  1. I can understand their frustration with Yarraside's decision for the silent protest, but as you said, they never participate or get involved, so they can F off. It was the longest 45 mins of crap football that I've ever sat through in the first half which was made worse by our lack of singing. But I think our point was made and the second half was amazing. But the GA just sat back and watched it happen instead of standing and singing along with us.To be honest with you (and I mean this in the most respectful way possible) I see absolutely no right for any member of GA that doesn't participate in; chanting, singing, clapping - so on and so forth, to be frustrated at the choice of a silent protest. In what way does it affect them? To those who took part in any type of active support during the second half, well in and continue it on at every home game after this. I agree the GA don't have the right to criticize Yarraside. But I think they are just as pissed off as we are and were having a go at us instead of the club. To them, we are part of their afternoon's entertainment and we weren't delivering. With such a poor level of effort from Heart in the first half our silence made it seem worse for them. At least our next home game, the derby, we're guaranteed a big crowd and plenty of atmosphere. Hopefully the GA will bring their voices with them.
  2. Crap 1st half, great 2nd half. I was happy to see 3 goals at the Yarraside end which made it all worthwhile. But we need to play with some of the passion of the 2nd half. Left the game happier than I have for a long time, despite the result.

  4. One of the biggest influences on my musical tastes, Lou Reed died yesterday. I've followed him since the days of the Velvet Underground and his contribution to music cannot be measured by a few words. The Velvet Underground & Nico has been my favourite album for over 40 years and is one of the most important albums to come out of the 60s. RIP Lou, you can now "sleep for a thousand years…"
  5. I just received my second membership card in today's mail. Comparing it with the first one, it now has the row printed on it. As I stand with Yarraside, I don't know where my "real seat" is (or that it was missing from the first card). Costly mistake by someone in having to reprint and post replacement cards.
  6. I'm an adult and that's after all the admin bullshit. Cost me $37.55 last derby, so it's gone up around $8
  7. I'm just sitting in the waiting room while our Hyundai is getting serviced admiring a framed Heart shirt signed by David Williams. It seems my car dealership, Makin & Luby sponsors him. Much better than the last time I was here and had to look at a blue shirt. I like Williams and hope he continues to develop as a player.
  8. Renewed my active membership last night. Seating plan a big improvement, especially moving the away supporters from beneath the screen at the other end.
  9. I'd like to renew my active membership soon as I'm now in "AFL mode" and as time goes by, Heart becomes a distant memory of the summer that could have been. It would be good to commit to Heart ASAP, so that I've got something to talk about as I try to encourage new members.
  10. Or David Lyon - General Manager Fan Engagement.
  11. Good article in the Age today. At least this journalist was actually at the game he is writing about. He also explains why Yarraside changed ends. We need more jounos like this that can see through the media hysteria. http://www.theage.com.au/sport/a-league/fans-are-an-easy-target-for-the-aleagues-knockers-20130318-2gb0t.html
  12. I enjoy the podcast each week and look froward to it. Perhaps you could get more input from the club? I'm sure the odd interview from club officials, coaches, staff etc may be interesting. I don't know the people behind the scenes around the club, so talking to them for a few minutes may enlighten me. Keep up the good work.

    Glad all over

I saw Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in 2001 and they played it at the start of the game and for each goal (4). It worked well with great crowd involvement.
  14. Hey Ando, I thought you didn't watch the game, with your back to the pitch yelling at the terrace ;-)
  15. Happy Together worked better this week, just need to get people to stand up an sing it loud and proud.
  16. Was a great sound from Yarraside, shame the rest of the crowd don't join in. I was on the edge of bay 17 and sang and clapped all game, but only a few guys in front of me joined in. The new megaphone was great, could clearly hear it above the background crowd noise.

    New song

I agree, it belongs to Liverpool. We can make Happy Together our own.
  18. I heard Happy Together on ABC radio one morning this week. Perhaps we have a supporter at the ABC? ;-)
  19. Thanks for the concise report. I was thinking of going, but thought it may have degenerated into an "us against them" debate over the recent negative press we've had. Will definitely go next time. Also agree with your comments on the next Heart Fan Forum being more tightly structured.
  20. They got a mention on the police report on ABC radio this morning. Something along the lines of an increased police presence at AAMI Park this week as a result of them playing there and the trouble from the derby a few weeks ago.
