Murfy1
Any chance of playing 3-4-3 Diamond Midfield. Would mean: ---Paartalu Mooy Duff ---Koren ----Villa Would give us domination of central midfield and allow our running wide defenders lots of room, as basically they can run but not do much else and have 3 CBs to cover. Would make sense, given that we have lots of midfielders, heaps of wingers and no fullbacks. The above formation looks pretty good, with a back three of Kisnorbo Wielaert Chapman, and perhaps Williams and Dugandzic either side of Villa. We played 3-4-3 last season against Sydney at home (for the first 35ish minutes, until Engelaar was sent off), and the team looked very good IMO. So I could see a 3-4-3 like the above working very well. But still I expect the team to mainly play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 next season, if only because Man City roughly play that way (which I guess is something like a 4-2-3-1, where the no 10 largely plays as a second striker). Hopefully we see some of the 3-4-3 formation next season. I'm rather hopeful that we will, and that JVS will employ a few different formations and tactical set-ups throughout the season, as is his wont.
