This one I can understand. Opportunity to coach in the English league is not to be dismissed.

Well done Super Dario, great opportunity. Would have liked to see him take over from Vidmar to be honest. I think he would have made a very good Men's team coach.

None the less, if you get an offer from an EPL club to coach their women's side would you decline?

I assume that it didn't come out of the blue and that he would have made an application in the first place.

Do coaches have "managers" as do players? I presume these jobs are advertised somewhere? Or are they "word of mouth?"

They have managers so may have put feelers out and a lot of the time the club will call a coach and ask if they interested and go from there but also can send through applications.

Look at Vidmar for men's job you think he called Petrillo or the other way around.

Bayern ended up with option F in their search as people they chased said no

@HughJassI seem to recall that Petrillo called Vidmar. Of course we don't know how many people he'd contacted before that, but after Rado quit it did look as though it was just the old boy network in action.

It always astonishes me that there never seems to be an assistant somewhere else within CFG ready and prepared to come to us. Mombaerts had a CFG connection but I wouldn't have called him an assistant coach...

From my observation is that clubs either "go to market" or "head hunt". At work we normally look internally, then we ask selected staff whether they know of people available/interested and only then we go to market. Given that the coaching industry is relatively small in the number of coaches, I would not be surprised if Petrillo would not have been aware of Vidmar's availability - specially given that they had worked together in the past.

Another case in point is WSW appointment of Stacij (prior to that his appointment at PG as well). Did not go to market and neither did MV. So I don't think that there is anything unusual about it other than whether they were close mates or not. More worryingly is that Petrillo though that his performance was worthy of another contract.
