Shahanga
Well looks like we (in conjunction with some Pacific Island nation who’s name I can’t remember) have won the right to host the Women’s 2023 World Cup! Given the corruption stench of FIFA I was a bit sceptical of the whole thing, but it seems the tournament being lower profile has perhaps made merit more important in the process.

I was also sceptical but I was wondering whether the fact that Colombia and it's health system could cope with COVID-19 would make a difference. bt50
IMO that report coming out yesterday leading into the vote was the best thing that could have happened in terms of knocking any foul play out of the equation, or at least minimizing it. Or a good opportunity for FIFA to be able to point at something to say they aren't corrupt so that they can continue being corrupt. 2
Harrison
Regardless, it’s a great result for football in this country, especially women’s football. But we all benefit from this, just in terms of funding, infrastructure, media exposure etc. Great news.

Indeed, it will be good to highlight the fact that Australia does have some very skilful footballers that are fairly entertaining to watch. Nate
This is an amazing result, and right as women's football is really beginning to hit its stride. The Matildas deserve it honestly. Can't wait to be involved!
