An announcement is expected on Wednesday morning on where the decider between Melbourne City – who have earned hosting rights courtesy of winning the Premier’s Plate – and Sydney FC will be played. Confirmation was expected to have come on Tuesday that the final would be played at Melbourne’s AAMI Park on Sunday with at least 50 per cent crowd capacity. However, an announcement didn’t come as the Victorian government took its time in giving A-League officials an indication of how many fans would be permitted to watch the match at AAMI Park, which has a capacity of 29,500." kingofhearts
There's no way it can be played in NSW now anyway, they have more active cases then us. Has to be played down here, crowd or no crowd.
Shahanga
The government are worried what might happen if they cross their masters in the AFL.

Has to be played down here, crowd or no crowd. It doesn't depend on that at all. It's the rules governing "public events" set by the two governments that count. VicGov has been very conservative on this so far - no spectators at events within Metropolitan Melbourne. Will they go from zero to 15,000 at AAMI Park? I feel that every hour that passes without a "yes" increases the chance of a Sydney GF.

Yes, thinking it through, my guess is that AFL has got arsey.

Deluka
At least this rules out the game being played in Sydney once and for all. City can strongarm APL and just say they aren’t putting their players in harms way.

I took the reporting of a minimum whole figure as opposed to the usual % figure as an indication that we will indeed be allowed 50% capacity as reported, while the AFL will only have 25% - just framing the maths differently so the AFL punters don't feel aggrieved since we'll still have a far smaller overall attendance anyway.
