perthheart
Making this into a pullover display for the game in round three. Any advice about how best to make sure we get the thing into the ground or if there is anyone we have to OK the image with first at the club for instance or any other things we need to take into account. Any feedback is appreciated. Probably looking to make it about 5x8 depending on what fabric we can get a hold of / are allowed to do. perthheart
Buying materials today can anyone give me some advice on what the best combo of paint and fabric are to maintain a decent budget. Mostly worried about paint bleeding. Ideally would like to use spray paint as will have large areas of solid colour. Bit pet me know what has worked for you guys. Ando
Bleached calico is generally the cheapest. Acrylic paint/cheap spray paint.
LR9
Just go for a basic cotton, you should be able to get some at around $5 per meter, you'll also want to try get the widest stuff you can - aim for at least 1.2m as a minimum, but 1.5 or wider would be better. As for paint, we usually use interior house paint, but it can be expensive in smaller quantities, and I'm not sure how much you need. Craft shops can be expensive, so try your local discount variaty stores/reject shop, etc usually stock some cheap acrylic. Foam rollers and foam brushes have probably given us the best results in the past, as they give a really clean edge and apply on to the material well, sometimes eliminating the need for masking tape. perthheart
Cheers lads. Bought some foam rollers and brushes and cheap acrylic paint. Just need to get the fabric. The girlfriend is a fashion designer so getting wholesale prices on fabric is a plus. Still unsure between calico and cotton. Worry about bleeding and ripping with cotton and calico will be heavier. Leaning towards cotton ATM.
