  1. Never attended a heart away game at docklands, but why can't the heart have one end behind the goals and victory the other? It's not like victory sit in the away bay on our home games. Wouldn't it make sense to allocate each team a goal?
  2. its worth noting that AAMI is a suncorp company, and suncorp is a competitor of westpac Westpac would prefer you buy insurance from them rather than a suncorp company. Bar that, I agree with most of your comments.
  3. I read a tweet re family day on sunday the 23rd september. A few reply tweets from heart brought this to my attention. No info on the club website, or red white website. Anyone know anything more?
  4. I appreciate that you may not agree with some points, but please it is starting to get a little offensive to be name calling people who don't agree with yours. I have been more than supportive on a large number of your arguments, but now I think your crossing the line. If you don't agree with loaning players back to their club that's fine. Offer your reasons why. But don't call me (and many others) flogs etc because they disagree with your views. If the forum isn't going to be run with a clear intention to respect others opinions, then resorting to name calling will undermine the forum in its entirety. We should encourage people to join and post. We should not make people feel intimidated that their opinions may be ridiculed as a result. It's sad reading the same people post messages. We need varying opinions to make this forum successful. I can understand that the long off season may have contributed to this. Some of my posts may be attributed to the slow news days. But I never attack people on a personal level. I have been no angle (granted), and some of my posts may have attacked the club on points that may offend some forum members. But If personal attacks continues to cross this line their may be no point in accessing this forum. The red and white unite site was more than informative prior to this merger.
  5. The product must also be consistent and stable. It's difficult to attract interest if the 'goal posts' are ever changing. When quality players depart, the football community must be reassured replacement are of equal or better worth. It's also important to offer a constant stream of information to supporters. Supporters need to believe they are part of the club. But in the end I reiterate your last point. Winners are grinners.
  6. the membership brochure i just received yesterday via emal listed 'pkf' in the kappa apparel kit design. mind you this way membership brochure v2. it was also the first email received all year.
  7. There is nothing wrong with a loan back deal. I understand barca just paid around 70 million dollars and will loan back the player to his Brazilian club. The loan back give club 'a' first right to the player while his transfer value is lower. that player can then continue to develop in an environment that is comfortable to club 'a' and the player. once the player develops they will return to club 'a' in a more 'mature' state. This is how many clubs in europe are operating, particularly with younger players.
  8. I don't mind bringing in an older player but when I first read this topic I thought it was a slow news day. It turns out their may be some merit in this topic. BUT I find him to be a has been. His experience is not worth the signing. If we end up signing Mcallister I want to know why Reid wasn't offered a contract? At least Reid has a presence.
  9. The sad fact is once players leave the a league they rarely return back to the club they left. Dario went from bris to Adelaide Nicky Carl from Newcastle to Sydney Beach from ccm to heart Williams from bris to fury The list goes on. There is no guarantee they will return to us.
  10. I hope there is a sign on clause as well, similar to that of Brescia and grella. I believe FIFA regulations also state money must go to a players junior clubs.
  11. I just want us to sign somebody. Why not somebody from the vpl? The afl once looked to youth to replenish their squads, but now a stronger focus is towards mature aged players. These players have football smarts that come from years of experience. I'm in favor of any signing that may improve our defensive stock. Otherwise we will have to start with Thompson in the back again. And we all know his a far better midfielder.
  12. do we know when the European transfer season ends? could we expect a transfer request once the a-league season commences; ie, whether Newcastle are still interested? to be honest part of me wants Good to stay. I hope we can arrange a deal similar to amini.
  13. couldn't agree more. Stability is very important to a club. if your core playing group is replaced each year, what consistency does the club and supporter base have? i want to be excited that players like aziz and good are going to have a stand out year following their great performable last season, but i feel disappointed when such players are sold. I'm in favour of recruiting more experienced players. I read Grella is a free agent. he is one experienced player i would be interested in having.
  14. I read the twitter feed from the jets. It clearly states his shot took a deflection into the goals. A deflection means the ball moved from its intended direction towards something else. In this case towards the goal. Too many Goodwin lovers on this topic for me. I almost could have sworn it was full of jets supporters.
  15. I don't understand. Call it as you see it. What are you issues?
  16. how does this guy score 3 and he struggle to hit the target for us..............oh wait he didn't actually score 3 1st goal was shot for long distance. i doubt with a good keeper and defence would let a shot like that would have gone in. 2nd goal was an own goal. deflections don't count as your own goal. 3rd goal was probably from poor defending. they were only up against a local nbn state select team. i can't imagine the local talent is any good. The NBN State League is the premier competition in Northern NSW involving nine (9) clubs from within the Hunter Region. This sounds like a provisional league team. 6-0 final score???? is that all???? thats sad.
  17. he won't go to asia. i don't see anything in his game that suggests his going to have a great a-league career. I doubt he will earn a starting spot in the jets side. didn't the jets recently sign a more experienced wingman? i trust the club offered him what he was worth. if the jets want to throw money away thats up to them. given their actions over the last few months, i doubt tinklier is even interested in the jets.
  18. our PR department can't be that slow....surely not. Im sure its headed by some very sound and smart people. think of all the great PR work they have done so far. ......on a more serious note the victory marketing department are pretty good. Victory were able to have their practice match results from last night broadcast on sen. ohh and they even threw in an audio grab of the coach talking after the game.
  19. i have no respect for past players. especially those playing for an opposing ale age team. why do you even waste time concerning yourself with a competitor. So if goodwin is making a run on the wing against us, would you want him to succeed or fail? I hope one of our boys beak him every time. You cannot have it both ways.
  20. You don't have to see him play to know his stats are pretty good. How many people have seen our latest signings? Yet many regard him as a good buy?
  21. Didn't he get signed on a longer term contract following a guest stint. Plus the guest stint doubled as an injury replacement. I'm sure mori's wagers in no way represented that of a 'guest stint'. From memory did glory make the finals that year? Mori's signing is Similar to our signing of Reid.....both 'guest / short term stints'.
  22. A guest stint are for hacks who cannot find a club. Owen is no hack. His a professional footballer. Pros want to play week in week out. My guess is Owen will follow drogba and chase the money in Asia or America. A guest stint will only do harm to our club. No team in the a league has benefitted from such signing. Remember Romario took up another players spot....and he was a laugh because he was so bad. I don't think they won many with him.
  23. Let me get something straight......walker scores and has done so in the youth comp? If so what are we waiting for? Someone else to sign him? We dropped half our squad from last season, of which half of those half were rubbish. So what harm could walker be to our club? Sign him up!
  24. Particuarly if they leave to play for a competing a league team. Ala goodwin, heffer, etc
  25. Agree 100% This is also the benefit of having a salary cap. Every team can recruit for the next season.
