Season tickets start at about $220 I think

In the A League?

The cheapest adult ticket at City is £250....but you have to take the seat you are given if your lucky enough to get one.

However, we are still one of the cheapest grounds to get into in the EPL. God help you if you live in London!

...which is pretty much where I live. It costs me around £150 for every trip I make to Manchester, travel, game and food all told.

You can't compare prices for tickets in the UK to Australia. Everything costs more here, and wages are higher. $100 may equal about 60 pounds, but 60 pounds buys you a lot more than $100 does. So in terms of purchasing power, the tickets in the UK are quite a lot more expensive.

$100 wouldnt be a good night out here in Perth but 60 quid in UK would be ;)

My parents moved before I was born. I have relatives in their 80s who are still season ticket holders - I had one relative who was asked to trial for the club in 1914, but based on the year you can probably guess how that went. My mum's side of the family have always been City.

And for the record, I do support my local team. I've been to see my hometown side about six times already this season, but they're in the seventh tier and only cost a tenner (used to be a fiver, grumble grumble). I posted some pictures of their stadium in the stadium porn thread back when I first joined the forum :)

I know that things are happening behind the scenes but we have an under performing senior team that has Heart written all over it. Our crowds have gone from 15k to 9k. We are trending backwards and this is not good for the club, the new members or potential members who are still undecided on which Melbourne team to follow.

And is there anything absolutely definitely happening "behind the scenes" that gives us a basis for the hope that we all have?

I keep hearing that the club is "more professional" and all that, but I've yet to see it on the pitch. And I don't call a couple of truckloads of soil at Latrobe to be a step towards new facilities or an academy. And our recruitment stinks.

Hope?

I won't write another diatribe but my primary hope is that CFG see their experiment is a failure and sell to Campbell

In regards to this season, I do see some hope for improvement.

In jan I expect we'll bring in a lb for kalmar or Germano and then with koren Kennedy and chapman coming in we should be a little better

I wonder what did that guy do with the Melbourne Heart tattoo do once we changed out emblem? Poor guy probably had to laser it off.

That guy is me. Pls confirm or deny rumours you died in an ice bath. Was one of the players your spotter and got distracted fixing their hair? Can confirm. It wasn't a player, but can't confirm or deny if it was a member of staff.

Falastur, 4 years of patience is to long for us Melbourne Heart/city. CFG have got the recruiting completely wrong this season. Last season we had a weak defensive line and were short up front. The signing of Koren was a major stuff up. Duff although he has been great they should have signed a number 10 as we deeply need a goal score. If you look at Sydney FC they lacked a number 10 and went out and got Janko. I think CFG need to spend more time in Melbourne and learn the sporting landscape and not go about it in an arrogant way. They can also do us a favour and sack mr Munn and JD

Great post. My thoughts exactly.

I was at the football federation Australia forum on Wednesday night.

David gallop, Damien De Bohn, Aloisi and Melbourne Victory's media man all stayed on to answer questions. Whilst Scott Munn bolted at the conclusion of the meeting.

I had a lengthy chat to Aloisi, and yes, whilst I still hate him for how terribly he managed the club. It was good to hear that he did establish a connection to the club and seemed quite disappointed about the takeover.

In hindsight, Aloisi stated that he felt heart's major downfall was selling their rising stars (good, babalj, Hamill, marrone) for too little and that those players were not really going on to better things- both of these facts are completely evident in how we see marrone and Hamill both back at other a-league clubs.

Finally, Aloisi confirmed that there were serious backroom issues which led to a poor club culture being created. He said this led to a distinct lack of transparency for the supporters who he said he felt sorry for that in the way they were treated.

I cant see the bloke getting a football coaching job again but media will defs be the day to go for him.

Backroom issues like we had a shit coach?

Did you ask him to apologise for being the reason we lost AM?

I guess CFG aren't going to undertake this kind of investment here?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2862444/PATRICK-VIEIRA-MEETS-MARTIN-KEOWN-Welcome-Manchester-City-s-new-Football-Factory.html

Seems pretty extravagent

We will probably get a mini (very mini) version of it. They obviously take their time and do their research with these things. If we got a mini version with a little 5k stadium or so that would be great to host youth games and other things like NPL finals FFA cup matches etc.

What do you mean? The way things are going a 5000 seat stadium will be perfectly suitable for the first team.

to an extent that can be argued. But I feel there is significance in again emphasizing that for the most part- these guys are just as disrespectful to our history and tradition as the arab owners- no need to show any love to these guys when they come to Melbourne, when the owners visit our games- or whenever.

I just wanted to show that all this happy talk at the start of the takeover was far from the real sides of these supporters...

Fuck the mancs. They'll be gone soon enough as FIFA will very likely change the rules so that they can't use us to manipulate their standing in regards to the financial fair play laws and then their one and only reason to have us on the books will be gone.

The next owners (especially if it's the FFA) will likely be far more red friendly and we'll have an even 50-50 split between red and sky blue and we'll look similar to Italy's Calcio Catania.

I don't get why on earth you would go on there in the first place and ignite that argument...

Great win on Saturday night with a real sense of unity amongst the fans and players... so why do that?

I think it's meaningless and unnecessary imo...

To have the red n white back as home kit would be great.

Home kit next season needs red in it.

I doubt we'll ever see a purely red and white home kit ever again.

What Cadete has said in the past is bang on the money. Why would any hypothetical new owners revert back to a red and white home kit when it's most successful season off-field has been in sky blue? Fans made a big keep the red and white spiel and despite the fact that cfg spat in their faces they still came back in droves.

Any future kits under a hypothetical new ownership would probably look something like this (depending on how far down the line CFG bailed out and how well engrained sky blue is as our one and only color) :

Catania+Calcio+v+Roma+Serie+yKwYzDTTlh3l
