TTIM: Things That Irk Me

People who go to music concerts, and hold up there phones recording the two hour set. Is it not enough to just take a photo or two and enjoy the moment ffs?

This, this a thousand times this. My missus and I had a big fight about this a year or so ago. She didn't like me telling her off for doing it. A quick punch to her groin would have saved you the big fight part.

Born in Poland before the fall of communism, pretty sure they were all injected with roids as babies with the aim of dominating the women's weightlifting at 2008 Olympics. Didn't wanna risk it.

Went to soundwave on the weekend and couldn't believe the amount of floggery going on. It's even worse now with these selfie sticks. People put their phone on them and lift it up right in the middle of the crowd, just being a real asshole. Glad to here they'll be banned from future ones tho.

Yeah only on the Sat tho. Didn't go on Sunday to watch the might heart. Was regretting that decision about 20 mins in the game lol.

The new Facebook advert telling everyone how much better the Internet would be with more people connected.

First of all why are you telling me? I'm connected already. I've done my part. Surely if it were true they would be better off spending money on buying poor people computers and connecting them to the Internet rather than make ads aimed at countries where pretty much everyone has the Internet.

And second- the last thing the world needs is uneducated morons moaning about shit on Internet forums

LOL - Moreland City Council is completely fucked just like the Corrupt Councils it replaced...

All it cares about is its Social Political Agenda like its EW Link Court Case and you can literally tell this by when you drive into the area from the Councils surrounding it because instantly there is has a complete lack of street lighting and the condition of all the roads look like they were last repaired when Carlton "won" its last flag.

FFS this is a complete joke. If it cared so much about its name then it would have changed it at deed poll.

I know! How dare the council do that!

FFS this is a complete joke. If it cared so much about its name then it would have changed it at deed poll. Solid use of the word 'it' there old mate.

That's how I refer to them as well.

I am sick of hearing about public servants going on about demanding pay rises and how hard done by that the offer they got was too small.

Come on over to the private sector and see how you go. My last pay rise was 3 years ago but I'm ahead of a lot as at least I still have a job.

Everybody I know from my wife's work who have left the public sector have gone on to earn at least 20pc more in private.

Most people I know just seem happy to not be made redundant.

From what I have seen public sector tends to pay better at lower to mid level positions, but at mid to higher level positions private sector generally pays significantly more.

Yeah these are around the APS6/EL levels that I'm referring to. Only reason Mrs Hedaik has stuck around is due to the maternity leave entitlements and attitudes.

yeh id agree with this too.

you especially notice the difference once you get out of Melbourne where the cost of living is less, so pay is usually less too. Except for the public sector workers who seem to be well off in comparison to private.

Attitudes. Lel my mrs works in government too, and seriously some of the fuckers are that lazy and useless.

But no-one cares because its not their money they are losing. Pretty much impossible to get sacked from a government job.

Seems to be different at Federal level, might just be because her workfriends arent lazy fuckers (or theyve all been made redundant) but they all work their asses off without getting paid overtime like we do in private. There definitely isn't a feeling that jobs are 100% safe there with the chopping block hanging over whole departments.

This - Just compare how the BER money was spent in regards to Catholic/Independent schools who actually cared about they were doing to some of shit the State Schools got given to them. under the Public Service. It was a major bugbear of Gillard's when she was Education Minister.

Can all the leftist fuckwits just try start their 'revolution' already so we can get a chance to eradicate them.

You do realise that not all transgender people are leftists, just like how there are many Gay Catholics/Republican voters and well paid Socialists who from Wealthy Backgrounds who went to Grammar Schools.

My comment has nothing to do with transgender people, couldn't give a fuck about that, but it is clearly a leftist fuckwit and as we already know that is a TTIM.

I spent about a 18 months on secondment to a Qld Govt organisation (as punishment for sins committed by me and previous generations, it would seem).  This is what I learnt from that:

  • Plenty of good people in the public sector
  • Pay is actually pretty decent
  • What is missing is a complete lack of direction, making it easy for careers to wallow and the bludgers to, well, bludge
  • Because of all the rules about how you can treat people, management found the best way forward was to be a bunch of conniving backstabbing bastards

My colleague assured me that I'd seen it at its worst (and I certainly hope so!) but honestly I wouldn't go back for double the pay, even though the hours are a bludge.

The expectations of workers in the private sector are a hell of a lot higher but at least your work is considered important and seems to serve a meaningful purpose.

In regards to the current situation, there is no doubt my & related professions are in a recession, so everything is tough.  It just irks to hear people clamouring for pay rises, when this seems in complete defiance to the rest of the economy.

TTIM: Those Bali 9 cunts on the news all the time

I find the whole coverage obscene. I question whether the sympathy and outrage is genuine, or whether the coverage is just making more money for the parties involved (except the two men, of course).

While completely against the death penalty and finding it disgraceful a country in this day and age would condone state killing. However, I find it ironic that our politicians are complaining about no one deserving to be treated the way those two guys are being treated, when we as a nation are systematically torturing innocent children in detention centres.

I'm no bleeding heart leftie and am largely fine with our strict immigration laws but the treatment of children caught up in the red tape is just as much a national disgraceful as Indonesia's death penalty for convicted criminals. If only our government could apply the same morale compass to our own policy as that of Indonesia's.

I think the increased media cover has actually done more damage to the two men's hopes of having their execution over turned

While most here know my stance on the matter, I must say that those pics from the plane on way to the "death island" are extremely uncalled for but goes to show just how many fucks the indo government give.

Tesla - You know what you should do one day...

You should actually go down to a bar in Brunswick and actually meet some actual Leftist Hipsters.

Malloy - I think the increased media cover has actually done more damage to the two men's hopes of having their execution over turned.

You do such realise that a bulk of the Media Coverage is actually coming from our Politicians and such pleas (I agree not most) have been successful in the past. When lives are in involved it's always worth a shot IMO.

As soon as it became a pissing contest between Abbott & Widodo their fate was sealed. Tony dumb dumb should've let Bishop and only Bishop comment on the matter, she's a far better diplomat than him.

It's also been reported that when Abbott first visited Indonesia as PM he did the old Mark Latham handshake as a show of strength. Bad move

Quite so. And was the same moral indignation shown in the case of David Hicks? Or is the same moral indignation shown towards other countries where executions take place, such as China and various states of the U.S.? Perhaps I am just a cynical old bastard, but I have come to the conclusion that we are taking the stance we are with Indonesia simply because we think we have a chance of pushing them around without too much damage to our economy, the very opposite of what might happen if we raised so much as a whimper against the U.S. or China.

Seriously?

The David Hicks situation is completely different, the bloke saw Australians die in September 11 on Television and decided to fly overseas because he wanted to get in on that and fight his countrymen. The bloke was a Traitor pure and simple.

It also was not a life or death situation.
