Stuttgart $2 at home looks good.

Also dont mind Hoffenheim and Leverkusen at higher odds.

Wolfsburg quite happy even at $1.40 odds while Bayern is away to a reasonably good team but they are wso scarily good that even at $1.30 I like them.

Also Napoli at home not bad $2.20+ with Juventus struggling so much. Also Carpi +1 paying $3.60 worth a few dollars i think.

Also the good weather really brought in a decent crowd - From what I could see even the Public was much more packed than last year and a few decent gals were around the mounting yard for what this meeting normally gets which is a good sign for the bigger meets to come. :up:l

can confirm

Gambling can get fucked.

Not really though, cause its won me a lot if money over the last year. But this weekend it can get fucked.

Not even down that much just mad that I was up a lot and lost it ffs. And mad at BS soccer results all weekend.

Seriously fiorentina beating inter 2-0 in Milan in the first 20 mins seems fucking legit. Fucking rigged Italian league just like the AC Milan fixture earlier.

Italian Soccer is like the Dishlickers, after all it's a business taking part in Italy so the best team is the best and smartest cheater... Juve! Juve! Juve! etc.

Actually to get a bit intellectual Hemingway even has a passage in one of his books about attending the Gallops in Italy and how a race he bets on ends up being rigged.

LOL Juve isn't cheating very well this season.

I know everyone will think I'm paranoid but when I first saw $2.40 for AC Milan like an hour before the game I was already suspicious because it didn't add up given the form or stature of the teams. Then I quickly watched it move around a lot in the lead up to the game, out to $2.70+ but with a lot of movements in between, it was almost changing as much as a horse race which is unusual for soccer. Never betting on Italian soccer again ffs.

Too make matters worse, received an email this morning:

Shit that the Turnbull falls on GF Day so it's been pushed to the Sunday... honestly would not give a shit if it had clashed with the two worst clubs in the land battling it out.

Major Metro Meetings on a Sunday never have the same feeling, the Sydney Card is always a bunch of Mid Weekers and they crowd always lacks in Numbers plus you know you have to go back to work the next day. I might go to the Valley on the Friday instead this year.

Really good noms for Friday night. I'd certainly be heading there.

Pretty keen on Gust of Wind for the Cups atm, thinking she'll run super in the Turnbull on Sunday. Taken $17 for Caulfield Cup. $35 for the Melbourne and also had $50 @251 on her winning both cups.

I think I will almost def be looking abroad for Melbourne Cup and unless something really emerges on Sunday likewise for the Caulfield Cup as all the Australian Imported Stayers having been really fail to do much this Spring.

They state of Staying Races in Australia has really now reached a new level of stupidity, the higher and higher prize money for Juveniles (Mainly so two year olds) has lead to us down here more and more focusing on getting horses out on the track early and subsequently training them to be sprinters and sit and sprint regardless of what they would be naturally.

Alongside this the amount of Staying Races in Australia to test a horse throughout the year before it challenges the Spring Cups have been often taken of the Calendar and in the case of some of the more famous interstate races (The Perth and Brisbane Cups) have reduced to smaller distances from the traditional 3200 metres. Meaning the only real time you see if a horse can run 3200 metres at a decent level outside of the Melbourne Cup is now the Sydney Cup.

So by the time by they end up running staying races (As they have shown that is where their actual ability lies) and come across the foreign horses who come over and have been taught to stay from day dot and lightly raced to do so and taught to travel at the one medium pace over a Caulfield or Melbourne Cup they usually get beaten.

The media of course tries to make out that these International Horses are coming over here because of how great our races are so we are getting all the best horses in the world to contest the Caulfield and Melbourne Cup. Of course they never mention how rarely anyone sends an European/Japanese Horse out for the WFA Cox Plate and never for a big sprint race (Only really HK horses come for sprint as they are often trained/bred by Aussies).

That is because the reason we get all these foreign Stayers is because in the UK and Europe they are actually G2 horses as the concept of Handicap Race worth millions over there is laughable as to be a G1 over there it has to be a set weight race (WFA or a Classic). Therefore every bloke over there with a G2 Stayer (Lightly raced and trained as a Stayer) brings it over to compete against the Australian horses. As in the horses than have been racing for years since they were two targeting unsuitable distances like 1200 metres and who have never tackled anything close to two miles.

HOWEVER now I thought this was where the stupidity stopped until reading a UK Racing Magazine in Dubai a month or so ago. It was then that I found out it turns out that Australian Trainers/Owners are now importing European Stayers themselves as such an immense rate (I never realised it was at such levels) that the Europeans are getting really ticked off because their Staying Stocks are now actually being heavily depleted.

So basicly Australian Trainers are admitting they can't develop or CBF developing Stayers properly from yearlings anymore and are just choosing to buy them after they have ran a year or two in the Northern Hemisphere instead. And these Australians are of course prepared to spend more on these G2 horses because in the Australian Market with Handicap G1's they could be big time G1 horses.

What I dont get is why dont the Australian Turf Club's tinker with their programs in terms of offering more staying races, lengthening those they already have and most of all raising the prize money to such races rather than consistently dropping it so that instead of seeing European Horses racing against Australian owned European Horses...

Then we could get Australian Trainers taking the patient European approach to training Stayers and start to see Australian Owned and Trained horses win the bloody Cup again.

It's not like our country does not process either the Breeding Ability or the Trainers with Knowledge how to do so... the race clubs just need to provide these PPL with the financial incentive to do so. One of the great disappointments these days is how the best horse in Australia would often win the Melbourne Cup such as The Diva, Saintly and Might and Power (So You Think should have likewise Northerly would have) all showed this by also all winning strong Cox Plates.

Holy shit, just trolled the Best TOTE or SP so hard. Cheeky $10 bet on the last in Armadale because I was bored, horse wins,  two totes and the SP are around $5 and the other tote is $13.50. I knew something like this could happen on smaller races with less volume on the totes but didn't think such a huge difference  was possible wow.

Hard to defend that statistic if its true. Not as if its a popular form of racing/entertainment anyway.

I am sorry but until these news stories broke you could not be more wrong as it's been by the fastest growing part of the racing sector for years now...

The amount of betting on dogs over the last ten years has grown immensely (As it's the racing world's version of pokies) which has in turn seen massive jumps in Prize Money and also a huge rise in the amount of PPL wanting to get involved in Serious Ownership. This is also due to fact you can actually make decent profits as travel costs and training costs with a dog are minimal. In fact the sport was becoming more and more socially acceptable until this stuff occurred,

It's not like these Horse Syndicates where you are just basically paying a lot of cash to have a bit of a fun at the track.

Trots on the other hand is completely fucked, a lot of trainers are just giving the sport away as the cost of putting a horse in a float is simply too expensive for the poor prize money on offer.

Might be the fastest growing out of trots, horses and dogs, but in comparison to every form of modern day entertainment goes its hardly a blip on the radar for people. (And I dont really consider 'fastest growing' is any sort of valid claim generally, take Masters Hardware or Youi for example)

used my crownbet "crownlow" bonus on arsenal/zenit/bayern :droy:

after putting on all my mlb bets with WH like 5 mins later get a text saying put on a $10 bet on the new app and get a $50 bonus bet

Mate I could have told you not to bet on Arsenal, or Chelsea, saw both of those as a decent chance of an upset.

Had Zenit, bayern - 1, roma, and dinamo kyiv. Got rolled by Roma, I knew it was the weakest leg as well ffs. italian teams again.

Quick google and you should find the Herald Sun article I read, the data is legit, a leak I think.

You're right it is hard to defend even by me who is all for geryhound racing continuing and who doesn't put much value on the life of animals compared to what other people do.

Look no offence but you really dont know what your talking about when you say a "blip on the radar" and I dont know what you mean when you say "Modern Day Entertainment"... video games?

Dog Racing requires a very minimal effort from its participants to make a large amount of revenue and it's not only "Fast Growing like Masters" but a huge Multi Million Dollar Industry since the advent of half of Australia having Pay TV.

It has the advantage of being hosted in seven different places a night when PPL get home from work on weekdays and being on when PPL are out at Pubs or the Huge League Clubs they have up north on the weekends and drinking grog. Of course not many PPL attend the dogs (Nor do they really attend Million Dollar horse races in NSW) or do they talk about it...

But thousands of PPL still bet on it because it is easy to bet on and the Pokies of the Racing World and PPL can just go of Box Colours and Tote Prices on how to bet.

The Greyhound Melbourne Cup is not worth 500k for no reason.

I more had in mind the attendances, and people actively following  the sport rather than the amount of money being wagered on it. Ive never met anybody in Melbourne who has been to The Meadows, and whenever I went to Cannington in Perth it was deserted.

Well they dont have to lose, just draw and you lose, which is much more achievable. The way i approach short priced favourites in soccer is I look at if I can see any sort of reasonable chance that the favourite will fuck it up, and given Arsenal fucked it up the first game and they're patchy form overall this season, I thought there was a decent chance and so I left it.

Interesting, you think the market is more efficient (odds better match the chances) for greyhounds compared to thoroughbreds?

If we were comparing like for like, as in a horse race and a greyhound race with similar interest and volume of gambling, you're probably right because there are less variables. But the average greyhound race and the average horse race have very different levels of interest and betting volume, and I think that's a bigger factor to consider. Many greyhound races have very little betting volume, to the extent that even individual punters can have a significant effect on the market even without betting huge amounts. Also with less interest it's more likely for dodgy shit to be going on. Whereas even random country weekday thoroughbred races have a lot more interest and gambling volume.

Someone likes backing a favourite.

He exploits these promos so blatantly but doesn't get banned. I take more risks with them, give the bookies a chance to get my money, place non-promo bets, but I've been banned from promotions at 2 places now. Guess they dont care too much about some bloke winning $20 per bet but don't like seeing a bloke winning $600 a bet. Cheap cunts.

Im sure people like me that gamble like that will eventually hit a certain threshold that puts in an auto ban, its just that I'll take longer to get there.

I think it comes down to someone actually manually reviewing your account, and probably seeing the amount of profit I was in lead to someone looking at my account at sportsbet, and it just happened to be a time I hadn't placed any non-promo bets in a while because TBH I thought it was safe while places like ladbrokes and WH were at risk so i'd been doing normal bets there. Same with when I got banned at Tom Waterhouse, I thought the normal gambling I was doing at WH would keep me from getting banned at TW. I think if you do enough non-promo gambling you can get away with it for a while. Sports are generally pretty low risk and  even just doing random bets on head to head markets will see you only lose a few % over the long run, so it's worth doing a bit of non promo betting to keep the promos coming.

The other thing is I had over $2.5k in refunds at sportsbet, so that is anotehr flag that probably lead to someone looking at my account.

But I don't think there is really a limit to the promos you can consume,  more so they want to see you betting on other things as well and for it to be high enough to warrant giving you that many promos. EG if you're some degenerate gambler blowing a bunch of money all the time on other things they're not going to care if you're smashing every promo because it keeps you betting with them.

I said PPL not me... but thanks for teaching this stuff  I had no idea about.

Anyway most odds are basically a rough reflection (With some exceptions) of the Boxes the dogs are coming out of anyway.
