Popular Post Tesla
In light of a new entity taking the place of our club, we regretfully announce that Yarraside as a group will be disbanding, effective immediately, and will no longer exist in any capacity.Yarraside has and always will be the active supporter group for Melbourne Heart FC, and as Heart now ceases to exist, the decision has been made that Yarraside cannot become the official supporter group for Melbourne City FC.This decision was not taken lightly, but, after being the subject of much debate ever since the takeover was announced in January, the final decision was unanimous amongst the group of 22 senior Yarraside members. We will continue to support Melbourne City out of respect for the legacy of Melbourne Heart, the players and personal relationships we have developed over the past 5 years at football, and will still be present at the games. We are moving aside from the terrace as not to impede any new active group that wishes to occupy the active area.We ask only that any new active support groups respect the history, legacy, and all the hard work undertaken by members of Yarraside over the past 5 years and in doing so preserving the fond memories many of us have.We would like to thank every supporter who gave their time, money and passion towards building and running Yarraside. There are hundreds of unsung heroes amongst the ranks that we would like to acknowledge, and to that effect we would also like to announce that we will be having a function to mark the end of Yarraside as a send-off and thank you to everyone that has been a part of Yarraside over the last 5 years (Details will be confirmed within the coming weeks).

Popular Post belaguttman
I wasn't part of Yarraside but chose to sit in GA behind Yarraside as I appreciated their contribution to the unique AAMI atmosphere. Thanks Yarraside.

MHFCRC
4 or so years of pure pleasure. Cheers to everyone, especially those who ran everything as well as they could, and much much better than the mob across town. Hopefully there is a next group, and they're just as fun to stand with.
xXJawsaXx
Sad to hear, I have had an amazing time in Yarraside, but I understand why this decision was made. Thanks for the memories guys.

Dylan
A shame, as it could be a great legacy of the past. But an understandable position.

CALZALOL
Godspeed chaps, the hard work and amount of time spent for Yarraside to progress as a terrace by the Core lads has not gone unnoticed. Thanks for a good one
Nate
Thanks to everyone involved with Yarraside, I was only in active for the first time last season but what an amazing time I had. The atmosphere was brilliant, the passion from the fans when celebrating a goal was second to none and the overall fan culture was simply superb. And to core, what an outstanding effort with the time, money and support you have dedicated week in and week out.  What happens now then? I'd like to be involved with the new supporter group but not actually living in Melbourne will surely make it hard.
Popular Post Tesla
Who takes over and who gets it all started.So... Now what?I think it's safe to say that a new group will emerge, only a matter of time. We tried to make the announcement as soon as possible, while still making sure the correct decision was made, to give a new group plenty of time to get set up. Good luck to them. The memories and friends I've made through Yarraside are priceless, and hope they have a similar experience.
Young Polak
I may sound like a nerdy cunt but I'm still going to complete my subbuteo stadium with the yarraside banners and flags up in a grandstand as a home end. I don't think I could ever adapt to a new active terrace, this will be my own personal reminder.

MTP
Thank you to all. made friendships that will never be broken, had some of the nights of my life (espicially derby wins. Will never forget the 2-1 win away at Etihad. That night at Bev and Micks will sit happily with me forever) Best 4 years of my life. Forever Y-SIDE.
Embee
Very sad to hear the news but can understand the decision and respect it entirely. Â As has been the case with a few others this season was my first in Active, in fact it was my first real experience of Australian Football and I've enjoyed every moment of it. The Yarraside group have done a magnificent job and have my respect for all the effort and resources they've poured into the Terrace, great stuff lads. Â I too would like to be involved with any new supporter group moving forward.

Popular Post marteaux
Been there since day dot the first meeting at the Imp, through age 13 to now being 18 - Yarraside's been a huge part of my life for my whole teens. I've had to pleasure of being involved with Yarraside for it's entirety and was lucky enough to lead my own crew and it's something I'll remember fondly forever. It'll live on through the mates I've made from it. 'Unsung heros' is an understatement I saw first hand the effort core has put in over the years and they need to be acknowledged for their efforts. I did some fucked up and amazing things with my YS boys and they'll never be forgotten. Good luck to the next group to take Yarrasides place. You can find me at the Imp getting absolutely fuck eyed every game. Edited June 18, 2014 by marteaux

Never was an active support member but all of you certainly enriched my football experience and I'm not sure if any other group could replicate it. hedaik
I went from being by myself on the wing at games wishing I knew 1 person I could go to games with, to shooting on the pitch with a media pass, painting banners and making plenty of friends within a matter of months and it was only due to the friendliness and great environment that the YS provided that allowed this to happen. Thankyou to the current and past of YS who have made my summers so kick arse.

hakz7
Yarraside was ultimately what made me fall in love with this club. Standing in the terrace from the first time I did so till the end was amazing. The memories of singing/chanting and cheering a goal with everyone will always be remembered. Thanks guys.
Dylan
New group should be called the citizens   Its going to be near impossible to top the name Yarraside. Always loved the name. A whole lot better than some of the bland shit going around like North Terrace or the worst one IMO is the shed.
