  1. Not really. From the highlights I watched he scored a fair amount of difficult goals. Has a good turn as well. Only complaint is that he doesn't seem that quick, which i'm okay with in all honesty. Maycon was a nobody from a nothing league who was signed on the back of one competition's campaign. This is clearly a well respected player who has played visibly at a number of clubs and has made an impact. I have faith in the club and think he'll do well.
  2. Eh... surely Bosnich > Schwarzer. I agree Craig Johnston should be pushing for a place, if not named the best but probably won't be due to the under thirty nature of the poll as mus stated. Which goes to reflect how much of Australia's football culture is based around the success of the last generation of players, which is honestly fair enough. EDIT: didn't read the representing national team bit for craig Harry Kewell to end up being named the greatest.
  3. My thoughts whenever people talk about Big Brother: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4VbOHvaPRc
  4. Gerhardt's magic not so bad ey Zlatan?
  5. Yeah Redfern is pretty much the exact same as Fitzroy, was once a ghetto and is now full of hipsters - or so i'm told. Also i'm keen to get the train down with some mates from Canberra for this, providing i don't have exams or anything.
  6. You need to chill, you're acting like Rosie O'Donell at a bisexual bridal shower. Also, looking forward to hearing from our newest member, Christian9 http://mhfcsupporter...761-christian9/
  7. A new favourite (Latino)
  8. From the absolute dregs of the croatian league - not likely. But fucking lol that there is actually a player named Joseph Konyit. Sign him anyway for lols.
  9. Could also be seen in helping develop young strikers - imagine Zac Walker learning from Michael Owen and JA instead of just JA, that sounds pretty fucking boss to me
  10. I half agree with the not wanting to bring in a big name player because it makes us look like bling fc, but i genuinely believe that this would be beneficial to our club, and is probably a route towards long term development rather than pushing it back. Michael Owen was huge, and still is pretty big. Casual soccer fans will want to come and see him play. Therefore, i genuinely believe that this would increase our crowds. I think the previous examples of big name players coming to the A-League haven't made an impact based on circumstance: Fowler went to Townesville, a city that never really looked interested in the first place, and Kewell came to what was already the biggest club in the A-League that went on to have a terrible season and was also competing against a cross-town rival for dominance in the Melbourne market. Genuinely believe we are in a circumstance that could make it work. More crowds = bigger revenue = better chance of developing those facilities in the long run. Owen is also clearly a much better striker than anyone in our club, or really anyone in the A-League at the moment. Scoring goals = winning games = attracting crowds = revenue = capital for long term development, which as you said should be a priority. I think he's worth it, much more than Flores or Kewell, or even Bresciano. But i still don't believe it's actually happening.
  11. Just Fontaine. lol. But i'm curious about the Richard Porta - Arab Money business i keep hearing about. Has he actually been sold there or is it all just speculative based on his loan there from nacional? And Michael Owen, the fuck?
  12. To be fair to this forum, it's July; No a-league being played, very little news for anyone to talk about coming out of Heart HQ and as a result the forum is naturally becomming less serious / less credible. Not a big deal really, just a part of the normal lifecycle.

    Is this serious?
  14. No kidding, anyone who can get a thread on a football page wishing them a happy birthday is doing pretty well.
  15. Other than Nikolai, your whole squad is Western sydney. And even then, Nikolai is from Canberra (the per capita football factory of Australia) which is nonetheless West of Sydney. Hell there's even some Oh-Lym-Pic players in there. Give up.

I remember someone from school showing me a song called "Donny Muzza Rats" - about Doncaster Shoppingtown set to Sexyback. So good.

Wanted to punch my screen. Fucking fuck. On the other hand, Victory's large squad with a clearly superior player could throw them off almost exactly like last year... except that Ange has a better idea than Mehmet.

I'm Sure Clive Palmer will have given her a rave review about the wonders of owning an A-League Franchise.

I swear if anyone mentions Kezman again. He's clearly done and dusted with football.

  21. Ah righto then. Doesn't sound too bad at all really.
  22. Bit confused here, I thought someone said he was 5 foot 7 but the photo on the Heart website shows him to be much taller than that. Also, no mention of his Irish nationality - maybe he's not taking up a Visa spot? If all that is true, then overall this is a much better signing than I first assumed. Edit: Says irish homeland, maybe not then.
