  1. 3rd Strip Until We Lose. Make it happen people!
  2. Starting line up and formation for the CCM game- ..............................Redders Hoffman..........Vranks....... Weilart...........Behich ...................Retre................Murdocca ...........Garuccio. ...........................Mauk .........................Williams ...................................Misfud Vranks needs a chance. We need 2 DMs (Mobile DMs, so no Kalmar). Halfway though the season with no wins, surely Garuccio and Mauk need to get a chance to grow. Even with all their misses, misfud and Williams deserve to start upfront as they are 2 players who give it their all. I actually think misfud needs to play off someone else and Williams would be perfect.
  3. Aloisi is goneski. Utter crap. New record for long balls and passes to no one.
  4. We were never going to win or even push brazil in brazil, but damn that was crap. We play the same old OLD players and the same tactics that we would use against Jordan and Oman and expect to compete??? Fuck me.
  5. I don't know, we out played them for most of the game. We should have put them to bed early. I think a draw was a fair indication of the game. Both teams had chances and on any other day it could have gone 3 or 4 nil to either side. To put the game into perspective for those that didn't see, the Aussies played "football", real football last night. Columbia are Sth American champs, ahead of brazil, ahead of Argentina etc and we equalled them in passing, technique, ball contol, planning, the lot. In total I think Columbia went route one more times than the Aussies! When has that ever happened! Some of these boys will go to big clubs after this world cup if they can string together another performance like that, even if they don't go through to the next round, guaranteed. The commentator kept mentioning where each of the Colombian players were heading next season - ac Milan etc. And the next minute one of our boys skips around them and you think, the future socceroos are going to be something special. To be honest, I would like to see most of these boys play in the east Asian cup next year. With these guys being from the A League or fringe players in Europe it would be a great chance formthem. Better than playing some older a league guys who will never play for the socceroos in a full strength team.
  6. Love how in post match Holger blamed "the youth players he trusted to get the job done" but they let him down. Um... you old f@$k, there was 2 players under 25 and you took probably our best player (Kruse) off just after halftime. You had a formation that none of these players would ever have played with their clubs(343). This flog is worse than JA.
  7. And now it's pretty much too late........ FFA only have themselves to blame.
  8. Ok, I'll bite. He may pull off a few good saves but his distribution is the worst in the league. This level of ball control and passing often leads to him having to pull off a miraculous saves to save his own arse. Lastly, how many times do we loose possession from free kicks because he can't even kick it to half way??? Not all his fault, you would think that the players would realise this and not go so deep but they don't seem to learn and just hand over possession every time.
  9. Fred is absolutely useless on the wing. If he is not good enough currently to play centrally then he is not good enough to be in the team at the moment. I would say that Aloisi needs to have the balls to throw some of the big boys back into the youth team for a few weeks and have them learn to fight a bit. So many players just going through the motions.
  10. Heart Board: "So John, when we went behind, what tactics did you utilise to bring the team back into the game?" John Aloisi: "Ummmm........"
  11. While I agree he had a great game, he won't keep a player who is probably in the top 2 or 3 right backs in the league out.
  12. The bad - 1) Fred on the wing??? He's a central player, play him there. 2) JA not realizing within the first 5 min that Fred had no idea how to play on the wing. 3) I don't really think that Kalmar is up to it. I've always liked him but he's a big guy and he gets pushed off the ball far too easily. Walker needs to show Kalmar how to use his body to protect and keep the ball. 4) Colosmio is still taking forever on the ball, letting the defense set themselves. JA doesn't seems to have to balls to tell players like Colosimo that they need to up their game or they are out. 5) Thompson..... A squad player but I also find myself thinking that maybe he's not up to the higher standard that the A League has stepped up too. The Good - 1) Golgol. Definitely could be a dangerous, especially as an impact sub. 2) Tadic. Looks better and better the longer the season goes on. What he makes out of the scraps he gets from our midfield is unbelievable. 3) Walker. In attack he was brilliant. Really happy to see him play well. Looks like he plays a lot like Behich getting down the wing. Was caught out a few times in defense but overall one of our better players. Mitchinson not so much. Tbh I think he has got poorer with each game, but he's still young and could be anything (especially if he gets rid of that god aweful hairstyle he has lol). 4) Paddy G. Pretty happy with his progress. I get the feeling that the longer the season goes on the more of an infield leader he is becoming. JA, no excuse to play Colosimo when Paddy can command the back with Vrankovic. 5) Ummm, how about the Jerseys, I like the jerseys......
  13. Did they announce the crowd during the game like normal? Didn't hear it. Maybe it was Gold Coast level so they didn't want it getting out.....
  14. People saying that Ange should be socceroos coach but there is no way that his system would work. He would get the game time or training time to have the players playing his style. I'd be happy with someone local but probably not Arnold. Been there, done that. I know it goes against every molecule of my aussie conscious but we could do worse than pinch Herbert from NZ.
  15. I think I'm going to show up at the airport with a lead pipe and deal with this cunt fucking up Australian soccer once and for all. This shit has gone far enough.......
  16. So if we are playing this defensively against Hong Kong, I assume the formation for the N Korea game will look something like 1-8-1-1. We nearly played that formation last night. Pretty sad pitch. I'd say it was on purpose. Our old mate Merrick would have called them and worded them up and told them to get the old tractor out onto the pitch the day before the game.
  17. Top of the heart H2h league. Just need to hang on for another 24 rounds or so........... Shit.
  18. Not trying to be so harsh on the boys but I think the fact that we only really beat victory by a bit and they got thumped means that we are probably a fair way off the pace of Perth, Brisbane and possibly Adelaide and Wellington (with a full squad).
  19. Lets start by saying, what the fuck was the deal with the new car park! Got to the game 10 minutes late thanks to that. Then we proceeded to play like the opposition was a team of 11 year olds. Behich may have helped set up the goal but that was about all he contributed. Some may say I'm being harsh but lets look at it this way, he made about 10 decent runs down the wing, but that was were it stopped. He couldn't cross it, pass to another player or shoot in the general direction of the goals. In the last 15 minutes I understand he was buggered but he was playing like he was happy with the draw! Fred....SHOOT the damn ball, don't try to be fancy. He did the same thing against victory and obviously didn't learn his lesson. Colosimo, glad he won't be playing next week, Vrankovic is better already. On the plus side, really happy with with the effort of Mate, Garcia, Vrankovic (did extremely well considering it's his first A League game) and apart from his shooting, Fred. All gave their best, especially in the second half.
  20. Would like to see him in the A League, not necessarily with Heart though.
  21. 442 has announced that WSW have signed Ono, not Ballack. Guess we won't see him in Oz anytime soon then. http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/252048,wanderers-sign-ono.aspx
  22. Our major issue is with the style we play. Currently Go Hard and C-los are not ball players, they are ball hoofers. Bolton as well, I hate to say, has terrible judgement when assessing attacking options. There were so many times last season when Behich led with a quick run but Bolton just held the ball, which ended up being hoofed down field. Options - haven't seen Redmayne but from what I've heard he has decent ball disposal having learnt that style of play whilst with Roar. Starting Gray and Vrankovic in CB. Have never been a fan of Colosimo. I honestly don't think that he shows any sort of leadership at all on the field. Not sure about Gray, but he is older and I would have thought that with heart going for someone of his age, leadership would have been a determining factor in contracting him. Vrankovic is someone I think will be huge for us this year. He'll make mistakes like Good and Hamil did but from what I've seen he got the goods. Germano DM. Sorted. Fred and ? In midfield. I'm thinking Kalmar at present as Thompson has shown some decline. I don't think he is the player he was. D-Mac up front. You can't say he hasn't earned it with his pre season performances. Just because Tadic is a Visa player shouldnt guarantee him a start. Garcia has to play wide. Let's not totally change a players position that he has played his whole life and to him into the EPL. Unfortunately, The Williams Behich connection down the left isn't really working. I would much prefer to play him as a striker when needed. I know we won't waiver from our 433, but you need to play to the squad you have sometimes. 442 suits us much better, but here is my idea for the current 433. Redmayne Marrone-----Gray--------Vrankovic---------Behich Kalmar-----------------Germano Fred Duga------------------------------------------Garcia D-Mac
  23. Novelty? Maybe. But that doesn't take away the fact that the man would run rings around every other midfielder in the country. The question is, 'Is $1 million a season worth it to have the best midfield in the league?' I would say no. As much as it hurts to admit, I would not sign him. I would prefer that the club establishes themselves financially first because if they folded the HAL would be lost to me.
