  1. Will be joining Man City. Wenger: ‘It is true he is out of contract and it is a good opportunity for me to thank him for his contribution not only as a player but as a leader as well. I still think he can play and in the last month he has come back to a good physical condition. He would still be a very good player, everywhere’. 2. We were meant to get him in our first season under CFG. In a recent interview, he rejected coming to us next season as he believed he was now too old.
  3. Rumors are we were getting Lampard but FFA said no.
  4. he gets to stay because he was one win from the GF. Its not unreasonable, given that he is a know quantity and therefore lower risk than an untried coach unfamiliar with the local terrain, or Gombau who didn't actually win a Grand Final and took quite a while to get the team going.

  6. I for one- and despite being put on Bullshit Watch- still believe he will get 8 weeks, or 56 days if you're in that part of the world. If we look like crap, he won't see out his contract. If we are top 4 or better at that stage, he will be kept for the season.
  7. I think it could mean CFG has said "take $800k or see out your contract"
  8. love is a strong word for it.
  9. Much of hat was the club being in damage control for bad publicity, 2 weeks was IMO excessive- 1 wk off and another weeks pay would have been fair IMO. And the mellee 2 week suspensions was OTT.
  10. Our defending is 90% a JVS problem. Think through the all the Benny Hill goals going back to season 1. I only read about the domestic. Footballer involved in bar incident..thats never happened before? I hate latecomers so I'll give you that one. I agree that he is an emotional person. And not someone who will conform. But professionalism takes on many facets. When I think of some of the insipid CBF'ed match day performances from Heart/City players who no doubt all were at training on time during the week, I'm not gonna hold it against a guy as you said that has scored and assisted like he has.
  11. what issues? He doesn't defend from the front, Ok, a lot of other front men don't either. He got involved in a half time kick and shove- meh we see far worse than that on the pitch that actually connect, week in week out. Off field. No-one here knows what happened. No evidence that he hit his partner, no charges laid. Guilty in the Court of Public opinion.
  12. That's because marking Djite is tougher than marking Bale. We couldn't the risk on Hughes marking Djite.
  13. Ones that didn't work tended to be the older blokes in Hughe, Koren and Duff (although he tried his guts out) So CFG wanting to bring in a youth marquee would be a good move.
  14. I don't know..I reckon we could find few players like Brown and Maycon at pretty much any suburban park on any given Sunday afternoon.
  15. He will be staying, and be given 8 weeks in to the season to show he can do more.
  16. At the back of my mind is CFG could just cut their losses if its non-core clubs ie everyone other than Man City, keep under achieving. Do they have the personnel, and the will to spread themselves across several continents and keep losing money? Despite my dislike for pushing the City brand on to this club, I do enjoy having their money supporting it. If that were to end, it would be disastrous for the league and the second Melbourne club.
  17. Whilst that is partially true, I still think the age-old saying about a champion team beating a team of champions has applied to the A-league since Postecoglou's Brisbane. Amour just confirmed it. The manager is King.
  18. If you have a look at last nights Djite strike, you'll see he dives *under* the ball, and not for the first time.
