not great, but not too bad.

Pretty happy I got Essendon*'s fall from Grace right.

FMD Gold Coast tho 😳

definitely not great, not that I would have Been much better.

gold coast? Try being a supporter bro! I thought top 6 and then we lost round 1 to Melbourne and I knew the season was over......

It was cagey and low scoring but the second half lit up. Triple M were obviously excluding any game involving Essendon, Carlton or Brisbane with that comment.

you only had to go back a couple of hours earlier with GWS vs Carlton, awful to watch

triple m said it was one of the worst first halves of the season

I went. Game was utterly shit for three quarters. Terrific last quarter tho, even if it didn't go our way.

Pretty good coaching performance from Beveridge I thought; choked the life out of North to take away their one on one advantage and backed their fitness to get them across the line. Like what I see from him as a coach.

Here's the AFL hitting us all with some more political mumbo jumbo.

Seriously, I'm all for gay rights and I'm all for indigenous rights but fuck off with this bullshit and keep politics separate from sport.

You only need to go to local clubs and see what goes on for the reason they do things like this.

that's what codes of conduct and disciplinary committees are for, this is just blatant propaganda

homophobia is a massive blight on the sport but wearing a jumper isn't going to stop blokes hurling out "poofta" insults, the problem has to be addressed directly

Propaganda?. Its symbolism and its critical when you need to change attitudes toward homosexuals playing with heterosexuals. Rules and discipline wont do shit.

If its a WCE vs Freo Grand Final I dont think the Casino will be able to cope with the numbers of Cashed Up Bogans from Perth using the place for all their shopping, eating, drinking, gambling and everything else they do in Melbourne besides watch the match itself.

unpopular opinion: bogans>hipsters.

that western grand final has been the most likely outcome for a month (just the Melbourne media hadn't caught up, given their Hawthorn fetish)

I think its more than they have been caught up with the fact that Hawthorn probably still are the best team... they just should have made more of an effort to finish top two.

Anyway Freo just won so we could be seeing a lot of Bin Tang Singlets real soon.

I just think the media focussed on Hawthorn's best (which of course was very good) and overlooked their inconsistency.

Look if I could Hawthorn bash I would...

It was simply the media assuming that the Hawks slow start was due knowing their abilities meant they could manage players and still enough games to combat their shorter off season which has been the case with both of their last two flags, and both of Geelong's flags in 2009 and 2011.

Edit - I do concede however that reigning Melbourne based Premiers can be over hyped for whole seasons... Collingwood being the 2011 favourite right up until GF Eve in 2011 despite Geelong beating them both times that year (One of which was a thrashing and still did not remove the Pies as favourites in most of the media's books) was just plain stupidity.

That thrashing was in the last round where we already had top spot secured and i'm pretty sure the earlier game was where we lost by 5 and the ump killed us by not letting advantage go when pendlebury slotted it from about 50 in the last couple mins

great seeing the doggies out, everyone should be behind adelaide

Mate you lost the Grand Final convincingly so the games looking back were obviously a good indication of bloody form... and that thrashing was what allowed Geelong to know for sure whatever the score on GF day that they could crave Collingwood if they played their best footy.

lol

That's my reaction to the Highlights Video of the 2011 GF when you see Cloke getting all up and about in the first half before Lonergan got moved on to him and put him to sleep.

The point is if a Horse wins the Turnbull and the Caulfield Cup and then goes on to win the Melbourne Cup... the earlier victories in hindsight obviously were strong indications of where things where heading even if he wasn't the favourite for the race.
