Here's my submission... Centenary fixture?

We'll be the last to know if these rumours have any substance whatsoever. Of course we will, because once it is announced by the club to the fans then it is no longer a rumour.

Melbourne Heart - 2012-13 - Player of the Year

Congrats Libba. I think you will also find Garuccio was on international duty. -
In fact the article doesn't even say that Heart are interested. The only comment from the club was "we have been made aware he is available". But let's all go crazy over a misleading headline.

" Reactivity is very quickly becoming the culture of the club. " As opposed to the posters on this forum...

Round 22, Sunday February 24th MHFC vs Sydney @ AAMI
Caganer replied to Dylan's topic in Melbourne City
If the shirt covers your head you get booked. If he lifted it to his chin like Fred did in his celebrations, no card, but because he lifted it over his head it was a card. Fifa rules state that a player must be cautioned when: In the opinion of the referee, he makes gestures which are provocative derisory or inflammatory He climbs on to a perimeter fence to celebrate a goal being scored He removes his shirt over his head or covers his head with his shirt -
Round 21, Friday February 15 MHFC vs Newcastle @ Hunter Stadium

Based on Wikipedia (not the most reliable of sources) Gerhardt is only 1cm taller than Colosimo (1.84m vs 1.83m) - both 6'0" Vrankovic is 1.81m - 5'11" Not disagreeing that stability with Gerhardt in defence is important, just don't think the height argument cuts it. -
Interesting use of language by Scott Munn there. Not interested in Neill just for the rest of the season, but interested in a longer deal. In other articles Heart have been quoted as ready to sign someone for 18 months. However, unless they need the salary cap room, there was no need to release Gray to make room for Neill.

Yes, It's the destination country transfer window that matters.

JD is a former Melbourne Knights midfielder, former legal counsel for FFA and former CEO of the PFA. Along with his brother (and current Heart assistant coach) being a former goalkeeper in the Eredivisie and Croatian national team, I think he probably has fairly decent footballing connections.

Isn't the point of gambling to take a gamble?

No worries mate. More a general comment then anything when people criticise our averages. I just don't understand why debries should not count for it. Because the derbies are an outlier and it makes a significant difference to the average whether we have one or two home derbies in a season. By removing the outliers you identify a more meaningful measure of underlying attendance growth/decline. What also needs to be considered in the analysis of membership 'growth' is retention. At the last fan forum, it was identified that Heart only had a 50% membership renewal rate. This means that to grow from 6000 members in y1 to 9000 members in y2 (as an illustrative example) actually requires 6000 new members to be found, not just 3000.

Didn't Bolton play against Beckham on an LA Galaxy tour while he was at Sydney FC?
-
The Fan Forum was told that a marquee had to make sense both off the field and on the field. No marquee had been identified that met those criteria and with whom an agreement could be reached. The club wasn't going to pursue a marquee for the sake of having a marquee. Owen wasn't dismissed, Heart were in negotiations with him, but an appropriate agreement could not be reached. The "sudden $1.7m" for a marquee comes from identifying an appropriate identity that will attract corporate/commercial backers. Sponsors, wealthy individuals, etc. might be willing to contribute money to bring a marquee to Heart if they felt they could capitalise on their presence through increased exposure, creating business connections, etc. Clearly, Beckham is deemed to provide this benefit for sponsors. Evidently those same sponsors do not see the same value in contributing to bricks and mortar training facilities. You don't make money on property unless you can sell or rent it. Heart training facilities would be based on La Trobe University campus (can't sell it) and on a peppercorn lease to Heart (no rental income). FWIW $1.7m wouldn't go very far on infrastructure anyway.
