What are people's thoughts on the offside ? No doubt in an offside position but wasn't interfering with play (blocking Tando's view) and didn't contribute to the goal overall so was it an offside offence ?, on another day that goal would have been given in my mind

Definitely two if not three MV players were offside as the ball was played forward. And it's pretty hard to argue that you're not "interfering with play" when you're that close to the 6-yard box.

Correct decision by the officials.

But I agree, on another day that decision might have gone against us - in fact, history suggests we've been on the wrong end of those sorts of decisions in the past.

Note Archie was offside in the first derby this season when he scored their first goal so I couldn't care less if the karma train has come around and bitten the tards in the arse.

After seeing the replay it's very touch and go and could have been given the other way. My question is before the shot was hit at Velaphi he glanced sideways at an offside Finkler which you could say caused a distraction for him to save the shot. Could that be enough to call an offside or does the player need to be involved with the ball for the offside to be called?

That performance has left me in a state of shock. I literally can't explain how I feel about this win.

They just showed us they care. They showed us that they didn't want to be embarrassed again.

As a side note, the active support was incredible. I know that scum can be louder with their copy and pasted plastic supporters spewing shit from their mouths. But tonight's atmosphere on our end was fan-fucking - wait for it - tastic. I'd like more help from my fellow GA members so I don't walk away without a voice, so instead I'll be upgrading to active area ASAP.

I guess the other aspect of the game that might have gone a little bit unnoticed, was that after starting strong, the opponent again gained the ascendancy at about the 20-25 minute mark. But not only did City not concede during that period, the players even wrestled the control back and were right on top again heading into half time. Really good signs there.

Full agree with both of the above.

So often players say 'we're still hurting from the last match and want to make up for it', but it's just all talk, and they don't lift for the upcoming match.

Yesterday the whole team put in top class effort all game. The team made a beastly 29 tackles (victory made 11 less), with the midfield dynamos being huge in that regard. The players were definitely all in, and cared and fought for yesterday's win.

Melbourne City had twice as many shots as the other mob, 21 to 10. Indeed, if the team could slightly improve its finishing, we'd have even stronger wins.

And the team is suddenly very youthful, which I think helps the team put in such energetic efforts for 90 minutes. There is only 1 player above 30 (Kisnorbo), there are 3 players 20 or younger (Chapman, Garuccio and Melling), 6 players between 24 and 27 (Mooy, Dugandzic, Hoffman, Ramsay, Williams, Velaphi) and Paartalu at 28.

Seeing Koren take to the field was a delight. Good to see he's up and running, and I'm sure he'll produce a good deal of magic over the remaining 17 games.

Perhaps the cleansheet was the best thing to come out of the match. That's 2 cleansheets in a row, and despite all the pundits pumping up victory's attack all week leading into the derby, we managed to keep them caged, with the other mob only managing 4 shots on target all game. Very pleased to take victory down a peg, and end their 10 game undefeated streak.

Big credit as well to the active support for providing awesome atmosphere last night.

A sweet win, and now it's time for the team to kick on with the positive form.

The ball is in Chapmans vicinity so has already travelled a distance from the initial strike. Not conclusive for me, need the still from the moment it leaves the boot, in line with the linesman.

You're a hard taskmaster.

Try this, just as the ball is kicked.

Three players offside.

In the end it doesn't matter what any of us think.  The man said it was offside, so no goal.  As my old man used to say "read about it in the newspaper tomorrow".

Hopefully the powers that be in tardistan will focus on refereeing and overlook the fact that they lost because they were second best.  Keep doing that and they'll keep losing!

If your offside when someone shoots and it rebounds to you then you are deemed offside. It is still the first phase of play.

I love how Kevin Muscat has a cry about his teams goal being dis-aloud.

Did he forget that Archie scored from being off side in the first derby - to bring the scores to 1-1.  That goal got them back into the game.

This is why Victory are so arrogant.

Short memories.

The offside call was NOT correct but it was offside in the lead up (which wasn't called). Of course, the tards all ignore this because it doesn't fit their tale of constantly being hard done by.

You will also see tards equating Milligan elbowing Antonis in the head requiring 10 stitches with Melling elbowing Broxham in the chest requiring zero medical treatment.

Berisha backing into Kisnorbo and falling over to try and con the referee is also a stone-wall pen, apparently.

Let them believe what they want to believe. They cannot accept that they were outplayed, and I for one am enjoying it.

Fair dinkum they are shocking, Biggest sooks going out.

They lose and the derby means nothing at all to them. They win and the derby is elevated to the point you would think they won the club world cup. They are all a bunch of F***wits

Just in-case anyone was doubting what that word is meant to be...
