently reading Hugh Davies “Aitape Story” right now. I could give you some suggestions of places to live for avalanches or tsunamis (spoiler-Melbourne is out) but can’t really help you re-meteor strike I’m afraid.
