  1. Just found a description of how Hamill is going in the K-League: http://www.ggarmy.com/News/Latest-News/Socceroos-Central---Weekend-Review-%2818%29 So he's been a starter in both games Seongnam have played since his midweek debut. He's scored a goal in one of those two matches. And after he was substituted with 13 minutes to go Seongnam conceded twice turning a 2-1 lead into a 3-2 loss. Hamill could hardly of had a better beginning at his new club.
  2. Nope, you need 3 players aged 20 or under. All teams do (except Wellington I believe, but I think they have a different arrangement). Perth have 4, Victory have 5 and we have 1 (Vrankovic). Selling Hamill, Good and Babalj largely explains our lack of players under 20 at the moment, but we need 3 under 20 players before the season starts. I expect like Vrankovic the two players will be signed quickly enough. And probably like Vrankovic I'll never have heard of either of them. Hopefully like last season we'll have a couple of young guns who can immediately step into A-League matches and make an impact.
  3. I agree that it's probably to save money that Heart don't want to sign many more players. There may be some truth to the promoting youth to senior contracts argument, but only Groenewald and Zac Walker might get promoted. I think that is so because they both have played with the senior team in a preseason match. If Heart sign a DM it would have to be Vince Grella or Jacob Poscoliero. If it is someone else they are leaving it late to make the final signings. Grella is presumably the signing, because I don't think we really need another DM, but we could always use quality Socceroos. If the DM is either Grella or Poscoliero we still need to sign two 20 year old or younger players, so Heart would have three signings remaining. I'm real interested to see what young players Heart sign. Vrankovic has so far been an impressive surprise signing, and hopefully the last two youngsters are of comparable quality to him.
  4. Brendan Hamill scored a well taken header in the latest Seongnam game. At the 1 minute mark in the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu2s7ItWXRc Seongnam ultimately lost 3-2 though.
  5. I just said he sounds decent. He's only 18 and three clubs (Jets, Sydney FC, Heart) were offering him youth contracts, despite him only playing a fairly limited amount of games with the AIS. Wanderers also were prepared to immediately have him compete for a spot in their A-League team. Ross Aloisi compared him to Curtis Good and Jan Versleijen gave him a rave review. When you sign young players they by definition haven't shown they can play in the A-League (e.g. Vrankovic), but that doesn't mean at all that they don't have the potential to play at A-League level (e.g. Vrankovic). We tried to sign him and we missed out. On the available evidence he is at least decent. I just thought I'd mention a player Heart were trying to bring over the club.
  6. Some quotes about him (from Jan Versleijen, so maybe take them with a grain of salt): http://www.canberratimes.com.au/sport/football/green-sees-ais--team-as-stepping-stone-to-pro-ranks-20111126-1v2zh.html#ixzz239HhX3mH Sounds like a decent player. Although, unfortunately, like Craig Goodwin he's narrowly pursued a club that will provide game time, but probably won't have a very good season.

  8. That's exactly how I interpreted that statement. It was also a bit strange that Aloisi said we already have players who play the same way Govas does. We could use another winger and another attacking midfielder IMO, and Govas seemed like he could play either position decently.

  10. What position did he play? Also, is there any chance that we could sign him, or would he require a Visa spot?

  13. He's pretty fucking good!!! What a deal!

  15. Keep the promotional image simple IMO, like the last one. Fantastic news that the game might be recorded in HD. It builds up excitement for the season to start seeing these pre-season highlight videos (especially for the many fans who can't get to the games). It would be good if zoom could be used as well, so the goals could be seen a little more clearly. Thanks for your efforts! Keep up the good work!
  16. I bet Mebrahtu and Gray will play as well. Heart's twitter account said they were "set to play" a day before the last match, so they should be fit. Aloisi will have to look at these two players before the season starts. Will be interesting whether there are anymore triallists. It doesn't appear that any youth team players are getting promoted, so it wouldn't surprise me, as we are still a few players short of a full squad.
  17. Played very well, maybe man of the match IMO. Pretty good with freekicks as well (something Heart haven't been so good at). Definitely sign him up.
  18. Trying to guess who was playing Aziz Behich-----Dylan Macallister-----Andreas Govas ------------Jason Hoffman---------Nick Kalmar------------ ------------------Matt Thompson---------- Riley Woodcock---David Vrankovic----Patrick Gerhardt----? --------------------Andrew Redmayne? At the start of the second half Colosimo replaced Gerhardt and Marrone came on at RB. Matt Thompson came off as well. Was Konyit RB in the first half then DM in the second? I could be very wrong with a position and/or a player or two, but that's who I identified playing.
  19. Not sure. I did a quick google search and I found this: (http://forum.footballanarchy.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13383&start=15) From a post at Football Anarchy. I wouldn't bet my house on it, given the source, but he appears to be left footed.
  20. Starting XI, who would you like to see, or who do you think we'll see? Mebrahtu----Hoffman----Williams -------Govas---------Thompson -------------Gerhardt------------------- Woodcock--Gray--Konyit---Marrone --------------Redmayne That's who I think we'll see. Aloisi will probably want to test some new players and triallists. I would like to see Germano, Kalmar and Dugandzic as well.
  21. Yeah, let's just hate all the players and staff and only create treads demanding that each and every one of them be sacked. So much fucking bitterness on this forum. It's pathetic. Supporters supporting a club and talking up its positives? No, not unless they win the league. Pathetic. Cheer the fuck up.
  22. It's Andreas Govas btw. The article messed up his first name: http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/244950,govas-looks-for-a-return-home.aspx
