  1. My assumptions are 100K is more like it. I doubt any head manager is on less than $100K. They wouldn't get out of bed for less than that! Can anybody share any facts? i.e. min wage paid to a A-League manager?
  2. Anyone know how Fred performed in the youth team?
  3. we prove time and time again that we can keep up with the best teams and turn up on big events....mariners and roar (don't know what happened with Phoenix though!) and victory. victory are just a very ordinary side. whilst i'm happy with our performance last night - i'm a little gutted that we didn't whip those Victory 'old hats'. need more success in the box. We definitely have a moral win. With the addition of Goodwin, just shows how much depth we really have. We seem to be getting heaps of "thumbs up" by all (even Victory supporters). The media is paying attention and we are the envy of our competitors.
  4. think a move like that for Babalj might help him mentally actually. not a bad call. he may be a better impact player at the moment, until he finds confidence to deliver the shots.
  5. 1. Victory are thugs on and off the park, never played attractive football (even when they were winning). On the contrast, Heart made a statement that they'll aim to play a betters style of football right from the beginning. 2. Everybody likes an underdog. 3. Not many people can really say they supported a club from its inaugural year. 4. Youth policy - everybody's given a fair go at the club. Good, Hamill, Behich, Babalj, now Goodwin. They tend to nurture and support the youngsters, unlike Victory, who just buy them (i.e. Rojas, Kruse, Solarzano etc). I reckon Skoko, Sibon and Aloisi did a brilliant job in that area. They did exactly what the clubs owners asked them to do. 5. Club training ground is local 6. Red are my sporting colours - Man U, Milan, Essendon FC, Preston Lions and so on.
  6. Tend to agree with you - don't want to undo the good work and change the style!! Just hope that it doesn't cost 700K. the foundation work is done - therefore I assume fee must be smaller for a similar manager...say 500K. I admit I wouldn't have a clue as to what's appropriate for an offshore manager. But, I hope for Ange P, Arthur Pappas and Milicic as assistants - bring it on. May even help some of the Sth Melbourne NSL and Whittlesea NSL supporters to take up a membership The timing is suberb leading up to the Derby game, and also allowing plenty of time to scout and have JVS contribute in the screening process. Very wise of our club's owners. Hat's off to them!
  7. Reposting from previous forum... Pandev Members 15 posts Posted Today, 04:33 AM hold on. yes we was great for our club and will be missed, but he will leave a good legacy by developing, promoting youth, tactically outsmarting the opposion. Rest assured, the club is in a strong position. i think the club should refrain from paying a fortune and recruiting from abroad, and focus on existing managers within Australia or perhaps Asia. this may help the assistant coach's to stay on and continue to influence the squad/tactics and keep the culture etc. I hear great things about Ante and Aloisi, but they are probably still not ready to take the reins as yet. What are are realistic options (consider that it's highly unlikely they will appoint another 700-800K pa manager)?? Ange Postoglou (tactically astute) Miroslav Blieberg (tactically astute - little success at two clubs though) Arnold (not suited to JVS structure and legacy). Arthur Pappas (probably too green as yet) John Aloisi (as above) Ante Militic (perhaps ready for the next step) Culina manager's not worthy of any consideration are; Durakovic Merrick Would like to see on this forum a realistic list of manager's for consideration. If the club spends wisely, it could afford to splash out a little on another quality midfielder and CB at season end.
  8. Yep, his record isn't brilliant either. Ange would be my preference - hope they can get him on board!! I don't know much about Straka....
  9. BTW, i met a relative of Collosimo on the weekend. I quote "well respected by everybody at the club and his team mates....lot's of loyalty by both sides...but he can't put a right foot in for JVS....if JVS asks for "A", when delivered by Collisimo, JVS would then ask for "B", then "C" and so on.....it's just never enough for JVS despite working his but off ". They don't know if there was a falling out between them. Collisomo is utterly disappointed but doesn't complain hence looked at the Victory option, "he doesn't promote himself and is not that inclined to winge etc". Losing JVS will rejuvenate his career at Heart. I doubt he'll leave, unless new manager has same attitude as JVS. Anybody notice how stable the side was when he was subbed on in NZ?

Haven't seen him play - little available online. I think his old fella was a decent former NSL player. Can't recall really.
  12. BTW had some Victory scum through fries at my back while I was walking with my 4 year old at AAMi. Must have been some real tough bloke, who couldn't do it front on. Can't believe the tosser, why bother unless you want some real action ? Yeah I'm venting abit, just think the day/night is won on the Park.
  13. Thats so cool....but not Australia buddy. .Why? Why would you give ammunition to the haters? Why fuel them? Iwont judge, but When you're wiser you'd think twice. It comes with age. Personally, I wouldn't want to explain pyro to my boys. Or even fights at last etihad game with Victory. If j wanted to follow a thug team, I'd follow Victory. Keep it clean... If you want the fans to come and build a loyal base of supporters. All my mates with kids (more than 5 families) want the same. Games are won the Park. Teams are developed at grass roots with young followers. Think mcDonalds and every other Afl club. Logical ti me.
  14. agree, a few too many calls didn't go our way. but, the hoffman yellow may have been deserved. because we've earnt a reputation for diving...remember the Perth game. Babalj and Maycon are our number one culprits. The refs review all games after each weekend and discuss these sort of things. Hence, Sebre must have had clear direction from superiors and colleagues to watch out for Heart.
  15. I'd add Srhoj to that line up( if he's available). Thompson needs to find some form, or hunger. Perhaps come of bench for a change.

Buddy Farah, you seem to know quite a bit about this transfer and Paul Reid. This may be a long shot, but are you representing him? Can the real Buddy stand up?
  18. We should have put that game away. We had possession and played well, just a few errors in defense and perhaps a lack of chances at goals.
  19. Do we have the youngest CB in the league? I get anxious when a strong striker gets near Good! He's doing a fine job, just wish there was a senior guy to back him. Also, Behich had a great game, but after Good's error, cost us the first goal.
  20. Babalj - massive fan I am. But can hold the ball too long sometimes. I recall he had a chance to pass it in center of goals but drinbled and took it out for a corner.
